I've been to Lost DTLA about 4 times and each time is a vibe! There is a different DJ each time and the music never disappoints. My fave dish is quesadilla with mushrooms.. The drinks can use a little working on. During the weekend more waitress and waiters are needed. I gave it a 4 because one of my times I visited they over charged me and I tried to find a number to call them and they didn't have one. I was stuck with the charge. read more

Admittedly, I only visited due to a friend selecting this spot for their birthday celebration. But I was pleasantly pleased with this spot. The crow was a bit younger and the live music added to the vibe. I feel that Lost could benefit from larger bars and at least double the number of bartenders, as the wait time was unusually long. Since we didn't eat, I cannot comment on the options or offerings. I'll give it another try one of these days. read more

I was in LA for the weekend which serendipitously coincided with Lost DTLA's opening weekend to the public. The rooftop was perfect just before sunset and I appreciated the fire pits and heat lamps. The staff were super lovely and engaging and I really liked my cocktail. Next time I come, I'd skip the tacos and would just go for chips and guacamole or the mushroom quesadilla which also tempted me. I also really appreciated that they had a nice selection of nonalcoholic cocktails. Will definitely return! read more

I came to Lost--and they lost me. FOREVER ! They will never find me again. The only person who truly deserves respect in that entire building is Kayla, the bathroom attendant. An absolute angel. I accidentally left my phone in the bathroom--she held onto it and returned it to me without hesitation. We had a moment of real human kindness. She's a gem. She deserves everything good. If anyone should be the face of that place, it's her. Keep her forever. The host? Great vibe. Solid energy. Made me feel welcome. Specifically the gay guy. Not the girl. The server? Decent. Nothing to complain about. SECURITY- BIG ISSUE. I'd advise on an entire review of entire security staff. The manager? Hmm. Somewhat okay, but could definitely use a few courses in emotional intelligence and guest recovery. I was disrespected at your establishment and didn't even receive a real apology. A free drink? That doesn't erase the vibe I had to sit with all night. You don't get to mistreat people and then casually patch it with alcohol. I'm a king, not a tab to comp. So yes--maybe there were a few attempts to make it right. But they fell short. And when it comes to me, falling short is not an option. You don't get a second chance at respect. So, again.I came to Lost. And you lost me. Save your money. And your time. Don't bring your friends. Especially if you are a person of color and bring your business elsewhere. Btw the reason the were trying to deny me entry even after i had a table upstairs and only had 1 weak drink, 1 Red Bull and a water. Really fun rooftop bar in the heart of DTLA. READ THE DRESS CODE. They're not playing around with that. And make a reservation ahead of time to get a guaranteed no wait table. Aside from that though, the food was very tasty, the space beautiful, the vibes immaculate and the music amazing. Only critique I have is that the drinks were just ok. Not bad, but not amazing either. The menu price point is on the higher end, but you're paying for ambiance as much as anything else. The negative reviews from others seem to be coming from folks who simply did not read and/or adhere to the dress code, which they place directly on their website, or from people who seem to not like Issa Rae personally. Not sure what that's about, but my friends and I (party of 4 with a reservation) had a great time! Highly recommend. read more

Really wanted to love this place. My friend booked us a table for four at 9:30. We were a little late and arrived at 9:40. The host told us they were a little behind and to grab a drink at the bar and she would find us when our table was ready. 10:15 rolls around and we check in again. The host told us the same thing, so we grab another drink. 11pm hits and we are starving. We realize there is no way we are getting a table and decided to leave disappointed. The staff were all kind and the drinks, while slightly overpriced were good. This place has a very LA vibe, prepare to hear a lot of name dropping. Would I go again? Maybe in a few months when the hype has died down. For now, there are other rooftops bars in the area I'll hit up instead. read more

the food was amazing, they're considered small plates but this was plenty of food for my and my boyfriend, we didn't even finish. the drinks were food and strong. and the vibes are amazing, it's a rooftop location so the view of the skyline is nice. read more

The 2 stars I'm giving are for the vibe and atmosphere because it was immaculate but what is not cool is the extra charges I was charged (receipt included with post). Never in my life have I been charged for tajin( that the waitress suggested I get) and I was charged twice for it. Mind you my bill was for 4 drinks total and Alot of extra stuff was added. Also we were charged for "large party" and it says 8 people on my check and it was only 7. $118 for 4 drinks is ridiculous when all we got were basically margaritas. read more

I was initially skeptical when I saw that they only offered tacos and quesadillas as main meals. However, the steak quesadilla was very tasty and filling. This place is unique in that it looks upscale but has a very hangout / social vibe. Everything about this seems intentional which I appreciate. There is a good amount of standing room incase you don't get a reservation. I would recommend getting one just for the comfort but it isn't necessary and the food is available with or without one. also the music was a good selection of 90's /early 2000s (until it became something I didn't recognize on a Saturday). I would definitely go back and maybe try a different night just see jf there is a difference. Also wait staff and hostess were really nice and accommodating after we missed our reservation time due to elevator delay. read more

My review is really for the security team! Quick entry, great personalities, extremely helpful. I left From the rooftop to grab a bite to eat a couple doors down (which security recommended). When I came back there was a group of girls in line who were being loud and yes I'm gonna say it, ghetto! Security pointed to one of the women's shoes and said they couldn't come in. The rest of us in line were so thankful because you could already tell it was gonna be an issue upstairs and it wasn't that type of party. This type of discretion and discernment is so important to keep these establishments nice and classy. Thank you to the security team who even made sure to keep us away from a crazy ranting transient as we waited for our uber home! Definitely going back! This will be the summer staple!!! read more

