The food here is delicious. The chef puts in artistic love and you can taste it as well as see the care that's put into it. Tapas are a great way to go here if you're looking to try a variety of offerings. I recently went for a weekend lunch with my family. The only parking is valet which they can validate for you. The service was decent for the most part. Food looked great and was very delicious, but that is probably the only positive thing about this place. We waited quite a while for our drinks to come. Then even much longer for our dishes. I found myself constantly looking around for our server to ask for things. Keep in mind the restaurant was not that busy at that time. Additionally, the soup in one of our orders was served to us completely cold. And as we finally got our bill and paid, the server didn't even bother saying goodbye or thank you. I don't think I would come back to this place even though the food was good. Not a pleasant experience overall. read more

I love new restaurants and this is a relatively new comer to a new development near the Westfield Shopping Center and City Hall. Located inside an elegant hotel, this restaurant has both Japanese and European cuisine and wonderful service. Fortunately, DineLA includes Melange in its list of participating restaurants, and includes a delicious selection of salad, fish, veal and dessert. The atmosphere is classy, with a wall stocked with wines of all kinds, and private dining rooms upstairs for those special occasions with family and friends. If you enjoy High Tea or weekend brunch, that can be had too! If you're a light eater, there are small plates like tapas, or shareable dishes, which priced accordingly. I find this restaurant competitive with those found in Beverly Hills or the Southbay, but with the convenience of being close to home. You still have more than a week to enjoy DineLA specials, so try something new for your palette! read more

The first thing I want to mention is how amazing the staff in this restaurant is. They are extremely attentive and very knowledgeable regarding the food and drinks they serve. The Esquite, which is something I'm used to eating regular as a Mexican woman, was elevated and was so delicious. It had a lemon taste to it, and they tossed the corn in the mayonnaise before putting it in the bowl. They added some delicious cheese, and the hot cheetos on top complimented the corn very well. I drank a sweet treat, which reminded me of a chocolate Buzz Ball. I loved having dinner there so much. My boyfriend and I decided to have breakfast there too. For breakfast, I got the ricotta pancakes with another ingredient that I can not remember, but they were so Fluffy, savory, and refreshing. The butter was presented adorably. I do wish they gave more syrup, but that's just because I love a lot of syrup. Their orange juice was so delicious, too, and tasted freshly squeezed. It was a bit expensive as the dinner was roughly over $90 for 2 of us, and the breakfast was $65 for 2 of us. The price is well worth it, though. read more

I originally posted this for Longitude 118, but for some reason I received an email from Yelp today, 4/11/22, that said my review was removed because it didn't look like my content depicted an experience at this location. When I made reservations, it was for Longitude 118, but if it's not for here, then it's Mélange then. Here is my original review: I was excited to take my mom out to try this place for high tea, since it's located in our hometown on a Saturday afternoon. When we arrived, the hotel was nice and had a nice modern ambiance. We didn't know where to check in, but we went to the bar area, and they had someone come get us. High tea was next to the bar, and we sat on some couches. Couches were nice, and it was fairly quiet, maybe just 2 other tables doing high tea. There were 2 servers, a male and a younger female. The younger lady took over our table after the gentleman seated us, and even though she was really nice, you could tell she was unorganized, and was not trained on what was on the menu. We ordered the Classic High Tea at $55pp, and chose the matcha tea, and the Hong Kong milk tea. It took probably 25 min just to get our tea out, and they came only in a coffee type cup, and no tea pot to refill. When asked if the tea was refillable, she said no, unless we didn't like it, then she could bring something else out to replace it. Hmmm, that's pretty odd to say. Before ordering, I noticed there was a finger sandwich that had smoked salmon. When asked if I could switch out that item for something else because I'm pregnant, she said the kitchen couldn't do that because everything is already pre-made to a specific quantity. Our actual food didn't come out till maybe another 15-20 min, so if everything is already pre-made, why did our food not come out until a total of roughly 40 some minutes later from the time we ordered? When the tea snacks came out, the waitress tried explaining what was on the tiers. She got half of them wrong, and had to make up what some items were. She said one of the sweet items were filled with something, which was not, didn't