I got scolded by the owner of a restaurant over butter. No kidding. We've been coming for 12 years and they served their waffles with melted butter. A few months ago they switched to those frozen cubes of butter. When our server asked how our food was I made a passing comment about the frozen butter. During the conversation I said it felt like the kitchen was cutting corners. Two minutes later the owner comes up to our table. The first thing she says is, "Let me clarify something. We don't cut corners." She spends the next few minutes telling me why melting butter on a steam table takes so long, and on and on. I was too amazed to be insulted. This place's waffle selection is insane. I came here for breakfast and ordered the chorizo scramble and caramel apple waffle and I can't put into words how amazing that meal was. The caramel, the baked apples, the ice cream ... Not my normal 11AM breakfast, but I wish it was LOL. The chorizo scramble was also so delicious especially when paired with their homemade spicy salsa that our waitress offered. The potatoes were also perfectly seasoned -- would definitely get again. This place does have more than Waffles. It has friendly staff, a cool open patio area, a classic looking diner interior and delicious fresh food and desserts. My first trip here with my lunch date had me wondering how good this place really was. From what I hear they have the best Waffles this side of the Valley. Well the rumors were right, the food here is delicious. I did not realize my eggs Benedict meal was actually served on waffles as well. This made them 10x better as I always hated eating them on those weak ass McMuffin buns. This place also had a nice open patio, if you don't mind the heat for the doggoes to sit outside and enjoy the meal with you. We brought a little floof, who had a great time watching pieces of food fall infront of her, while being adored by the staff. They even brought her out a water bowl without even asking! Living in southern Calif for over 47 years we never have been to this restaurant before this morning. We met our friends for brunch and happy to report us was a smashing success. SERVICE-FOOD-PORTIONS AND WAIT STAFF! Fantastic. I had soft fluffy pancakes with 2 poached eggs and great crispy bacon perfectly prepared as was what our friends and my wife ordered. We went there this past Sunday for brunch and were met with an hour and a half wait time. Our fault since all of us have never been, plus it was Sunday brunch so this wait time was expected. Our waitress was amazing and asked us to get our orders in before the large party that sat right after us. Thank you so much for this!! I didn't catch her name but she was working the outside patio at around 1130am, and she was so nice-- she even brought out water for my dog and made time to check up on us despite also working this huge party plus all the other tables around. Our food came out quick, delicious and exactly as ordered. It's pretty evident that the entire staff were hustling and were very attentive with the Sunday brunch crowd. It's a very busy place so service is understandably fast but there was a sense of a rushed, impersonal feel. For example, not being offered a kids menu/coloring sheet which we noticed other tables had after we had already placed our order, and our orders being hurriedly placed on the table rather than in front of the person it's for. It's a different story that we had to wait a bit longer because we wanted a table outside (brought our puppy along!). We had hot coffee and cold water on the table minutes after we were seated. Got the Chilaquiles & Banana Honey waffle. My son got the Orea pancakes with everything on the side. The chilaquiles were delicious with added Tapatio, salt and their house salsa. The potatoes were really yummy and the chips were a little crunchy. The waffle was amazing and very sweet! The food is soo delicious. I come here for the Waffles. Potatoes, sausage, jam and salsa is on point. I've only been here on weekends wait time is no less than 45min, so be prepared to wait. Last time my wait time was an hour and 45 minutes, mainly because people hangout at their table after they finish eating way too long and it doesn't help that front is a hot mess, there are usually 3 - 4 ladies hosting but one doesn't know what the other is doing. You can always ask them for the menu before you're seated so you can have your order ready, and then leave when you're done eating, cause they do close early. Don't you hate when you read all the good reviews and then show up and they're terrible? Well, that's not the case here. I placed my name on the waiting list with Yelp, the amount of time it took for us to get there was the amount of time we had to wait. So I showed up and got seated immediately. The staff, all GREAT! The bus boys (is that what they're called) were all attentive and fast. They passed by often with fresh coffee and water. The waitress was perfect. She recommended the popular items. Now the waffles themselves were light, crispy crunch on the edge with a fluffy soft inside texture, but not TOO sweet or TOO buttery...which was new for me, definitely like a "lighter" waffle than I've had before. In sum, we highly recommend this place!!: We loved More Than Waffles! I got the French toast breakfast combo with bacon, poached eggs, and the Heavenly French Toast. The Heavenly French Toast has chocolate sauce drizzled on, along with strawberries and whipped cream. They use the juiciest, reddest, sweetest strawberries, and chocolate sauce that is thick and delicious but not too sweet or sugary. They use the perfect ratios of all the toppings to make sure that every bite has just the right amount of each part, and no extra food on the side. My brother got the waffle breakfast combo with the tye's Oreo cookie waffle(half size) and poached eggs and bacon. He said, "The tye's Oreo cookie waffle was sweet, had just the right amount of ice cream, and the whipped cream added in the perfect amount of softness that allowed the Oreo cookie bits to add a delicious crunch. Even without the toppings it would be amazing because the waffle is extraordinary, wonderful waffle." The portion sizes fill you up but aren't too big. The bacon is crispy but not overly crisp. The poached eggs were deliciously warm, the perfect texture, and already salted. The service was excellent; they were constantly refilling our drinks and were fast at bringing the food.
