Max Soha is a nice cozy little spot where you can grab some solid Italian food. What pulled me in was their very fair priced lunch special, and honestly I was hungry enough to read that sign like it was a personal invitation. I popped my head in and ordered spaghetti and meatballs because sometimes you just need pasta made by someone who actually knows what they are doing. Unless you are a trained chef at home, restaurant pasta just hits different. The food was good, so good I basically swallowed it whole. And that is where my only issue comes in. The portion size was cute. Adorable even. Perfect if you are half my size or just trying to snack on spaghetti like it is a light appetizer. But for me, I had to order two lunch specials to feel like I actually had a meal. Pasta is one of the cheapest comfort foods on earth. A little extra would have gone a long way and probably would have me bragging about this place to everyone I know. Outside of that, the place is great. Cozy interior, friendly staff, solid vibe. If they made the portions match the flavor, this would easily be one of those comfort food spots you keep on your regular rotation. Overall I enjoyed it and I would return, but I am coming in already knowing I may need to double up. Cheers.

Cozy cafe and friendly neighborhood spot! Came here for brunch on the terrace on a rainy day. Good portions and presentation for brunch. Staff were prompt and attentive. Will need to return to try the dinner menu!

I came here recently on a week night for dinner and had a fairly good dining experience. I made a reservation in advance to avoid any wait and were seated at a table away from the door, which is a plus. We ordered meatballs as an appetizer, "handmade" pasta with lamb and for dessert we had the brownie with gelato and the pistachio and ricotta cake. All were fine for what they were. I would say the pasta while advertised as handmade tasted more like store bought freshly made. Additionally, while the brownie was good it was a bit dense. The ricotta and pistachio cake was very good. The service was amicable and attentive. The decor was pretty cute and ideal for a date spot. As a night out for dinner, Max Soha is definitely a spot that leans more on the quality of the service and the overall charming and romantic ambiance of the place instead of it's food. That's not to say the food was bad. The food was good, just not spectacular.

Found this Italian lunch spot on my walk down Manhattan. Great appetizers, really loved the bruschetta.

My ultimate go to place near my apartment whenever my friends are visiting or whenever I'm meeting with friends/family in the area. It's cute, quaint, delicious, and reliable! I've been here so many times but just getting around to writing a review as an ode to the place as a few of my friends in the neighborhood have moved away. We had a last farewell gathering here for a group of 4 for dinner with no reservation and were seated immediately. Got a bottle of Chardonnay to share and it was perfect for the final hot days of summer. Our waiter was fun and friendly and very attentive to us throughout the evening. We got the Calamari and Bruschetta to share and it was a good size appetizer for the table. I got the Penne alla Bologenese, but I usually get the Spinach Pappardelle con Fughi - highly recommend this if you love spinach & mushroom. We also ended up getting their dessert specials - the Tiramisu and Key Lime Pie - they were both pretty good and a great way to end the night.

Cute down-to-earth Italian place that is perfect for a date or just a nice treat without hurting your wallet! It seems like in the past they were cash-only but they do take card now. There is indoor seating with dimly-lit romantic vibes as well as a very nice outdoor patio for enjoying fresh air. The menu offers classic appetizers, pastas, and meat entrees at super reasonable prices, with none of the pasta dishes breaking $20 as of this review. They give free bread with olive oil, though the bread was somewhat dry which made it hard to soak up the oil or sauces. But the pasta I ordered, the fettuccini ragu, was absolutely delicious! The fresh pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce wasn't the typical tomato-based sauce I've seen with other ragus, but more meat-forward and almost stew-like. The lamb was so tender and flavorful, though it's probably not for those who don't like the taste of lamb. Portion size was satisfactory for one meal, not too meager or gigantic, but big eaters may want to consider an appetizer or dessert. Overall, beautiful ambience combined with affordable yet high-quality pasta - I'd love to try more!

I loveeee love Max Soha. First, the ambiance is so cute- they have indoor seating and outdoor seating in a covered patio with curtains. They have fresh, hand made pasta that is soo delicious. I love how they use ingredients that are in season to maximize the freshness of the food. They have breakfast (coffee, tea, pastries, bites), lunch specials and dinner options. The service was great and the food is consistently amazing. Highly recommend!

Max Soha reopened! Staff is very friendly and welcoming. It's a good place to grab lunch/dinner and catch up with friends. Generous portion sizes as well.

I love this place! Both the ambiance and the food are are great. But today we had a special treat. Their latte artist is a genius and we asked if he could do a lab. As you can see he delivered. This place is magical.

I ordered the Lamb Ragù pasta, and every bite was packed with rich, slow-cooked flavor. To start, my brother and I shared a pizza and the lobster appetizer, and both were incredible. My brother ordered the truffle pasta, and after stealing a few bites, I can honestly say it was just as unforgettable. The atmosphere was on another level. Even on a Tuesday night, the restaurant was buzzing with energy, full of happy people, great conversations, and an authentic Italian vibe that made you want to stay for hours. The service from Jose was outstanding. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had an amazing experience. If you're looking for incredible Italian food, outstanding service, and one of the best dinner spots in the East Village, OLIO E PIÙ belongs at the top of your list. When we entered the restaurant and took the elevator up to the restaurant, we were delighted to find free wine provided for us to pour in the elevator. Admittedly, it was red wine, so not my favorite, and it did taste cheap, but still appreciated. To start off, we ordered the onion torta, focaccia, and smashed potatoes. The onion torta was surprisingly good and tasted like a form of french onion soup. As a focaccia enthusiast, the focaccia was fluffy and delicious. We also got the charred beans, carrots, ravioli, tagliatelle, ravioli, and trout to share. The charred beans were surprisingly the long beans and not the smaller ones we expected. However, they were very juicy and better than we thought they would be. The rigatoni resembled cacio e pepe with its pepperiness, the tagliatelle tasted like standard red sauce, but i did enjoy the ravioli and the ricotta inside. For dessert, we had the basque cheesecake which was alright, but I'm not the biggest fan of cheesecake. Overall, we had a great time at Ci Siamo and I would definitely recommend ordering the focaccia and onion torta and we could have skipped the carrots, beans, trout, and tagliatelle.

I tried to explain why labeling those items as gluten free is misleading, but he seemed completely disinterested, even annoyed, dismissed what I was saying, and simply responded that the pasta is gluten free. I acknowledged that the server doesn't write the menu, but absolutely zero customer service skills. The service overall was lacking. Aside from taking our order, no one checked on us or came back to see if we needed anything. Our server was just hanging out chatting up the hostess. We had to request the bill from the manager & paid at the hostess stand. Before paying, I spoke with the manager and explained what had occured. He was more professional than the server, but he was still dismissive of my concerns and of the service we received. Management seemed happy enough to promote the "option".
