Generous Portions & Decadent Cinnamon Rolls! Recently tried Matchbox for breakfast. "Traditional Breakfast" (scrambled eggs, potatoes & bacon). Fresh Coffee Service (coffee w/cream & sugar). Decadent warm cream cheese frosted cinnamon rolls served in a cast iron skillet. Generous portions. Attentive customer service. See photos.

Have been here quite a few times over the past few years and ordered a variety of items off the menu. Service has been consistently great and the food had been consistently top-notch as well. Weekend brunch menu is awesome as is the dessert menu. Matchbox is usually pretty lively, as it has always been busy - so be prepared for some din. Recommended for good eats & drink!

Service was great. We went for brunch. We ordered unlimited brunch option which had a large variety of options.

Celebrated Mother's Day 2026 at Matchbox. I made a reservation so we were seated immediately and gifted flowers. We ordered shortly after. We took part in the unlimited brunch. Everything was hot and DELICIOUS! We were surprisingly given full portions. I was stuffed! The service was slow but we gave them grace due to it being a holiday. I can't wait to go back!

Sunday 1/18/26 I found out about the $50 all-you-can-eat brunch option via social media, and having never visited before, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try as many items as I wanted for a fixed cost. The unlimited brunch offers you anything you'd want on the brunch menu, and you also get the opportunity to try out the popcorn, taco bar, and waffle bar. I decided to stick with solely the menu, so I didn't experience the other features. Service was solid. I definitely got the bang for my buck as I was able to try a total of 17 items, with 14 of them being different. With all the food I got, I think it's best to put it into various categories & tiers, but first I want to mention that there's a wide variety of food options, with the best options being decent and the worst being below average. (WOULD I GET IT AGAIN?) YES: - Seafood scramble!! - Steak n eggs!! - Peaches & cream waffles!! - Bbq wings - Hot artichoke & spinach dip MAYBE: - Chicken & waffles - Chicken fettuccine Alfredo - Buffalo wings - Bbq jerk pizza - Cinnamon crunch French toast - Cinnamon roll NAH: - Blueberry lemon pancakes** - Shrimp & grits - Pepperoni pizza - Mini sliders (Quick note: the pancakes aren't terrible, just inferior to the waffles & French toast) -- #issa.cheatday

I can't quite remember a dining experience so awful. Had reservations for a party of two on an otherwise unremarkable Saturday. We were seated, and then... nothing happened for almost 10 minutes. No server, no cutlery. The server finally arrived; we ordered drinks--limoncello spritz (which was great), water, and some biscuits. The limoncello spritz was good, but getting the waiter to provide water seemed like a tall order. We asked twice for the biscuits and were told they were out but making some more. We ordered mac and cheese, French fries, wings, and the pear salad. My friend liked the pear salad, and I was enjoying the mac and cheese until I found a hair in it. Perhaps the hair in the mac and cheese dashed any hope of redemption, and I told Antonio, 'Wow! Batting zero today.' He said, and I quote, 'sucks for them because I know I am a good server." Umm. Sir, I love positive thinking and affirmations, but you are so far from that today. The manager was nice, apologized, and said the hair was caused by someone shucking corn. I don't see myself returning... ever.

Matchbox has a great selection of pizza and other entrees. Each time I've come, I've always been content with the pizza. A friend and I came in for brunch/lunch today and we both ordered the shrimp & grits. While the food came out pretty quickly, I was surprised at how small the portion seemed to be. I would suggest ordering something on the side in addition to the dish if you want to leave full. While the flavor profile of the dish was rich, I needed to add a bit of salt to truly bring out those flavors some more. I also would have liked the shrimp to be a bit blackened. Nonetheless, the dish was still enjoyable. Service was great - quick, attentive and kind. I like the renovations they've done/are working on!

Had lunch here with my family and some friends. The interior was nice with the 2nd floor seating area. The wait staff was very friendly. Matchbox is great for families as they have a nice variety for adults and kids. We ordered: - Shrimp and Roasted Corn salad - Herb crusted salmon salad - Pepperoni Pizza (kids menu) - Mini Cheese burgers (kids menu) The adults' food came quickly but we had to bug the waitress for the kids' food (they were hungry and getting grumpy). Everything was good and I really enjoyed my Shrimp and Roasted Corn salad. Would definitely come back for a meal out with the family.

First time at Matchbox, and overall it was a pretty solid experience. The bartender was really nice, and the drinks were on point--I had a mule to start and then a vodka soda, both well made. We tried the appetizer + sandwich pairing, which was a good deal. I was really excited for the Maryland crab soup, but unfortunately, it was a big letdown. I only had one bite--it just wasn't good at all. No one asked how everything was, so I didn't mention it, but if I had been asked, I definitely would've said something. Honestly, for a place serving "Maryland" crab soup in Maryland, it was kind of embarrassing. Thankfully, the crispy cod sandwich made up for it--it was amazing. Perfectly cooked, crispy, and the tartar sauce was fantastic. That's the dish I'll be coming back for. So, mixed bag: I'd happily go again for the drinks and the sandwich, but I'd skip the crab soup every time.

