Great selections of pastries and on Friday's bagels. There is no place to sit down all orders are to go, but people find places enjoy their treats around the building. The line can get long, but it's worth the wait and it goes fairly fast. We tried the cinnamon rolls, lemon poppy bun, mango raspberry cheese danish and jalapeño, cheese and pork belly bagel. Bankers Hill was missing out on a good pastry place and then this place filled that void. Quality, next level, tasty pastries. Some tasty in a good way and some tasty in a NOT so good way. :: ORDER :: ADOBO BROWNIE - soysauce, chocolate batter, black pepper, meringue, vinegar Chicharron, powdered sugar. I appreciate the creativity and bringing our flavors to light. I saw that they trying to make the adobo flavor come out like "salted caramel" but it's not for me. Yo... I'm Filipino and this had an inquiring taste and maybe I'm bias because I only think of adobo with rice. Keep adobo as adobo. I was looking forward to this as many others have ordered before me. Is it because it's unique and people want to just try it or are they out their minds and like it. Let me spare you an average of $7. Presentation looks good, the first bite starts out like a brownie - cool, then quickly overpowered by soysauce - doesn't smell great, the only normal thing was the meringue, but that is also ruined because it's garnished with black pepper and soggy crumbles of Chicharron that is a mix of vinegar and sugar flavor. The flavors don't mesh well - chocolaty, salty, vinegary, peppery, and sweet. DO NOT RECOMMEND LAVENDER GOAT CHEESE BIBINGKA - mochi like cake batter, infused with lavendar, wrapped in pandan leaves. I love bibingka, one of my favorite marienda bites BUT this taste like soap. Lavendar soap. The lavendar took over the entire pastry and if you are into that they this be for you but if you aren't into floral flavors you might want to stay away. One bite and my pallet tasted like soap. DO NOT RECOMMEND. But let me tell you what made me say WOW... RICE PUDDING DANISH - this was amazing! The danish had extra crispy and crunchy outer edge later. After the first bite the middle and center area of the danish were a littler more dense yet flaky but had moisture. Then layered on top was the rice putting with vanilla and cinnamon elements and topped with chopped strawberries with a strawberry compote. SO GOOD! This right here was my favorite! HIGHLY RECOMMEND GUAVA DANISH - yet another delicious pastry. I like how they execute their danish - extra crispy and crunchy outer edge layer and the middle little density yet flaky and moist. It had a guava swirl at the top. The guava jam was not super sweet but it had that perfect sweetness that paired right with the danish. HIGHLY RECOMMEND SHAKSHUKA BROCHIE WITH POACHED EGG AND TOMATO SAAUCE - anything with an egg on it is always attracting to the eye and stomach. The brochie was soft, the tomato sauce flavor was very light but present, and the egg was the egg - yolk not too runny. It was average tasting as you'd expect it to taste and a good pick for a savory pallet. RECOMMEND I will mosdef be back the regular pastries. I saw this bakery in a social media reel and knew I had to visit. Parking was easy to find upon arrival, and although there was a constant line, it moved quickly--we waited only about 10 minutes. The lady at the register was incredibly friendly and informative, happily answering all our pastry-related questions. Prices were reasonable, and everything was absolutely delicious! My personal favorite was the orange cranberry scone--according to my mom, it's the best she's ever had. The only thing I'd love to see is a bit more seating, maybe outside. After seeing this bakery on Instagram my wife and I pulled up to get a few pastries. They did not disappoint, the stand outside for us was the Dubai chocolate patachoux cream puff and the cream corn calabrian aioli was phenomenal. There menu is rotating so I don't know what goes and what stays, they also collaborate with other pastry chefs so you never know what you will find. It's a small shop so while in line I would look at the pastries that you want so the line could move faster but patients is key. Customer service was great and the workers where very helpful with what was popular and what they liked. Prices are fair for the quality that you get will definitely be back for more. read more

Very small shop with absolutely gorgeous pastries that are delicious! I got the matcha, jalapeño popper pastry, and the carrot cake bread and it was delicious! Wanted to check out this new bakery. Came around 9:30am on a Saturday. There was a line but it moves pretty quick. The bakery is very small. They have unique flavors for baked goods. It was about $7-8 per pastry. It looks really pretty but I think it was lacking some flavor. Also tried the miso caramel matcha latte. The miso was very subtle and could have had more caramel. Based on the photos and reviews, I had high hopes for Michi Michi. