Their shaved ice is also really good, but better to eat it on-site as opposed to ordering it to go because they use different ice. The shaved ice when you eat it there is fluffy and soft, similar to the shaved ice you get in Hawaii. if you order it to go, they use ice that's hella frozen and hard/chunky so it doesn't melt in transit. Just not the same. Service: Moderately paced service but stingy with their utensils. We were in the first in line and it took about 20 minutes for 7 desserts. It was Monday morning and I was order 2097. The shop was bustling with noise as all the customers were clawing to get the $1 Milk Tea Grass Jelly drink deal. As I waited to the side looking at the terrific Japandi interior, I kept hearing a woman say she was waiting for order "96" and "97". Giving her the benefit of doubt, I thought she was just mistaken being an older auntie or perhaps she had 2197 instead. As I heard the numbers being called, "Order 97 is ready, 97!" I was less than 5 ft away, before my drink was snatched from my short, stubby arms, reaching towards counter. Damn my short stature. Confused as she quickly handed her drink off to an elder woman, I side-eyed her and told the bobarista, "um, I think you gave my drink away?" In less than 3 minutes, the bobarista asked me exactly what my order was after reviewing my receipt. Confused and hating confrontation, he made sure I was at ease and remedied my order right away. With drink in hand, and a smile on my face, satisfied with the service, I went along my merry way. I want to thank the bobarista who went above and beyond to fix the mistake. It's been a while since I've gone to a Meet Fresh, and it was my first time at the Monterey Park location! I must say, I had a great experience from service to ambiance! When I went to oder, a young lady Jasmine was very patient with me, it's been a while so I asked for recommendations. Because I have the biggest sweet tooth, she recommended me the Black Sugar Boba Shaved Ice, and boy was that DELICIOUS! I will say definitely a good portion even though I got the mid-size, and even though I was full from dinner I ate all of it. It was sooo good! This location just opened and everything is just a mess. First, I went past 9pm and they ran out of grass jelly due to the bogo deal but you can still order it from the kiosk machine. The thing is though, they tell you AFTER you placed an order and waited. It's not their fault that the machine still showed it was available but I waited like around 10 minutes for an order that was sold out so that was annoying. Mind you, this also happened to several other people as well. I ended up ordering another item, icy taro ball signature, and waited another 25 minutes. I noticed people who ordered wayyy after me already got the order but I just assumed they were just busy with the order. Only when I asked the counter about the order, they told me they have forgotten my order and no one was working on it. They apologized but honestly, I was already too annoyed to wait EVEN LONGER for them to start my order and it was 10 minutes til closing. I have waited so long for it to finally open ever since I saw the sign in the front. The times that I went, I got lucky and I found a parking spot behind Meet Fresh. Watch out! There is only 30 minutes for your parking. If you need to stay longer, the hotel shares the same parking structure. The environment is clean and bright. There is also a big plaza next to Meet Fresh. There is movie theatre, Daiso and Street Churros. At the Street Churros, you can get ice cream. It's about $9. The kiosk is also where you could order the food at Meet Fresh. It's nice to have another selection of a dessert restaurant. Service: Please be patient because Meet Fresh is not a fast food place. They give you to-go boxes if you choose to-go. There are napkins and there are more you can get. When you dine in, you have to pick up your plates. There is no table service. The staff is really nice, kind and pleasant. Food: I wish that the strawberry and mango comes back in season. It is so good, that is my favourite on the menu. The egg waffles are fresh, it's crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I got chocolate and vanilla flavour. I think that is the second best I've had. Icy jelly is my go to pick because it's like the mango strawberry to me because there are a lot of different flavors. I came in to order some drinks with my family, and we decided to try to do an online order because the option was available and people were just hovering over the machines and we didn't want to wait, so we sat down and tried to place our order but the first time it got rejected and we were like ????? Bottom line: Come back when they have worked out the kinks of their system and service flow. It's a mess right now and made for a poor experience. Was excited to have a MF opening up nearby, even more excited seeing they had a BOGO deal as part of their opening. Ordering is through their typical kiosk so expect the lines to go SLOWLY because the user interface is not intuitive at all for those who don't frequent MF. Lines were out the door because the space between entrance and kiosk is small. As we waited in line an employee who just finished his shift and was leaving said out loud well within earshot of customers, "Get me the F*** out of here". It was jarring hearing an employee who hadn't even left the premises complain so loudly about his own work place.... This place has been open only for a couple days right? Felt foreboding but also just really distastefully unprofessional to say that loudly while still in the store, especially right next to the line of customers. Usually MF will text that your order is ready (that's why they ask for you number at the kiosk). System must not have worked so it didn't seem like most patrons got their text. Knowing that it's a bit hectic I decided to go ahead and wait near where they put out orders. My order number was 63 so I was expecting it to be called next when they said "61"...."62".... But then the lady calls "36". I was somewhat confused so I asked her "did you say 63 or 36?" She looks at me and without hesitation or checking the number says "36". There was an order ready to be picked up which was also a BOGO like mine, but I didn't want to step out of bounds and take it assuming she was wrong. So I waited.... and waited.... then finally she calls "63" but immediately walks away to make another order so I couldn't show her my receipt to get my order. Not sure why it didn't click for her that I had just asked her about my order 63. But because she immediately walked away to make an order I thought she was making my order and called the number first to give the patron time to make their way up there. But then she hands that new order to another customer so then I was pretty sure she had made a mistake with the "36" earlier and I ask her finally "you called 63 earlier?" And she hands me the one that had been SITTING THERE FOR A WHILE that she said was order "36" which I correctly assumed was mine. It was confusing and very frustrating especially because there wasn't ANY acknowledgement of the misunderstanding that she caused. But then again, they were understaffed so I'll just shrug it off. Because people weren't getting their order ready texts,seems like many people just sat there and didn't hear their number called. Because of this snafu my order was halfway melted by the time I got to enjoy it. Whatever, not worth the trouble to bring this up in the sea of chaos. As usual, the signature grass jelly was great but half melted this time and I didn't get to enjoy the shaved ice as much. It was a cold day so we were looking forward to getting some hot dessert. The hot glass jelly combo and hot tofu pudding came out cold. The tofu dessert was obviously not heated well before it was served. There was a very scant amount of toppings compared to other meet fresh locations. They skimped on my side order of black sesame balls. I-2 sesame balls per order is a little ridiculous. Overall it wasn't a cheap treat. The system also lags quite a bit so I ended up ordering 3 drinks instead of 2 because there was so much lag between the touchscreen and the system itself.
