Service was excellent and they have a lot of outdoor seating (would recommend to time it when the weather is good because I think the outdoor experience is better than indoors). They also offer seasonal dishes and we got one of their dips (forgot the name but it incorporates brown butter hummus and turnips). Absolutely delectable. We also got the manti dumplings as well as their speciality drinks (Aegean white sangria and karpouzi fresco). I loved the aegenan white sangria - it tasted refreshing and had hints of apple. I can see why ordering a pitcher is an option. Even though we got a dip and a main for 2 people, I left feeling pretty full! My first time at this place and trying out Greek food! I was definitely scared I was not going to like it, but I LOVED IT! We went with a reservation, and they made us wait for about 30 minutes even though the place inside was empty. That's the only thing I didn't love about the experience. My boyfriend and I ordered to share: Turkish sampler, Ali Nazik, spicy mandolin kebab, and the Karpouzi Fresco to drink. Everything was great, but my favorite was the Ali Nazik and my least favorite was the Karpouzi Fresco. I think watermelon drinks are not my thing because it's the second time I've ordered a drink with watermelon and didn't love it. The place is beautiful, and the service was great too. Food gets a 4/5 here. Everything was good, nothing was great. We ordered the dips which should come with pita not stable bread. We asked for vegetables for the dips which was a $5 up charge which was fine until we got the plate which had 1 cucumber sliced in half, 2 small carrots and a small raw head of cauliflower. Wtf? We ordered stuffed zucchini was was good. The halloumi was good but a tad too dry. Greek salad was very good. The Ali nazik was very good but again I wish they gave us pita instead of bread. The fish was the best part of the meal but we split it amongst 4 people and it wasn't enough. You would think for a $40 whole fish it would be enough for 4 people to enjoy but it was very small. Ambiance gets a 4/5 but we were put in the corner so the above-head tarp was covering only some of us. As some point the tarp started to leak and 2 people in our party got wet. The waiters didn't seem to care very much even though they saw it. The service gets a 1/5. Our waiter was very rude when he took our order. He didn't smile, he didn't make eye contact, he gave my friend an attitude, and he didn't return until it was time to pay the bill. Mandolin was recommended to me by a fellow yelper and it is one of the best recommendations I've ever received. It is truly a fantastic restaurant with an amazing atmosphere. I highly recommend making a reservation. They have limited walk-up seating, but only for tables inside. The hostess was great and got us seated as possible, but there was still a considerable wait. To start, we ordered the bake feta and charred Brussel sprouts. The baked feta came out sizzling in a miniature cast-iron skillet and was topped with charred tomatoes, peppers and chili flakes. It was phenomenal! It came with a small basket of bread and we savored every piece. The Brussel sprouts came shredded and with a tahini sauce and picked peppers. It is a very light dish and didn't come with as charred as we expected. For our main, we split the chicken kabob and it was great! The meat was very tender and flavorful and it came with plentiful side of orzo and shredded salad. The absolute stand out was the baklava! It was probably the best I've ever had. First of all, the ambiance is super romantic, you feel like you're in a little patio in Greece. The menu has only quality ingredients. The last time I came, we ordered a delicious place of fresh vegetables that we dipped in the trip dip appetizer. The vegetables were honestly so fresh and tasty. We also ordered the branzino and the lamb. If you've never tried the manti Dumplings, you have to get them ! Pro tip: get the manti Dumplings as an appetizer to share, it's too creamy to eat all for one person, the flavor becomes too pungent. But if you're sharing it, it's incredibly delicious! You really come here for the ambience more than anything else. The one dish that stood out was the the seasoning on the grilled tiger prawns. I love Mandolin! The ambiance is wonderful, my service has been great, and the food is delicious. I came during lunch and was seated under the tree. The venue is beautiful day or night. It has a laid back atmosphere and my favorite part is that I have never been rushed to finish my meal. This is one of the few restaurants that allows you to enjoy your dining experience. We shared a few Mezes and my only issue was that it only comes with a few pita and bread. With 3/5 dishes including some kind of dip we need unlimited pita... keep them coming. The servers will happily bring you more when requested. The Greek sampler was great. It includes three dips, hummus, an eggplant dip, and tomato dip. The garden tomatoes and feta was delicious. The Halloumi was the special of the day with honey and pistachio and was so good. The zucchini chips were a good snack but the taziki it came with made them even better. Some friends and I came here before a show. It has mostly outdoor seating, but some inside. It was a nice afternoon so most people were outside. They have an interesting menu, with some items that I would need an