I am way behind on my reviews but I came here today and it was such a great experience that I had to review it right away. I had to take a family member to the Ontario airport and my hubby was in Newport and we wanted to have lunch together, specifically Mongolian BBQ. We googled to find something kind of in the middle from where we were coming from, and this was the winner. They brought out soup right away, which was tasty. The water was lemon flavored which was also tasty. We both got the AYCE option which came with an egg roll and the bun. The egg roll was excellent and hot because they make them to order. I was really pleased when I got to the ingredients. I liked how the zucchini was cut in thin slips. All of the choices were full and fresh - great presentation. I had to wing it when it came to the sauces but it came out really good! While the food was great, the service was excellent! The owners took great care of us and fulfilled our every request promptly. This isn't really an area where we ever go, but I will remember this place if we are ever nearby in the future. Love this hole in the wall place! It's really one of those, "if you know, you know" restaurants because it's rather hidden. I work in the business park next to here and always bring my coworkers for lunch. They recently changed the layout of the food where instead of you building your own bowl, the servers will do it for you and no AYCE option anymore. At first, I didn't know how to feel about this change upon walking in, but I feel you get the same amount of food, if not maybe more than when you used to fill up the bowl yourself! I don't mind the new model. Also, I feel the AYCE option never appealed to me because one bowl is already so filling! Anyway, love the family feel the owners give off here. EDIT: I am going to have to change my review due to a recent experience. Some of the workers discriminate against you based on who you are. What I mean by this is that if you are a woman, they will give you less food than if you were a man. This is one of my biggest pet peeves for restaurants. A lady was giving me less food than usual just because I was a woman. She gave the white man behind me double my amount. It was infuriating. We pay the same $15 and you think it is ok to give some people way less? Please talk to your workers and sort this. Now I just look dumb for saying the price is justifiable. With the amount I got, it is definitely NOT worth $15. The food is good, the price is justifiable, and the workers are friendly. Food: Compared to other Mongolian noodle places, this place gives you a lot of meat. It also gives less noodles compared to other places but surprisingly this isn't a negative because the ratio balances out nicely. The meat quality is also slightly better than typical Mongolian noodle places. The amount that you get is enough for 1 person to be completely full. It is not 2 days worth of food. It is a little over 1 person's amount. 1 and a quarter for an adult, I'd say. Price: It is a little less than $15 for 1 plate. Is this worth it? Considering inflation and the quality of what you get, yes. Anything over this would be too much and under would be a steal. Customer service: The workers are hard working and friendly. You can tell they put a lot of care into the food they serve. They vaguely remind me of my own parents. They give off the vibe of the hard working 1st gen Asian immigrants. Tip for customers: Their "Spicy" sauce is not spicy at all. I highly recommend you get that option instead of non-spicy as it will increase the flavor of your dish. This one is a bit pricier than others - $10 for a single bowl and soup. Extras like rice and pocket bread are extra, which are usually available included at other restaurants, and for much cheaper. One of the best Mongolian BBQ places I've been to. The pocket bread and cheese wontons were so good . The veggies and meat were fresh, unlike some of the places inside malls. I'll definitely be coming back whenever I'm in the area. This place is a hidden gem. A lot of the stores in the shopping center are closed. So, we use to come here like twice a month about 10 yrs ago (2000-2012 ish) The service was always awful, but the food was great. The place had some character and an awesome fish tank. We came most recently about 2 years ago and before that 4 yrs ago. I promise, I have a point. The time we had visited 4 yrs ago (2015 ish), the place was 100% the same. Great visit. Two years ago it seemed like it had new owners or they were trying something new. They put up these weird tree murals. The food was the same and the service was actually better. Fast forward to today. The place now lacks character and is modern boring. The positive thing is that the food is still awesome (but they only serve what was the former dinner menu...9.99 a head to start). Also, no more cute little tea pots of tea for .50 , but now you get a cup of tea with a bag for 1.50 (wont be ordering that again...the tea was not great like it was). I also missed the fish tank. Came here for dinner. Friendly staff and clean food counter. They don't have lamb and charge extra for "bay" shrimp or an egg if you want it. Staff was attentive to drink refills and made sure that all items at the bar were refilled. They don't like you using two bowls, if you are the person that likes to load up meat & veggies in one and noodles in the other. If you must, I recommend taking a napkin with you and smashing down / flattening the rolled frozen meats to allow for more room. It is all you can eat, so don't be afraid of making two trips with smaller bowl instead of trying to break Vegas with a single serving. read more

We like this restaurant a great deal. The format, which might be similar for all Mongolian barbecue restaurants, is for the customer to choose food to be stir fried on a large circular fryer. They offer three choices of meat (beef,pork and chicken), and a selection of vegetables and noodles. The vegetables include bok choy, onions, cilantro, onions, mushrooms, cabbage, water chestnuts, and bean sprouts. The five stars I gave it might be a bit generous, the interior appearance is not great IMO. But I just don't see how you could improve the food quality or the pleasantness of the wait staff. read more
