Hole in the wall place in some part of Long Beach.... Expected greatness but was highly disappointed with overpriced mediocre meal. We got their specialty the "paridalla" cielo, mar, y Tierra. So that comes with Meat, chicken, and seafood.... They also put some melted cheese in a little tray in there along with your choice of potatoes or fried bananas and onions. The meal had two or three thinly slices of meat, three of chicken which were thigh meat, and four shrimps. It also came along with rice and beans. The meats lacked flavor in my opinion... The price for this meal for two people was $30 they should slice the price to at the most $20.... I agree with one of the yelpers that the red sauce they provide is way too strong in GARLIC totally not making it pleasing to the pallet. The green has some cilantro it's okay and better than the red but nothing worth going crazy and keep snacking with the chips. You kind of have to order the small order of guacamole which was really good.... Service was meh nothing grand... I went on a Saturday evening and this place was pretty empty. Pretty damn good small Mexican place...the combination plates come with soup or salad and tortillas so you should end up pretty full after your meal. Very Disappointed my family and I have been coming here for years! Today, I had the worst experience. First the lady forgot one order and when I brought it to her attention, she argued with me that i didn't order it. After we finished our food, I noticed the bill was higher than usual, i also noticed the bill didn't have the prices but only the total. I went up to pay and found another customer asking to put the prices on the bill, and she found that the prices were crazy higher than what is on their menu. I asked for the same thing and found that they had cranked up the prices too! When the lady said the prices were higher than the menu, the lady said "if you don't like it, then don't come again" wow really?! The lady said she made a "mistake" on my bill ...riiight?! I wanted to leave a 5 stars, but let me explain the "why not." Welp, as someone who tries to be inclusive of the houseless population, I find it deeply disconcerting when people are rude to folks living on the streets. I understand that private restrooms reserved for customers needs to be in effect in order to maintain the sanitation, but then again showing some kindness and hospitality to ALL, really matters. This woman in her 30s came in saying that she was on her "moon time," asking to use the restroom and she was met with hostility. One of the waitresses yelled, "This is a RESTAURANT." After the woman angrily yelled back about her human anatomy not being her fault nor choice, another customer got up and slammed the door shut. He was very aggressive and I immediately felt uncomfortable. I was sick, and in deep need of the caldo de pollo I had just ordered. Now, don't get me wrong, the servers and people in the restaurant were super sweet to ME and to their customers, but to me, how houseless people are treated, MATTERS. I would have bought that woman a jamaica if it meant she could have used the bathroom while on her period. I LOVED my soup and wanted to go back tomorrow with my boyfriend, but after he heard how they treat houseless people on the street, he suggested we find another restaurant to eat our sopa. I wanted to give you all 5 stars, but please start treating houseless folks with DIGNITY. If you're not going to let them use the restroom, then at least be KIND about it. How you treat the most vulnerable factions of society is truly a reflection on what kind of people you all truly are. How we treat our neighbors, houseless or not, reflects on US. May Creator or God or whatever higher power you believe in, help you see yourselves in EVERY single houseless person outside of your restaurant, because someday that could be YOU, or ME. And if you need to change your maxipad while on your period and folks treat you the way ya'll treated that woman on Tuesday night, I know it would kill your spirit. Customer service is top-notch ! They are very peppy and happy to have you even if it's 9AM in the morning :) Meals come with a complimentary basket or two of salsa and chips. Beef quesadilla was TO DIE FOR. So so so so so good. Shrimp and jaiva cocteles were soOo amazing as well. Generous portions and great prices. And the server was nice enough to bring us banuelos. Sorry if I butchered the spelling but again, those were a nice touch to end our breakfast. AS you walk in you are greeted by the friendly waitresses, they normally have you take a seat wherever you'd like. Upon seating your waitress brings you over chips(hooray for green & red chips!) and salsa. The chips are always nice and warm, and the salsa is soooo good. You get green salsa (medium spice) red salsa (with a kick) and the best pico de gallo you have ever tasted! This place uses vegetable shortening instead of lard! They have vegetarian and some vegan options (not on the menu). Another plus is their tasty micheladas! They open at 8AM daily (perfect for hangovers). I had been here once, more than a year ago and wasn't impressed by it at all. I had the chicken fajitas, which comes with the usual rice and beans. I judge all Mexican places based on how good the rice is. Maybe it was just over cooked that day and usually its amazing? I don't know. I got full really fast because I had more than enough of the chips and salsa (served warm with 3 different salsas) but next time, I'll definitely wait for my meal. I don't want to tell the whole world about this place (might get too crowded) but I also want to share my experiences there. What do I like there? The "Grill for Two" menu item (around $20 but can feed 3 easy). And it's fantastic. It's just good. The menu indicates Authentic Mexican Food and Seafood, and there are different touches here and there compared to typical place. I learned about the place from a coworker a while back. Now I bring work-related visitors here as often as I can (so I can eat the Grill for Two! No way can I eat it all alone). Their tacos are addictive, moist with fresh shredded meats and the one place that even the chicken taco tastes great (usually I find it dry in other places). Greasy? A bit. But it's good grease, you won't get sick from these. Also heard good comments about burritos and other dishes (haven't tried them yet, been addicted to tacos and Grill for Two, and that's mucho satisfying for me right now). The service?