Appreciate the consistency in quality of foods. Service quality in general has been pretty good. Like the decor and atmosphere. Prices definitely went up since last time we were here. Cannot blame the restaurant, the blame falls on the leaders of the government. Cauliflower flower and tuna tartar appetizers are one of our favorites. Wings were tasty when fresh came out. The double bacon burger patties came out looking funny. They were small and not the same size. Pizza was tasty. Like the thin crust. Creamy pasta was good, so was the chicken avocado sandwich 。 Great portion size. Delicious foods. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend by @WineDinenVacay

Hey friends! I met my godmom and cousin here for girls night. I've always heard good things about Matchbox, I finally got to try it recently. Matchbox serves New American food and is known for their pizzas. I ordered the black bean burger and fries($18). I hated everything about the burger. I specifically asked for it be cooked well done so it wouldn't fall apart. I cut into to and it immediately fell apart. I suggest they use oats to bind the burger together to avoid it falling apart. The burger also had ingredients on it that weren't listed on the menu. That's an allergy hazard and management should fix it immediately. The burger came with Fritos on top and cucumbers... unpleasant. The fries were delicious. I also ordered a Dragonfruit margarita. It was very delicious. A nice balance of sweet and tart from the alcohol. Service was okay. Our server was robotic. The interior is aesthetically pleasing. I definitely wasn't expecting such an impressive interior. Restrooms were clean. Parking is free and ample. I'll be back to try their infamous pizza. I hope you enjoy! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

Matchbox pizza hits different. I love the crispiness and spiciness of the tomato sauce and pepperonis. The restaurant was nice and quiet for a Monday evening. I was able to get some work done while enjoying some delicious grub. Customer service was superior and I absolutely have no complaints at all. #EatGoodAndBeHappy

Unfortunately, what should have been a special celebration turned into a very disappointing experience due to the service we received upon arrival. We had a reservation for 4:00 p.m. When we arrived, the gentleman at the host stand was not welcoming or friendly. He simply told us to "step to the side" and that someone would assist us in a few minutes. As the minutes passed, we continued to wait without any communication. During that time, a white family of five walked in without a reservation and was seated immediately. At that point, I approached the host stand to ask what had happened and why we had not been seated despite having a reservation. The host searched for our reservation, asked what time it was scheduled for, and then casually stated, "I think someone stole your table." I was shocked by this response. I asked how that could happen if he was responsible for managing the seating. He had no explanation and, more importantly, never offered an apology for the mistake or the inconvenience. A manager later came over and asked what had happened. After I explained the situation, he appeared genuinely surprised and concerned by what had occurred. Once we were finally seated, our server acknowledged the delay and kindly offered us an appetizer because of the long wait at the front. We appreciated that gesture, but it did not change how unwelcome we had been made to feel upon arrival. I am writing this letter not because I am looking for compensation or anything in return. My purpose is simply to ensure that no other family has a similar experience, especially on a day meant to celebrate loved ones. Every guest deserves to be treated with fairness, courtesy, and respect. A sincere apology from the host at the time of the incident would have gone a long way. I hope you will use this feedback as an opportunity to coach your front-of-house staff on the importance of customer service, communication, and accountability. Thank you for taking the time to read my concerns. Sincerely, Ms. Deas

I'm giving three stars because of the fact that the staff were probably exhausted from a brunch party that was ending; but what happened to the good ol days where bar staff were attentive and offered assurance rather than essentially ignoring our existence until we reminded them that we're not just keeping the seat warm while watching ice melt in our expensive drinks. The kicker... The burrito wasn't even hot when it arrived! The more I think about it, the more upsetting it is because I hate giving bad reviews. After second thought, I'm giving it two stars for the lack of accountability, service, and quality of food. We've gotten better service from plenty of places that were way more crowded and busy.

As an appetizer, we ordered the grilled artichokes with lemon hummus, a nice idea and satisfactory in its execution. For our main course we shared the seared tuna salad (which they helpfully served on two plates), and added a grilled lobster tail for each of us. The lobster was the belle of the ball - fantastically prepared and beautifully complemented by the crisp white wine I had ordered. That made up for the disappointment of the tuna, which was tasteless, and the salad, which was miserably over-dressed. If ordering salad, I strongly suggest asking for the dressing on the side. We ended with the flight of desserts. These were okay, but not so great that we needed six of them! One per person is more than enough, or just skip dessert here altogether. As for the service - our waitron did not seem to enjoy working here and was a bit surly. We had to hunt her down when we wanted a second drink. Overall, this is not a bad choice if you are in the area and looking for a sedate vibe with hit-or-miss food and a good wine list.

The darkish steakhouse vibe of this restaurant hides some of the wear and tear of the space. I got the wood grilled tenderloin salad and the steak was cooked perfectly. The meat was very tender. The salad came with blue cheese and was a good compliment to the steak. My husband and I got the scallops as a side and they were delicious. I got a paper plane cocktail and it was good enough although not traditional. As far as chains go, Seasons 52 is always a hit. Our food came out quickly and our server stopped by a few times to check in.

The Detroiter and Bee Sting were both delicious, but I preferred the Detroiter more (I love meat!). You can tell the ingredients were fresh. Definitely give them a try if you're looking for this style of pizza. Carry out only!

My husband is…read moreparticularly keen on Detroit style, and we have had quite a few Detroit style pizzas from places over the years both in and outside of Detroit. This one was pretty good, but I do have a quibble; the crust was much denser than Detroit style crust usually is. The height of the pizza was about 2/3 of the usual height of a light and airy but thick Detroit style crust, so I am not sure if this dough just didn't rise properly or if PM does their crust differently. I don't personally care for heavy thick crust so this isn't a deviation I particularly care for. That said, I did like the robust sauce and the cheese, toppings were sufficient though not exceptionally generously applied. I recommend getting hot honey on the side if you want that, it was less noticeable pre-applied, though I could taste it a little. The pop up is colocated with Corned Beef King and there is a picnic table for when the weather is good but it is primarily takeout. Food was ready ontime so I was in and out super quickly. If you don't mind a heavier crust you should give them a try. I'll probably be back when hubs wants a Detroit style and we don't have time to drive to Frederick where the best one I've found in MD can be had, but tbh just one slice sat like a brick in my tummy.