know what the white chocolate dessert was, and didn't know that one of the items was called a madeleine. In addition, what was described on the menu was not what was brought out. The menu should've stated , or the waitress should've said that the items may be different on what is printed on the menu. Also, the finger sandwiches were not finger sandwiches. They were more like little hor'dourves. There was only one item between two little pieces of bread, which was hard and stale. In conclusion, I will never come back here. I don't mind the price of $55 pp ($110 for 2 ppl), but make the actual food good, and train your staff. The desserts were overly sweet, finger sandwiches were a joke on how small they were, it didn't taste good, and the teas weren't refillable. You might as well take the time to drive to the Peninsula Hotel in Los Angeles to have high end tea time there, or go to Chado in Pasadena. read more

Hate to put a business on blast nowadays as I know we're all trying to make it out here and I also know that prices are cranked up since everyone is going out for Valentines day but eating here still felt downright predatory. I felt violated! Valentines day pre fixe dinner for 2 with 1 cocktail and 1 mocktail came out to $250 including tip and the food was abysmal. Like typical asians we usually take pictures of our food, especially when we go out to nice restaurants but everything was embarrassingly bad. We actually felt bad for the other couples around us too, i kept thinking these folks came out dressed up to have a nice evening out to eat this joke of a meal. And I knew very early on that I fucked up when the first course came out. The sashimi carpaccio was 6 raggedly cut pieces of fish swimming in a puddle of sauce. It was so inelegantly presented and I don't think I'm a snob or one who particular cares for plating. Like when it came out I remember thinking "ah shit, I'm about to waste $200+ tonight" It was just that badly executed... Next course, the lobster crabcake, was a salt bomb. I don't even care to elaborate further than that. The sea bass looked like something I whipped up while drunk in college. The cuts of all the food was so bizarre. Like they were torn? Do they not have a knife in the kitchen here? It looked like 2 chicken tenders on top of playdoh. What's funny is at this point in the meal for the table next to us the guy just suddenly got up and asked for the check lol. The "seabass" dish was left virtually uneaten by him and his girl. My wife and I discussed doing the same but it's valentines day and I'm not trying to cause a scene. I could see other diners around us equally getting upset or being unimpressed. I just felt so bad for the people who kept coming in. Like a majority of the tables seemed to be unhappy so I don't think I'm over exaggerating here. Did I mention that the whole meal took over 2 hours? I get the portion sizes are meant to be small and we've eaten at plenty of nice places across LA. The thing is, is that usually the size of the portion is made up for by having an awesome or unique tasting experience... The food was all absolutely amateur. I don't think I've ever said that about any food in my life! I think the dessert literally includes a sugar cookie from vons. Absolute highway robbery! The staff were all doing their best and I don't blame them but I just can't help but feel that whoever set the menu really wanted to prey on couples wanting to enjoy a nice dinner together on Valentines. It's a special evening once a year and price really shouldn't matter, but the experience needs to at least be moderately in line with the price. I'd have been upset to pay $50 for this slop let alone $250! In the end, we decided to go grab Tommys after because the meal was so wholly unsatisfying. It didn't ruin our evening it was just disappointing in so many ways. The icing on the cake is that as I was leaving I walked in on a couple in the mens bathroom. At least they were enjoying their valentines day!!! Goes to show what a classy place this is ... Nice brunch spot tucked away in the hotel across from the Santa Anita racetrack! The variety on the brunch menu is relatively modest, however everything we tried was delicious. I love that the menu items were classic brunch items but with an Asian twist. The chicken and waffles was probably my favorite. The Japanese style fried chicken was so delicious and juicy, and the fried batter was light and had a nice crunch. I also really enjoyed the smoked salmon on flatbread with wasabi. The Nutella French toast was also amazing, especially if you have a sweet tooth. For dessert, the matcha basque cheesecake was delicious. The flavor of the matcha really came though nicely. Here for Mother's Day because mom loves the high tea setting. They have one set menu for $80 per person. One pot of tea. Four bite sized savory food. Eight sweet treats. Since this was an Asian fusion restaurant there were no finger sandwiches. Overall the variety was great but the flavor of the food was mediocre. The interior design of the hotel where this restaurant sits is beautiful. Modern and hip. But somehow the lobby