I was so excited for try this place after seeing patrons walking around with boba drinks at the market. I finally found them today and asked what the best seller was. The cashier told me the brown sugar boba. I said I didn't want anything very sweet so he recommended the green tea rose drink. It sounded good so I ordered it and it knocked my socks off! I had him add boba and couldn't believe the flavor it packed! Not to mention, the floral touch of loose petals floating in my drink. Truly unlike any other boba place I have been to. The chicken was kinda oily so kind of disappointed that it was t more crispy but flavors were there. I traveled to the LA Magazine Food Event on the 14th of this month in Santa Clarita. It was packed with hungry people and tasty senses of adventure. One of the restaurants to make their name known there was Moon Rabbit, which is located in DTLA, a food heaven all its own. The bbq pork itself was pretty good, but I thought the picked veggies were a little more sour than they should have been, and overall the sandwich was missing the sour, sweet, umami balance that a good bahn mi should have. The biggest issue I had was the bread. There was zero crunch. No crusty, rip up your mouth and gums exterior to bring any kind of texture to the sandwich, just soft, albeit lovely tasting, bread. But it was a little messy to eat as all the sauce kept spilling out with every bite. I also had a thai tea thai tea (thai tea and green thai tea mixed together) with boba, which was also good. It wasn't too sweet, but the boba was a little on the hard side probably because we ordered as soon as Moon Rabbit opened for the day. This tea shop was a lot of fun for me! I thought the environment and setting were just good, humid, but comfortable, and I liked the variety of seating choices. I liked how there was a different space that could be used by parties. This tea shop seemed to me to be an Asian treahouse that caters to visitors who are trying to get some work done, which I thought was admirable! They were organized by the items section.