Very Disappointed with service, drove all the way out from Long Beach to support and check out what we thought was a dope place. The policy is also very questionable, there are a number of people that were dressed casually , jeans , sneakers, however my group was not allowed entry due to one of the ladies in my group having fancy sandals, which she wears due to comfort because of recent surgery, despite us explaining this to the security there was no understanding or anything, makes no sense at all being that the website does not note that sandals are not allowed and that everyone is dressed casually. This is probrably the most uncomfortable place you could spend your evening going out. The security do WAY TOO MUCH at the front outside and extremely rude, even the hostess. If you have a reservation or table they will tell you to wait in the regular line, meanwhile random people will walk up saying the same thing and they'll let them skip. The nonalcoholic drinks inside are literally the exact same price as the cocktails with alcohol in it, vibe is blah, staff is rude. I give it a year before they're closed read more

Checked out this place on a Friday and the vibe was nice. Beautiful views and people. The drinks were typically priced but the pours were small. I ordered wine and they didn't have wine glasses and the pour was tiny. A little disappointing considering it was $14 . Food was ok but I wouldn't come here to eat. I've always loved this place, which is why I booked a table and invited many people to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately, the security staff completely ruined the experience. Their lack of hospitality and unprofessional behavior was unacceptable--I was disrespected and humiliated in front of my guests. My reservation was canceled simply because I used the word "dumb" to describe their behavior, and they made me apologize as if we were in kindergarten. They later reinstated my reservation, but by then, the vibe was already destroyed. To make matters worse, my guests were turned away at the door for ridiculous reasons. At one point, I was even told I had "too many guests upstairs" when, in reality, I had none at my table. This place is not that serious, but security is single-handedly ruining it. They turned what should have been a great night into a frustrating and disappointing experience. I'll never come back, and I wouldn't wish this treatment on anyone. People should be warned--this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. read more

After doing research and wanting to come and support business, I made plans to visit last night with my woman and friends.  We found the building and parking but couldn't find how to enter the rooftop bar??? We asked and tried to enter the building, but the door was closed.  We saw men coming out of the door and asked them, they had no idea.  We tried the elevator and it wouldn't allow any floor to be chosen.  We called the numbers available and no answer.  We tried the QR codes, no luck.  There was at least 15 customers trying to enter and pay for your services.  The website said OPEN from 5 to 12, I believe.  I drove from Orange County to support you.  Is there any reason why we couldn't find and or enter your business last night? Today I'm trying to contact someone and the e mail, phone number and other contacts are all dead. John read more

The ambiance is great. Beautiful space. Everything else is not so great. I had an 8:30 reservation. Lost sent me multiple reminders that they have a 15 minute grace period, after which our reservation would be canceled. I arrived at 8:32p. My entire party was with me upon arrival. They asked me to get a drink at the bar while they cleared a table. At 8:50p, I walked back to the host stand at which time the hostess told me I would be seated. They walked me and another party to be seated, only to seat the other party (who arrived after me), but not me because there were still people seated at the table that they were meant to clear out 20+ minutes ago. Finally at 9:00p, I was finally seated with my party. The food was OK but there is better Mexican cuisine in LA for much less money. read more

I'll start with the fact that there's a long line and wait to get inside. The music, staff, and ambiance were nice but the drinks were absolutely trash. Our drinks were so so bad. Cocktails and nights out are so expensive nowadays so theres nothing worse than paying for a terrible drink plus tip. They also only had 3 beers on their menu. Wouldn't come back. Our group waited in line for an hour and a half. Some of our group were let in and said the ambiance wasn't even worth the wait. The staff and security were very rude. After asking if there's anything we can do to let the final people of our group in (keep in mind they've been waiting at the front of the line for about 45 mins and are next to enter and the line hasn't moved) Lost said if we pay $1000 they would let our friends in. PLEASE read this I have no idea how to reach anyone from this team and I really would like to discuss this. Hi Issa, I hope you're well. I visited your bar LOST in LA on February 15th for my 25th birthday celebration, specifically choosing your establishment to support Black-owned businesses. While I understand wait times are normal, I experienced several infuriating issues I'd like to bring to your attention: 1. Security guards allowed people to cut the 35-40 minute line by paying extra , which felt discriminatory against the regular people who had been waiting. We heard a security guard specifically say "oh they are willing to pay, lets let them in" 2. A security guard unnecessarily confronted my brother with hostile remarks, asking if he was "going to be a problem" when all my brother did was say he wanted to go in at the same time as his girlfriend. 3. Despite conflicting information from security about whether or not my group could enter or not, my party was repeatedly separated while larger groups were admitted ahead of us. After an hour and half of waiting for my group, we politely asked about our remaining four members, and we were abruptly turned away and told there was a $1,000 minimum. As someone who specifically chose LOST to support you and support black entrepreneurs, these experiences were extremely disappointing. Nobody was asking for any special treatment, just to be treated fairly and respectfully. Instead it just felt very discriminatory and discourteous, especially in a place where I thought could be considered a safe space. However maybe I was wrong to do so. read more

Only complain on why the low rating is due to the newest manager. Came last night for the event on Saturday Dec 14th 2024. LANCE, THE HEAD OF SECURITY was offering bribes to allow people to skip to line. This ranged between $50 to $60 to $75. He said when the line gets longer, the price increases. Multiple people paid him. When they didn't have cash, he accepted Venmo, cash app or Apple Pay. I was standing right by him watching this unfold. Upstairs, an argument ensued and I personally witnessed the security guard with the black beanie, hit a woman who was a guest. The entire team at that point were very forceful, pushing and shoving that guest's friend group and ousting them toward the elevator. The rooftop space is quite small. There's only 1 small elevator up, and one back down. They said the stairs weren't operational for anyone to use which is also a fire hazard. read more