smelled like someone microwaved fish. I suspect it's one of the high tea dish. With little surprise the total after taxes tip and a fee it was $104 per person. It's kind of steep for the experience. I brought my best friend for afternoon tea as a birthday celebration. Everything was delicious! The fall themed tier was adorable and tasty. The overall portion size was actually large for a French high tea. We were quite full. We each tried one of the specially tea lattes. Hers was Hong Kong style, and mine was the jasmine matcha. They were wonderfully crafted. We enjoyed having the loose leaf teas presented to us so we could see and smell them. That was fun. The signature blends smell wonderful. Next time I'll try one of those, but it was so hard to pass up the Jasmin matcha latte this time My only critique would be to serve larger scones and less sweets. I definitely came expecting a full sized scone, but instead they served four bite sized scones in two flavors. Not terrible, but not my preference. Came here for brunch with my friend and sister! We made reservations for 1:15 on Saturday. Melange is located inside of Le Meridien Hotel. There's valet parking but you do get the first 3 hours validated. This restaurant is cute and aesthetic. However, it's smaller than I thought. They offer infused Asian flavors food. We got the Organic Acai Bowl ($12) and Chicken Kaarage and Waffles ($24). Presentation was nicely arranged. Both of our brunch dishes were great! Service was also friendly and fast. A nice restaurant for a hotel, but not a place I would go out of my way for. read more

I stay at Le Meridien hotel often for work and the highlight of my trip is always eating at Melange. Tonight my favorite part about dinner was my server Andrew. He knew the plates so well and had many helpful recommendations! He was so friendly, attentive, and was running the restaurant taking care of customers when it was busy. The steak is always cooked to perfection, the seafood is beyond quality (loved the crispy skin on my salmon and skin on braised shrimp cocktail!), vegetables are always crisply fresh, and they have seasonal selections so the menu never gets old. The decor is nice and love the high ceilings. The service was good. They initially put us at a table next to a huge party (maybe 20?) and they were so so so loud that I couldn't even hear the person sitting right next to me. We asked to switch to a table away from the large party but it was still noisy, but bearable. We got the quail, ny steak, scallops, and sea bass. Only the steak came with a side of scalloped potatoes, everything else didn't come with any sides. I thought the entrees would at least come with a small portion of veggies? Quail was ok. Skin was crispy and theist was tender, but the sauce was weird. Scallops were really good. The uni sauce was delicious. It only comes with 2 scallops though. I thought there'd be at least 3 or have sides for the price. Sea bass was delicious and cooked perfectly. Probably our favorite dish of the meal. Ny steak was pretty bad. We asked for medium rare and it was more medium. Parts of the steak was tough to chew. The sauces, a ginger one and I can't remember the other one, were both weird and don't complement the steak I think. The side of scalloped potatoes it came with, we didn't care for either. Nothing particularly wrong with it, it just didn't taste good. Valet parking only. $10 for 3 hr with validation. I think it's $28 overnight. Overall, I thought it was pretty overpriced. I get that you're paying for the setting as well, but taking that into consideration, it's still overpriced. I'm comparing this to another restaurant at a nearby 5 star hotel which also has beautiful decor and similar pricing. Their food portions are bigger and the food is simply better. Don't think we'll be back for melange, but might check out the lounge next door, it opens up to a very beautiful green space. read more

The ginger ice cream and apple pie was the perfect way to end the dinner. The service was excellent - we loved our waitress Amina who was very hospitable. Beautiful and upscale restaurant with service and flavors to match! Mélange is my new favorite place for dinner and the new Le Meridien hotel is gorgeous! The service is also top notch here. Upon arrival, valet is quick and professional, Ricardo our host, greeted us with a friendly and welcoming smile. I also love the ambience of the restaurant and how the tables are set in a way where you don't feel like you're in the next table's conversation! Our server Erik was amazing! He was friendly, attentive, and really took the time to make sure we were enjoying our meal. One of the managers, Tessy even stopped by our table to check on us! Eddie our busser made sure our table was always clear and ready for our next meal. We started off with the Crispy Oysters, Garlic Noodles, and the Grilled Baby Romaine. I would buy the sauce in those Crispy Oysters! It was so good that we were dipping our noodles in it lol! Next, we shared the Tuna Tataki, Sautéed Scallops w/ Uni, Chilean Sea Bass, and Lamb Chops. My girlfriend and I can eat! Our food came out