Best restaurant i've been in a while. This Marilyn Monroe themed restaurant has great ambience friendly service and amazing food!

This place was recommended by our friends who live in Cathedral City for breakfast. We are glad to have come here - probably one of the best road trip breakfasts we've had ever. There is a lot of food to choose from, including omelletes, sandwiches, salads, pancakes, and deli food like chicken salad or tuna salad. My husband got the Breakfast special #5, which has 2 eggs any style, hash browns, 2 sausages and toast. I got the California chicken sandwich which has grilled chicken on a bun (I substituted for sourdough bread), with bacon, avocado, onions, tomato and lettuce, and a side (I got cole slaw). The atmosphere is old school diner with the diner counter in the center of the room. Parking is super easy and plentiful. The space isn't too loud, but pretty full on a Sunday morning. The service is fantastic. Friendly and calm. The price is very reasonable. Would come back here!

Bread was overly toasted couldnt cut it!

Horrible service, servers are not attentive nor friendly, dont even come around. I was sitting down for 5minutes no server greeted us nor drinks were taken. A couple that got there after us got their drinks and food before we did. Food quality was terrible looks like potatoes looked like the frozen bag not fresh.

Very quick service. Clean and inviting. No coffee this morning. Breakfast was a 3.5. Good toast, eggs and bacon. Extra crispy hashbrowns looked tasty but were burnt. Corned beef hash underwhelming, fresh but really more like minced, soft corned beef. Will try again but get hash browns, not extra crispy and definitely not the hash. Quantity and prices excellent. Recommend. ~EG Eats

The number nine French toast, eggs, and bacon

This is my first time at Michael's and I enjoyed it very much. Seems like a local favor. Had to wait a few minutes for a table. The service was then fast and friendly. I like the Marilyn Monroe and other nostalgic decorations of the restaurant. I had two eggs, two pieces of French toast and two bacon. The bacon was cooked crispy like I like it and the French toast was tasty I would definitely recommend Michael's for a breakfast or lunch stop as they close at 2 o'clock.

From start to finish, the experience exceeded all expectations. Working with Events Manager Nicci and the GM was seamless and genuinely enjoyable. They were incredibly attentive, responsive, and open to collaborating on a custom event tailored to our needs. As an Event Planner myself, I truly appreciate when a venue takes the time to listen and accommodate -- and The Social Cafe absolutely delivered on that front. The setup was perfect for our mixer. The charcuterie spread was beautifully done, and the custom lemonade and iced tea station was a thoughtful touch that our guests loved. Everything felt curated, intentional, and aligned with the vibe we wanted to create. Beyond the event itself, the space is simply wonderful. It's warm, welcoming, and full of personality, with vibrant LGBTQ+ artwork and a layout that encourages connection. There's so much opportunity to grow our monthly event here, and we're excited about what's ahead. The Social Cafe also shines as a daily neighborhood gem. We were greeted in French as we walked in and we were immediately transported back to Europe. We took a little time to glance at their menu and decided to pick up a few items. We sat in one of the tables and it allowed us to take our sweet time as the cafe went through its hustle and bustle. As we sat there, we got to observe who we believe is the owner of the cafe. She was very friendly and had a conversation with every single customer, not just your typical hi and hello. She also had a great humor, joking around with customers asking for the code for the bathroom. It was very refreshing to see someone truly enjoy conversing with strangers and making life fun. I digress, but back to their food. Their pistachio croissant was very buttery and had a good bite to it. We also fell in love with their affogato. Not sure whether because of the gelato or their coffee, but it was probably one of the best affogatos we've had. We also decided to order a sandwich to go for lunch. We got the Italian tuna sandwich which we thoroughly enjoyed later in the day. We also took a stracciatella gelato home and really enjoyed the gelato they served. The owner told us the brand of the gelato because we really enjoyed it. Truly one of the best find!

Rosemary, however, was interesting. I was worried it'd be too "grassy" or pungent because rosemary is a stronger tasting herb, but to my surprise, super well balanced with its vanilla bean base. Thankfully tea shops have become more regular here in the otherwise asian treat deprived desert. Chakaa Tea Shoppe is located at "The River" which is a small outdoor shopping spot situated around a manmade 'river'. The location used to be a starbucks and is perfectly set up for a tea shop to take up residence. Now for the honest, the tea is about average, I do appreciate the ample ordering options of non dairy milks. This time I ended up getting a coffee with boba as my treat vs my normal tea order. The staff is always super friendly and helpful if you have any questions. The boba was also VERY good and well made vs some places that provided under cooked or over cooked boba. A coffee with boba and a small tip ran me up almost $10 which is a little expensive for my taste but it IS a treat after all and not an every day buy. Of all the times I've come into this location they always seem to be warm inside and prefer to not run the AC. I tend to sweat a little bit which is a bit of a drag considering that they have tons of seating. I probably wouldn't drive to the river JUST for boba but if I'm in the area shopping in need of a pick me up to go this would be a good stop.

The funny thing? While the retail was still shuttered, the cafés and entertainment spots were already buzzing. That contrast -- empty storefronts on one side, the smell of fresh coffee on the other -- gave the whole place a quiet but inviting vibe. I walked into Xanti's and ordered two drinks: a strong macchiato (because sometimes you just need that punch) and a hot lavender matcha for balance. Total was $11.25, which felt more than fair. I tried paying with a $100 bill, but the barista politely explained they couldn't take it. No stress, no attitude -- just professional and smooth. Service really stood out here. The barista, a friendly guy with calm energy, not only took the order but noticed I'd settled into my phone at the table. A couple of minutes later, he personally brought both drinks over. That simple gesture made the experience feel way more personal than you'd expect from a mall coffee stop. As for the drinks? The macchiato was bold, clean, and exactly the kind of kick I needed. The lavender matcha surprised me -- creamy, floral, not too sweet, just enough to feel like a treat. Together, they struck a perfect balance: one to wake me up, one to slow me down. So yeah, it's technically "just" a coffee spot in a mall, but don't let that fool you. Between the timing, the vibe, and the barista's extra touch, it was one of those experiences that sticks.
