Why did make a reservation for a Saturday night at this place! Called on Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening gathering of 10 -12 people. We arrived, and were greeted with "a large party arrived at 3 p.m. and they have not left yet". Not a problem. We waited about 20 minutes, and were finally seated. Chips, and salsa. great. It took so long for them to take our food order. they were busy, so totally understandable. Once we did order, it took over an hour to get our food. I also noticed a family of four who were seated well after us receive our order before us. We observed the large party sporadically receiving their orders and immediately putting them into To Go containers. They were extremely unhappy with the service, but that's what you get when you have a 30 -40 person party at an already busy place. I felt a little bad with what the staff had to put up with from these folks who either had too much to drink, or are just genuinely have no patience. At the end of the night. Our food came too our table hot, Not the the best Chimichaunga I've had, but we also got to spend more time with family for having to wait so long. read more

This review is based on just the overall look and atmosphere / service as we left before we even had a chance to try their food. I am a huge fan of Mexican food so when we stumbled across this restaurant, we decided to come by for lunch. As we entered, the restaurant was very old/dirty inside. There wasn't a hostess around and we waited over 10 minutes to be seated. In the middle of those 10 minutes, I decided to go to the restroom. The restroom was messy, smelled, had NO Soap (ummm gross). I walk out and when we get seated, their tables are very low to the ground. When you sat down, you felt like you had to bend down super low to even reach your food. You might as well could have eaten off your lap. Then, they brought chips and salsa, and the salsa bowl looked like the salsa had been sitting out all day and didn't look appealing. Since my boyfriend was so uncomfortable, we asked if we could sit at a booth or something. The lady was very rude and said all the tables/booths are the same. Since the experience so far was horrible, we weren't taking a chance to spend our money here. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area to choose from, than this location. read more

This is our go-to Mexican restaurant. The food is good, the margaritas are good and the wait and bar-staff are friendly and warm--with one exception but I don't think this particular female bartender works here any more. She was so bad we stopped sitting at the bar which was a good thing because we wouldn't have met Alejandro and he and the bar wait-staff are exceptional and a lot of fun! We prefer to eat in the bar because they always have all the games on and no kids. Ours are grown so prefer not to relive those days with others' children in restaurants haha! Mexico Lindo serves quality Mexican food in a relaxed environment. It is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the entire Tri-Valley!! The staff, although overly busy most of the time, is friendly and hard-working. So yes, it might be a wait to be seated and served. However, that is offset by the delicious food and fair pricing. First, the salsa served is really delicious. It has onions and cilantro and is medium spicy. Some of my favorite dishes are 1) chorizo and eggs. 2) shredded beef taco plate. 3) The Carne Asada burrito. They are all authentic tasting and fresh!! One method I use to grade restaurants is on the cleanliness of the restrooms. If the restrooms are dirty you can be certain nobody is cleaning the kitchen. Fortunately, this restaurant's restrooms are very clean. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for anyone who would like to watch a football game in the bar area with friends while sipping margaritas. It is also a nice family environment to take a significant other, family, and kids. read more

All I can say is Ick! The chips were stale, the salsa was bland and our meal was unforgetably bad. The service was very slow and getting the attention of anyone on the staff was difficult at best. I don't think they would have noticed if I started doing cartwheels around the room! I can't speak to the Margaritas, because when I was here last I was pregnant with my latest arrival, so I had to forego them. I won't be going back to check out the margarita's either. Nothing like really disappointing a pregnant woman who is starving and craving Mexican food! Taco Bell would have done the trick better and been a whole lot cheaper! I am very disappointed in the customer service I received tonight. My family drove an hour out to Pleasanton to go to the county fair. Decided to stop and have dinner. Dinner was fine and service was fine. I was tired and left my credit card. When I got home I realized I had left it at Mexico Lindo. I called to have them mail the card to me. I was told that it would be in the office for me to pick up and that they would not mail it to me. The last time I was in Pleasanton was about 5yrs ago. I have no business out there and no reason to drive an hour up and an hour home for a credit card when it could have been mailed to me. So much for customer satisfaction. Would it hurt you to spring for a stamp and envelope? I am not a satisfied customer to come back next time I'm in town. Not a chance now. read more