timely and fresh so big kudos to the kitchen! It is family style here so I recommend breaking up your meal like we did with some small plates, then moving on to the larger items. The flavors in every dish are impeccable. The sauce in the tuna is delicious and refreshing, the sea bass melts in your mouth like butter, the scallops are perfectly cooked and seasoned along with the lamb chops! I don't know how we had room but we managed to squeeze in gelato for dessert. I suggest the yuzu, ube and matcha combo! So yummy and the perfect way to end our meal! I read that the Executive Chef comes from the likes of Wolfgang Puck and Spago. As well as running his own restaurant in Beverly Hills, you can definitely taste his talent in the menu. Man was her personality infectious. Her light was so bright. She found us a seat of our preference and we enjoyed every bit of our night with her as or host. Such a joy. Average at best with a lot of potential. Not your typical high tea with significantly smaller portions and more desserts than the usual scones or sandwiches to accompany other delectable's. Teas were great but service was slow initially, waited to be greeted, waited for food, teas took longer than usual. They require reservations but we were the only ones there. Recommend they tweak their $80 menu, price is not the issue, lack of substantial food definitely. So much so we had to order from their lunch menu to supplement the high tea options. They need to heavily promote their high tea so it creates a buzz and vibe to draw more people. We were literally the only people there. We ate Easter brunch here and the food and ambiance was amazing. Melange is located in the Le Meridien in Arcadia right across from the Santa Anita Race track and a couple streets away from the Santa Anita Shops. The Easter bunny came also for a visit and we were able to get some memorable and cute photos. We loved the ambiance with the lighting and spacious seating area and enjoyed that it was quiet. The plush seating was a plus as well too. We each got the 3 course meal for Easter and it included an appetizer (Chinese salad, parfait or avocado toast), main course (trio Japanese sandwich, ube waffles and chicken karage, banana french toast rolls w/ nutella, and the American breakfast with choice of carb, 2 eggs, potatoes and meat), and of course delicious cake. I loved my American style breakfast and we enjoyed the ube pancakes with moist and flavorful karage. We loved the service here and got coffee and earl grey tea which paired nicely with the meal. Thank you Tes and your team for a great dining experience. My son loved the waffle with mixed berries and devoured the whole plate. Had such an amazing night here, we started at the cocktail lounge and I had the gimlet which was chilled and made to perfection served with a smile from Boula our wonderful server! Michelle our hostess was incredibly sweet and sat us in a beautiful comfortable area, perfect for our girls night out. We pretty much ordered half the menu bc why not, everything sounded delicious!!! The yellowtail was fresh, light and yet so flavorful, fried oysters were delicious and the sauce was to die for! Then we had the seared scallops with the uni which was honestly the best uni have ever had! The grilled romaine salad with the toppings was incredible. The harami was presented beautifully and was seasoned, crisp and juicy paired with 2 savory sauces. Let me tell you the sea bass was buttery, flaky cooked to perfection! Our last entree was the Wagyu topped with gold flakes and good lord it was a revelation, top notch!!! 100000x Compliments to Chef Mako, I was honored to have such an amazing meal! Jiaqi the manager was amazing she came to greet us and made sure our night was unforgettable which it really was. Very authentic and fusion flavors. Cocktails are well balance and wonderful presentation. Although they seemed busy, all staff were very kind. I'd suggest to order everything family style and order a variety of dishes. Just so much to taste and we got really full at the end. We had the chicken, whole fish and octopus salad. My husband took me here for Vday dinner tonight. We were so disappointed! Let's start with the menu...our ONLY option was their pre fix 5 course meal which was $85 per person. The pre fix was actually shared. How can you share 5 course tapa style for 2 people? The portion size were so small! The table next to us asked for more food but the waitress told him the regular menu was not available. The food itself wasn't too bad but we waited 20 min between each course. We sat down at 615 and left at 820. I don't mind that it was $85 per person if it's not shared. Our checked was almost 300 since we had a round of drinks and they charge 18% tips BEFORE tax which I feel like it's just wrong. I will NEVER return again. We had the Xmas dinner. Hotel/venue is very nice and the restaurant is right there on the lobby floor with an open area. Seating was well spaced out between tables. But I think their food can improve and the steaks were not very treated delicately enough. But the prix fix for Xmas was easy to manage. read more
