So this place is a stone throw away from Pike Place Market. We came to grab a bite just before they closed. The place is nicely decorated with a rustic fisherman vibe, with the neons of Pike Place in the window. First thing you need to get over is the sticker shock. The 8 oz lobster roll is $54. I bought 3 for me and my big boys. So the Pike place larger was amazing. The lobster is on a sweet, creamy, toasted bun. The lobster meat was fresh, creamy, perfectly seasoned. One of the best lobster roll I had, and I have had them in Maine, Rhode Island, Boston, San Diego, and central California. I walked back to my hotel near pioneer square and quickly dug in. I wasn't fan of the bisque but I can see why it's a popular item. The trio all had claw meat, it came with a warm butter, truffle butter, spicy honey. My favorite was the classic warm butter. Spicy honey tasted like a sweet chili sauce... truffle butter was the oil taste to me. Free bag of chips with order of the rolls. Choice of reg or salt and vinegar... We got the lobster flight which is 2oz of lobster meat in 3 sandwiches with different flavors for $47. We got the clam chowder $11 which was tasty but nothing phenomenal according anything out of the ordinary. I do think the prices are steep for lobster rolls. The lowest price is $30 for 4oz of lobster meat. I'm spoiled back home with good lobster rolls that don't cost this much. You'd think being close to the fish market, prices would in theory be better but seems more inflated. The flavors were truffle butter, spicy honey, and lemon butter which honestly didn't stand out much. It's the touristy place to go but I wouldn't go again. They do use big lobsters but it seemed like mostly claw meat. I hate the rubbery parts of the claws so that's probably why I didn't care for it much. I have lived near this lobster place since it opened. I tried the lobster roll flight and it wasn't my thing. But, it has stayed in business, for a while now. I wanted some soup and ordered the bowl of lobster bisque. About $15. It was a broth type bisque with 2 small pieces of lobster. Literally like a cup of broth. I took it home and had to "doctor it up with some port wine to give it a balanced flavor. Otherwise it is like a broth soup with a translucent onion or celery and not much more. Pike place chowder is such a better choice!! Go down a block or two. That's what soup is supposed to taste like!! Happy new year to all!! Also why would you sell lobster that is imported from the east coast? We have seafood here! The management response was hilarious!! "You don't see the lobster because it is puréed!