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the expectations. I finally stopped in today and picked up three pastries--$18 for the lot, which felt steep, though I get that ingredient prices (like eggs) aren't cheap right now. First up: the blueberry scone. It was more muffin-like than a true scone--not always a dealbreaker--but the size was small, and the flavor was underwhelming. Honestly, I could've whipped up something better in my own kitchen. Next, I tried the black sesame babashka lemon bread. The glaze had a nice lemon flavor, but the bread itself was so dry I needed a knife just to pull it apart. The sesame seeds were decorative at best--no real flavor contribution--and the texture reminded me of day-old, borderline stale bread. A real shame, because the lemon flavor had potential. The third item was a pistachio tart topped with raspberries. It sounded promising, but again, the execution felt amateur. It reminded me more of something you'd get from a home baker experimenting with a "fancy" recipe rather than from a professional bakery. I wouldn't say Michi Michi is bad--but I definitely wouldn't say it's good, either. With so many outstanding bakeries in San Diego, this one just didn't make the cut for me. While checking their website to get the proper names of what we ordered, I learned Michi Michi is a collective featuring goods from local bakers. That may explain the inconsistency. We got the ham and cheese croissant (best thing we got), chocolate chip cookie (average), and the maple bacon morning bun (average). Iced vanilla latte was great, iced salted maple pecan latte had actually pecans on it which is weird and kinda ruined the drink. I love seeing new bakeries popping up all over San Diego. I decided on MichiMichi and went in around 9am on a Sunday. They still had all the selection available, but I'm sure they ran out soon after. We had two savory and two sweet. Shakshuka: I had a little taste and it was really good! Just like the original dish. Potato/kimchi: I liked this one. The potatoes and kimchi weren't overpowering and the cheese, it was fluffy, I dont know how they did it. It was light and airy. So good. Passionfruit cheesecake: amazing. Not too sweet. The passionfruit was scooped onto the top and the seeds added a nice crunch. Rice pudding: I tasted it and I wished I had room to eat one whole one myself. It was interesting in a good way. It was actual rice pudding on top. Wild. And again, not too sweet. Just right. Stopped by today because I LOVE an excellent pastry and am spoiled with ridiculous places like Relic and Izola in town. Unfortunately.... As cute as Michi is... the actual baked goods were just OK. Items we tried: Apple Miso bun: I normally die for an umami flavor palate that Apple and miso would give, however while the flavor was 10/10, the bun itself was chewy and dry, 3/10. Guava cream cheese: 3/10. Dry, chewy and hardly any guava to balance the cream cheese. Blueberry scone: another item I always go for, unfortunately all the edges were overcooked and I had to pinch them off because it was so hard & dry. There was ONE blueberry in the entire scone, and it was so dry I couldn't eat it without coughing, 2/10. Kimchi Monkey Bread: flavor palate 10/10 for taste and uniqueness but again sadly really dry, really chewy, Prosciutto goat cheese tile: 6/10. Great flavor, beautiful presentation. A bit too chewy/ dry but definitely the star of the show. Ambiance: adorable Staff: didn't say much or offer any suggestions Potential: SO much. This spot is so cute and asthetically pleasing and maybe we are just spoiled from other spots but between the price point ($6.50 an item!) not sure if we will be back for a bit. This was a pleasant surprise of a bakery. Very unassuming with a parsed down small interior. The varieties were amazing though! They were able to put a unique spiff on all their pastries which I love. Don't get me wrong a chocolate croissant is bomb but it can get monotonous. It was hard to decide but ultimately my partner and I landed on the matcha crazy bread, the sesame seed and lemon babka, a guava cream cheese danish, and a kimchi and cheese pastry. The crazy bread and babka were good, especially the one with lemon but the real stunners were the guava cream cheese danish and kimchi and cheese pastry. Such unique flavors, the guava was fresh fruit purée you could tell. They had a good selection of sweet and savory pastries, including vegan options. We got a cinnamon roll, guava danish, strawberry pistachio pastry and mole babka. The strawberry pistachio pastry was the best. The cinnamon roll was disappointing, the frosting wasn't too sweet, which I liked, but it had almost no cinnamon flavor. The danish was ok but a bit dry. The prices are on par with other bakeries $5-8 per pastry. I bought two madeleine cookies but there was no price listed and realized after they are SO OVERPRICED at $5 each (they are not oversized). read more

My favourite thing was the iced chai tea which had the perfect amount of sweetness for someone who doesn't like too sweet drinks. Fave pastry was the apricot danish. Least is the spam croissant. Was hoping for a typical Asian pineapple pastry - egg/queso pastry was ok. Light eggy taste and not so cheesy, which I liked. I went here a week or so ago. I got there before they opened and a line was already forming outside. My only disappointment was there was a piece of plastic that was baked on in the middle over the eggs. I thought it was some kind of film from the eggs but it was definitely plastic.