I was here on October 04, 2017. I wanted to go and grab a burrito from this joint for a very longgggggg time around 8 months are so. What a bad choice!!!! Sadly to say I think that one of the owners sat myself and my husband and the place was empty at 2;30 p.m. I was on my way to grab a sandwich from Jersey Mikes and against my better judgment ended up sitting down for a late lunch. let me start off with the older lady that say myself and my husband down never smiled not once. I placed my order for a deep fried burrito and she didn't know what came in it. so she had to go to the kitchen to find out. I ordered as well as my husband. keep in mind that she never smiled and didn't write the order on a tablet or scratch it on to a blank piece of paper. I was very, very clear NO SOUR CREAM ON ANYTHING AND NO GUACAMOLE!!! I REPEATED THIS SEVERAL TIMES WHILE ORDERING!! She brought chips to the table that were old and cold and the salsa looked and tasted as it had come right out of a can. skipping over a few other items that were overlooked my plate came out with SOUR CREAM AND OF COURSE GUACAMOLE!! I started to get up and just leave since I cant stand the smell of either side toppings. She paced the plates on the table and my husband just looked at me. before she could walk away I asked her for a small plate and letting her know that I was scrapping the sour cream and guacamole off of my plate. she looked at me and said ohhhhhhhhh I thought you just meant not on the top of the burrito. I said no, I clearly said no sour cream or guacamole!! I now notice that the sour cream and guacamole are touching my rice so I cant eat that as well. long story short she came over and handed me a baby plate which she should've brought me a new plate with sides but of course she didn't. Lets also say that my husbands plates was completely different than what he had ordered because she didn't know the menu and the beans are straight out of a can, rice was cold and hard! we left the food on the table and paid of course $40.00, left a tip and walked down to Jersey Mikes as we should've from the beginning. One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been too. I had the super burrito and boy, was it SUPER! Defiantly two meals in one. Lots of food. Reasonable prices. I went there for lunch. Super burrito was $10.75. Not a bad price for all that food! I could only eat half of it! Service was quick. Ordered, and maybe 10 minutes later food arrived. This place is around the corner from my office and I come often, usually with groups from the office. It's perfect for that. It's also great for business lunches. The service is good and the food is too. The portions are huge. I'm surprised that they don't pay attention to details like the men's room. Came in on a Sunday around 11AM and they were doing a lunch buffet. Not exactly what we were planning, but when you can get some food immediately, why not. Their buffet had coffee set-up but they were out of regular. Our waiter helped by getting the pot refilled and bringing me a cup. A reasonable selection of enchiladas, chile rellenos, carnitas, and chile verde (although the chile verde was a little spicy and had not simmered the meat long enough). They had some nice torta-type bread rolls, so I made a nice sandwich. Had to ask for tortillas but no problem. A little more than we really wanted and now we need to go back for a regular meal. read more

Love it here! Been here a few times now and the food is always great and consistant. I've ordered the Chile Verde and the Carnitas which are both excellent dishes! The atomosphere is nice and welcoming and I love the Mariachi Music! The restuarant is very clean and well kept. It's fairly big but not too loud and noisy. I usually sit at the bar and I haven't been able to sit outdoors yet but I'm hoping to soon. The staff is great! They're VERY helpful and make great reccommendations. The full bar is great with a wide selection of Tequilas. Great Mexican place! No complaints and I highly reccommend it! read more

This review is for the bar section of Mexico Lindo. Atmosphere I've only eaten in the dining area once and haven't eaten there since. It's very outdated and nothing about it makes you feel like you are about to have a great dining experience. It REALLY needs to be revamped. I only go to the bar section where there's actually life. Service Since I always go straight to the bar, I've never really had to deal with a host/hostess. However, I've came in a few times and no one was standing in the front to greet their customers. Tsk tsk! The service at the bar is great. The servers and bartenders are very attentive and food/drinks usually come out fast. Always been satisfied with the service here. Food It's not the best Mexican food that you will ever have, but it's good for Pleasanton standards. My boyfriend loves their burritos, especially the carnitas burrito. I usually go for the chicken enchilada. We usually start with a pitcher of margarita and their complimentary chips and salsa. Overall, I've experienced great service here. I have come here a bunch of times and enjoy the food every time. Like other Mexican restaurants, portions are large. They have great a la carte options if you don't want the rice and beans on the side. One dish that was surprisingly large and delicious was the Fiesta Salad with Shrimp. This salad doesn't come with any dressing, but it doesn't need it because the bell peppers and onions add plenty of flavor. I did squeeze a bit of lime for the shrimp, which actually are prawns! They don't skimp on this dish at all, and I was happy to find something not so heavy at a Mexican restaurant that still had a lot of yummy flavor. I usually only come here on the weekends for dinner if we're in that area, so I don't know how crowded it is during lunch/weekdays, but we've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table to be seated, and the waiters are usually pretty attentive when we need them. read more

We were seated quickly, plenty of people were having lunch and seemed to be very happy! Great atmosphere with lighting not dark nor dingy. The short version. Our first and last time! It must be a consistent theme for the hostes stand to be either occupied by a rude staff member or no one at all. Once arrived the staff at the hostess station was clueless and did not greet us with a glimmer of a smile. They left and did let us know they would be back. Once back, I asked him to smile and I got " I can't, we are to busy to smile. I should have turned around and walked out, but no we decided to give it a try. Once seated our server was quick and very nice. We ordered and it took them 35 min to bring our food which was WRONG. The manager never apologized and tried to fix it. Disgusting. I got a salad- it was huge and not in a good way. In the way that you know it's crap and they just give you a lot of it. It was mostly bell peppers and onions- hardly any lettuce. Compared to the Mexican restaurants in downtown Pleasanton, Mexico Lindo is a much better experience all the way around. The food is good, reasonably priced and I've never had to wait to be seated. Its great for families . . .especially if you have younger kids. UPDATE: I initially reviewed this restaurant a few years ago. However, I'm updating it from 4 stars to 3 stars. I think they've lost a bit. Food has not been quite as good recently and the wait staff seems a touch less helpful. Our kids are particular and so we are always ordering off menu. I've only been here once so I'm basing it off of that. Food was, 'meh'. I ordered the carnitas plate and growing up spoiled with 5 aunts, a grandma and a mom who all grew up in Mexico learning how to make plentiful and rather great Mexican food I'm used to having my carnitas juicy, crunchy and with pieces of "cuerito" or skin but they were dry. The refried beans were not good, at all. The tortillas were hard on the edges as if they popped them in the microwave for too long. The guacamole and salsa were actually pretty good but I could find better chips at a taqueria. Overall the staff were really nice as for the food I'd rather go to a taqueria. read more

Great family restaurant AND eye catching bar lounge to watch the games at. We love taking family and friends here to sit and enjoy different favored margaritas, beer and GREAT food.