explanation as to what they are. We started with the Greek Sampler which had garden vegetables and some thin slices of bread with three types of dips. It was $35, but satisfied all 4 of us. I ordered the grilled snapper sandwich which came in a thick wrap and I had a choice of either fries or a side salad. I chose the fries. The sampler dips were delicious and the vegetables fresh and crisp. My sandwich was tasty also, but I did have to add some of the sampler dips to make it more delicious. Other than getting the server to notice us, the service was excellent. The gentleman was very accommodating, answered our questions, and was very efficient. This is such a cute place during lunch but a very relaxing vibe at night time with the gas lanterns and open roof. The food is familiar when you think of Greek food and tastes great. The octopus is tender but depend on what you prefer, it could be too tender. Its gently grilled and served with a slice of lemon. Mussels is great and their broth was perfect with the bread. The sea bass is tasted fresh but please be mindful of the little bones from eating a whole fish. Beef souvlaki was tender and a perfect meal for those that are looking for a meat and potatoes (served with fries). Get lucky and you may be able to walk in but check on Resy first for a reservation if possible. TIP: Miami traffic is as you expect - terrible - so if you have a reservation then leave earlier than expected because you will also need to find parking as street parking is not ample. read more

Mandolin has fantastic food and our server made the evening enjoyable, but our first interaction with the host, Sofia, was the opposite experience. Before arriving, I saw that plenty of tables were open online, so I didn't think a reservation was necessary. When my wife got there first, she was immediately told that walk-ins weren't being accepted. Even after pointing out the availability online and offering to reserve right away, Sofia flatly refused, saying she still wouldn't seat her "because it might rain." By the time I arrived, I tried to clear things up and asked if there was anything she could do for us, but the answer was the same curt "no." Out of frustration, I simply went on Google, booked a reservation in minutes, and returned, at which point she gave us a table with no issue. What should have been a great memory of both the restaurant and our trip to Miami ended up overshadowed by how we were treated at the door. It was unnecessary, dismissive, and frankly rude. The management should know how damaging this kind of attitude is and put her through proper training. First impressions matter, and in our case, it set the wrong tone for an otherwise excellent meal. read more

A true gem in the Design District. As soon as you walk up to the restaurant you can immediately tell how much time, effort, thought, and creativity went into the design and atmosphere. If you've ever been to Greece or Turkey, as I have as a native Anatolian, you will feel right at home. The service is exceptional, the food and drink menu is vast and concise without feeling overwhelming, and the quality of the food and ingredients evident upon delivery and first bite. We loved everything from the Turkish Sampler, Saganaki, Kofte, Calamari, Baklava, Greek beer, and Italian Prosecco. We were impressed with the extensive wine selection that also featured Greek and Turkish options, not just Italian. Only thing I would love to see in the menu and maybe we missed it is Beylerbeyi Raki, Ouzo Plomari, and Turkish craft beers, such as 3kafadar. Most importantly, the prices are incredibly reasonable, considering the type of food it is and the location. Hands down one of the best restaurants we dined at during our recent visit to Miami. Upon entering you are immediately transported to the Greek Islands. Dining outside is wonderful, they have plenty of fans with water spritz to keep you cool. Every dish we tried was wonderful, probably the best Greek food we've had outside of Greece. Service was great, we didn't have a reservation but they were able to get us right in as the restaurant had just opened, I highly suggest making a reservation as it did get busy, we were just lucky to get here as they were opening. You have multiple servers so its not personable at all. No one asked how are food or drinks were during my experience. Dirty dishes sat on the table for 10+ minutes before being removed. This could be easily resolved with having 1 specific server to each table. Nothing special for Valentines day like roses at the table or a special menu. That was disappointing. Cocktails were good and refreshing. Octopus was not prepared like the previous time I was here. It was overdone and fishy. Ali Nazik was the best thing we ordered had a very unique tasty flavor. Spicy Mandolin Kebab Sandwich was ok nothing special. Got my leftovers boxed up and I get home and the sauces weren't included. Pure laziness. Will not be back. The majority of seating is outside although they have a couple tables inside. Ordered a few small plates to share: Turkish sampler, pita (have to order separately), ali nazik, and spanakopita Our favorite was the the ali nazik! Lamb was tender and full of flavor. Perfect to eat on its own or pair with pita or the house bread. The samplers were so fresh and light we ate all of it. First time trying spanakopita, cheesy flaky delight.
