So I was hungry and in the mission after smoking blunts with a friend and wanted taqueria, I looked up this place and was like ok I'll give it a try. We ordered a super burrito and super nachos....the nachos had no flavor and the nacho cheese was just goop,like they are making it in the back in a trash can.... Then found a hair in the super burrito...I love taqueria probably more then anyone and have tried places up and down the west coast from Seattle to san Diego. My first time here and I'm a native in this neighborhood....I came in during lunchtime and I asked if they are still serving breakfast and the cashier lady said it ended at noon so I ordered 2 tacos pastor and asada plus fried tilapia... the meat is so small and thin and then these 2 non Latinos folks came in asked for breakfast and the cashier lady said about 4 or 5 menu items is ok to order from the breakfast menu.. Not good at all. The meat is horrendous. They chop it into small.pieces and grill it until it's charred to the point off being tiny rock like bits that you constantly need to spit out. Beans are watered down too much making the entire experience like eating rocks out of a puddle. Other than that, if they fixed these two issues, it would be good. read more

My new favorite Mexican spot! The staff is extremely friendly, and the food is amazing! Plus they're usually open late which is convenient. With your order you get chips, and they have a salsa bar with great salsa! There is a bathroom for customers, as well as free water. There's usually parking when I go, but I usually go late. To start I have to say that this is not a pretty little Mexican food restruant, its a little hole in the wall with really great food, so if you are expecting all the bells and whistle this is not the place. I love this place because they make the best Tacos ever!!!! I always get to many and eat to much, but for lunch it is definitely a fast and affordable place to eat. As for customer service, the cooks are usually quiet and talk amongst themselves, the guy who runs the front counter is very friendly and polite, and even jokes a little. When I first moved to the Excelsior District, I walked by this place without even considering the idea of going in because it looked . . . well, "typical." It's actually a cut above most taquerias. Curiosity got the better of me, so I finally broke down and gave this place a try (it's one of the closest taquerias to my home, so that outcome was inevitable). The first dish I sampled was the caldo de siete mares ("seven seas soup"): a spicy, savory red broth bursting with flavor and half the cast of "The Little Mermaid:" almost half a crab, some clams, some mussels, a small octopus, a generous chunk of some kind of fish, and a few shrimp. It was also loaded with big hunks of carrot, zucchini, jicama, and potato. At $16 or so with tax, it's not a cheap dish, but together with chips, tortillas, and salsa, it's a total meal for two hungry people or one truly ravenous individual. I'd recommend getting it to go; the "to go" portion size (two -not one, but two- huge plastic tubs) seems a bit bigger than the dine-in bowl. The super burrito con carnitas ($6) was awesome: an ultra-dense, tightly-wrapped, perfectly symmetrical cylinder of gastronomical bliss, it was full of deliciously porky chunks of Wilbur's corkscrew-tailed ilk. Corn chips come with most orders, and there is a self-serve salsa bar in the back with salsa roja, salsa verde, pico de gallo, radishes, and pickled carrots and jalapenos. Go to Mexico Tipico. Good tacos and that's about all. Slowest service of any taqueria I've been to. If you want to order and get it within 15 minutes then call ahead and when you get there expect to wait another 15 minutes while your food is getting cold. Came here for burritos but their rice plates and ceviche looked amazing... gotta try it next time. My burrito: Generous on the meat and well cooked tortilla wrap (not burnt and greasy). Seriously a good tortilla wrap makes a huge difference. Not so much avocado but many tacquerias skip out on that so... Anyway, try the super burrito with extra salsa. I really like this place and the prices. They are so authentic to their food. Beer drinkers, you gotta try their michalada, its will good and with camarones on the glass. It's spicy but great. So upset I ordered 2 burritos mojados and instead I get regular I requested for my order to be changed and the waiters refused. I swear I am sooooo tired of this F*****g place!! Look, I'm going to keep it real...the food isn't bad not bad at all..but the damn staff needs to get there shit together! Ever since that beautifully sweet girl left to have her baby, this place has turned into a shit show. We always like to give people the benefit of the doubt and may be a mistake once in a while is OK but still shouldn't happen. For the past month that my family and I come in here I swear to you we must come in there at least about 2 to 3 times a week we have busy schedules on can get to cook most of the time and I will be honest they have really great tasting food Which is the only reason why we had continued to be coming back. I am not exaggerating in a month we come in there let's say average twice a week so do the math every single one of those times we had to turn around and come back and have them fix their mistakes would pisses me off no matter whether we speak to them in English or Spanish and they are English-speaking people they still screw up our order at 1st I thought it's because we were calling by phone to order food so I could be ready and by the way it is very rude that they had their music blaring in the background as of their in some concert and they're yelling into the phone and we're trying to have them understand what we want they still read back our order and we pick it up and they're still always an issue. We are honestly starting to think that these people have something against us now we have been coming in to order our food and person and there is still always a problem! These people are unfucking belivable! I think we've supposedly spoken to the owner when time and he apologize profusely and offered to fix our food but what about some compensation for all the time and money lost? it's coming to a point where we don't even know who to go complain to anymore. the Staff and owner need to do a workshop in hospitality and food service or they should just close this place and give other businesses a fighting chance like I said their food is great but they suck at everything else! My husband eats here almost everyday. He loves their grilled chicken burrito and grilled tilapia dinner plate. I haven't tried their burrito but my husband brought home the grilled tilapia dinner plate for me and its delish. You can order it plain, garlic or spicy. All is good! I have only had their burritos from here but they a amazing. My usual favorite is La Coranetta up the street in Glen Park but these guys are good competition. Me and my girlfriend both had the pastor burritos and they were amazing, even cold the next day! For the price they are a great option compared to the other taquerias in this neighborhood. read more
