Martha got the pizza which she enjoyed & brought home extra slices for lunch the next day. I got mashed potatoes as a side, which were really good. CON - I ordered a Chicken Caesar wrap and asked for "extra dressing". Boy did I get EXTRA dressing. So much it was dripping out & pooling on the plate. I could only eat half of it, the wrap was so wet & dripping. My mistake for asking for extra. Was sort of hoping for a small container on the side to dip into. Everything our waiter recommend we got it so we can taste and share among all of us. Everything was delicious except the drinks. We both very much enjoyed lunch at Luk's. We sat outside on the patio at a high top table. There was a good selection of both beer and wine by the glass. The waitress was very nice and responsive to our needs. He had the Steak Gorgonzola Alfredo, it was thick and creamy, the steak was done medium rare -to his liking. I had the Pasta Primavera and added chicken. There were plenty of summer vegetables, the chicken was grilled perfectly, done but still moist. We would return. read more

Stopped in for lunch, first time there and it was all very good! Hostess gave us seating options and sat us promptly. If it was warmer, I would have chosen the outdoor seating, maybe next time. The server was very friendly, and polite. Our meals were delivered promptly. The Chicken Parm on Ciabatta was delicious. I only ate half and when that was reheated for dinner it was still excellent. My dining partner had Greek salad and a soft pretzel, both got the thumbs up. Areas to improve: The French fries could be better. Had an old grease taste. This much needed bar n restaurant fills a major void in the greater Hudson downtown area. Hudson is notoriously lacking fine dining options for its residents and occasional visitors. Instead of abandoning the effort Luks (formerly valintinos) steps up to the plate and consistently delivers a great value. Went to Luk's tonight as I was looking forward to the steak on a stone they have. We last had it right before the restaurants closed down for the virus. Its been 7 months or so, and we finally made it back. We both asked for coffee. Both of us said this coffee is stale. It tasted like rocket fuel. I told the waitress and she said it could be the kind of coffee they serve. I said no its been on the burner way too long. I asked her to make another pot and the coffee was much better. We asked for bread and she said they don't have any. We had to ask for water. I looked at the menu and the steak on a stone no longer featured the 12 oz. ribeye or 12 oz. strip steak. Instead they had a 8 oz. Coulette steak and an 8 oz Hangar steak. You wouldn't mind but the price of the hangar was 25.99 and Coulette 22.99. The last time I went I had ordered the 12 oz. strip for 25.99. They didn't have any more strip steaks so gave me a ribeye instead same price. You now get a third less, and cheaper cut and quality for the same price. I didn't opt for the steak on a stone I was so looking forward to and got the Chicken Piccata instead. It was ok. The mashed potatoes and broccoli had capers and lemon sauce all over them. Had I known I would have got on a separate dish. Hubby got the Veal Parmesan he really loved last time we were there. Last time he got 2 big pieces, the veal was super tender and the coating stayed on the veal. This time he got 1 piece instead of 2, the coating completely fell of the veal and left a mushy mess on the plate and the veal was tough. It was a dollar more than last time 18.99. Now a dollar more is nothing, but when coupled with less quantity and less quality... it's a lot. The service from the waitress was horrible and her tip reflected it. And she never said thank you when she handed us the bill. I realize the Covid virus has put restaurants in a bad position as they had to close for a time. I don't think the way to re-coop the money they lost is to take advantage of their customers. Giving less quality, quantity, cut out things like serving bread and offering crappy service is just driving the customers to other restaurants. I have been back to my favorite restaurants since they shut down and they are the same quality and quantity. Thank God this restaurant doesn't reflect the majority of other restaurants. read more

A return visit to Luk's recently gave us the same great experiences we have had before. The pretzel appetizer is a good choice for when you're checking out the substantial menu. Four people in our party this time, and we had more than enough choices to suit our tastes. Eggplant parm is the best around. Mandarin salad is perfect for a light lunch. Fish and Chips and Margherita pizza rounded out our choices, both delicious and expertly presented. There over 2 1/2 hours, had to bring dessert home to go before my kids fell asleep. We got there at 330 and didnt leave until 6. Kitchen was behind due to call ins. My daughter's burger came out wrong and took 45 minutes to get a new burger. Drinks were horrible. Paid $0 .25 extra for dirty martini. Clear and no olives. Didn't want to send anything else back since took forever. Management should have stopped taking take out orders to actually feed the people in the restaurant. Luk's Bar & Grill opened 2 weeks ago in the former Town Tavern space in Hudson, serving lunch and dinner. The food menu offerings consist of traditional pub fare, pizza and a few Italian dishes including steaks, seafood, chicken, fried baskets, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and appetizers. The menu is still a work in progress and more choices will be added. The prices are moderate, most burgers & sandwiches $10-$13 and most dinners $16-$20. I stopped in here after work and sat up at the bar to watch sports highlights on the flat screen TVs. The bar offers 16 beers on tap, wine, and cocktails. I ordered the Sweet Potato Veggie Burger ($10 plus tax) served with fries and dill pickle spear. I was told they ran out of fried scallops and fried pickles. My food arrived within 10 minutes. The Veggie Burger had a soft sweet potato grain patty topped with melted cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and red pepper aiolo on a soft toasted brioche bun. The fries were typical, deep fried golden and salted. I was given extra mayo. The food tasted pretty good! The service was prompt and friendly. read more

It's one thing to enforce policies. It's another to do so loudly in front of other guests to a point where the guests are staring at you and rolling their eyes. The establishment was more willing to lose business of frequent regular paying customers than to practice discretion and respect. I went with my husband for the first time in years and everything was fantastic. Our server (can't remember her name--but she was very pleasant and knowledgeable) recommended their zingy Asian sauce for our wings and they did not disappoint one bit. When Jay first opened the food and service was 5 star. Not so much now! Ordered chicken wings for appetizer, they were served basically raw, so they replaced them but I could not get over how they previously served them. My fiancé and I go here quite a lot. We love the Asian chili cauliflower wings, which is the main reason we keep going back. For dinners, we've tried everything. Pizza is good, but I've had better. The chicken parm is good, the salads are great. We kept going back because the food is good, but we couldn't find anything we love. BUT, that changed last night! I got the Buddha Bowl with chicken and my fiancé got a burger and we were both blown away! Delishhhhhh. They Had A Canvas Picture Made Of My Favorite Picture Of My Husband And I Along With A Gift Certificate To Luk's For $150.00 Also $100.00 Nail Certificate And A Vase Full Of Flowers And A Card With Cash.
