So good, I came back the next week! Most of the dishes are delicious and better than what's served at other (non-vegan) Thai places. We loved the kee mao noodles, pad Thai, red curry, P.E.T., and angry pork. Now I've had vegetarian and vegan pad Thai at other restaurants before, but they've never been able to get the full flavor down. My Vegan's version is so true to the actual flavor that I can't believe there's no real fish sauce in it. I'm not a vegetarian but I'd happily eat here again. Dishes are well portioned for the price, $13-$15 per dish. Service and decor are standard. I'd pass on the Tom yum soup-flavors weren't punchy enough and it didn't come with enough ingredients. The soy chicken was also strange- tasted like squishy gluten that was soaked in maple syrup. Will stick to tofu or try the other protein options next time. Aside from these minor misses, I'd highly recommend visiting when you have a Thai craving. read more

MY VEGAN POISONED ME!!!!!!!!!!! Came here thinking I was gonna have a vegan meal as I have been vegan for upwards of 17 years. 2 stars because the curry noodle with tofu was delicious. Tender noodles perfect tofu. I got to my fried vegetable dumplings took one bite and knew something was wrong. When I spit it out I was shocked and disgusted to find PORK IN MY DUMPLINGS. Tried their Tom Kah soup, veg spring rolls and kale salad. Enjoyed all of it v much! The soup was less lemongrass-y than I expected (which was a plus) - tasted more tomato / veggie soup with mild sour and tofu inside was firm and delicious with tons of mushrooms! Last month, I wanted to surprise my co-worker for his birthday with a vegan lunch because he only eats vegan on Tuesdays due to personal reasons. So I was in search for a vegan restaurant in Pasadena. Another co-worker of mine recommended My Vegan which is an Asian fusion-inspired vegan restaurant. Before I venture on going with My Vegan, I wanted to first try their foods so one weekend I ordered several of their vegan dishes to-go. Now keep in mind everything made here is vegan at least that's what I was informed. I've eaten at a handful of different vegan restaurants in the past and mushrooms (I love mushrooms!) seem to be the main ingredient that is substituted for the actual meat. But at My Vegan, I believe they use organic tofu (I love tofu, too!). Anyway, here's my feedback on the dishes... 1. Pad Thai Chicken - This was very tasty... vegan chicken was delicious... texture of the noodles were on point. A definite keeper! 2. Pad Woon Sen Shrimp - This was good except for the vegan shrimp that tasted a little bitter for some reason. Will order again, but probably won't get it with shrimp next time. 3. Pad See Ew Fried Tofu - This was perfect... tasted just like the non-vegan version. Another keeper! 4. Yellow Curry Chicken - This was delish! I really liked the curry flavor... it had a lot of vegan chicken strips... would have liked more vegetables though. Still a definite yes! 5. Green Papaya Salad - This was okay... thought the salad was too soggy... maybe too much lime juice in it. Won't order this again! Staff was okay. Prices were average. Atmosphere was pleasant. They do close a few hours between lunch and dinner times so do check on their business hours before heading over here. The one thing I did not try that I normally try whenever I try a new Thai restaurant is their Thai Ice Tea... maybe next time. Perhaps I got thrown off since it's not fully a Thai restaurant LOL. After trying out the above foods, I decided to go with My Vegan for my surprise lunch. Guess what happened? Well, something came up and we had to switch our lunch from Tuesday to Wednesday. The surprise was on me... seem to be a trend these days LOL. Hence, we didn't need to eat vegan after all. After further thought, I made the decision to go non-vegan. It's all good. I am glad I got a chance to try My Vegan. If you're into vegan foods or not, this is a good place to eat at for healthier food choices. Happy My Vegan'ing! read more

My family came here on Thanksgiving day during our drive down. We were seated immediately. Interior: not much to it. Looks old but it works. Tables were clean with hand sanitizer on each table. Menu: fairly big so it was hard to decide what to get. They suggested three house specialties: yellow curry noodle, spicy ramen, and special pad Thai. Food: Yellow curry noodle and pad Thai has plenty of flavor. The spicy ramen was not what I was expecting. It's not Japanese ramen and also isn't instant ramen. Ever since we moved from the area we have missed coming here to My Vegan. The food is delicious and our favorites include the wonton soup, pad see ew, pad Thai, and jade rice. Although we aren't vegan we do enjoy eating at many vegan restaurants and this is definitely one of the best we have tried. Our daughter loves the noodles and impossible burger too. I'm not a vegan... but I enjoy having vegan meals with my friends now and then. It makes me feel good not to sacrifice a living creature for my meal. I know... it's baby steps... but at least it's a step toward a good direction. The food here is alright. I've had better vegan dishes before. They do have a big selection to choose from in their menu. The service is excellent. Server was patient to let us go through the whole menu and ask questions. Like I said.. there are a lot of things on the menu. The ambience.... well... it's more of a regular night out kind of place. Don't think it's a date night kind of place. Located in a strip mall complex with Dominos and in between a donut shop and cleaners, the restaurant has about 6 tables available for customers to dine in and outdoor seating as well. Parking lot can get busy but it wasn't too hard to find a spot as cars are constantly arriving and leaving the lot. Menu was pretty extensive but I had a chance to try the pad see ew with tofu, pad thai with tofu, and tom yum with soy chicken. I would have to say I prefer the taste of tofu as the protein source rather than the soy chicken. The pad see ew and pad thai were tasty but on the pricier side. The tom yum was lukewarm and average in taste. Overall, it's a decent option for those wanting to try vegan Thai food and I could see myself coming back for the pad see ew and pad thai. I've recently had to go dairy free... And was looking for a place that could easily accommodate that. We ordered through Uber eats, and the food was amazing! We ordered the angry pork, carbonara, pasta, yellow, curry noodle, and sweet potato fries. The yellow curry noodles were to die for! They were so much flavor... Definitely beats out a lot of other Thai restaurants I've tried. I would come again just to eat that. my hubby love the angry pork. My Vegan has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants - I've been twice in two weeks and can't wait to go back! They have tons of vegan options, ranging from delicious Thai food to more western dishes. The P.E.T. is my favorite. My Vegan is one of my favorite vegan Thai food restaurants! Their prices are fair and their servings are filling. I always order the orange chicken, yellow or green curry (they're both super good!) and pad thai or pad see ew. Their dishes were all so delicious, it was really enjoying being able to eat 3 different dishes that all complimented each other. Servers were nice! One time I ordered through Postmates and the cashier told me that if I ordered through the My Vegan website it might be a better discount for me as they have deals/discounts of their own. When I'm in the mood for healthy Thai cuisine, My Vegan options are limited but this place does the job (see what I did there *hehe). I tried the Curry Noodle for the first time today and regret not ordering this before. The curry is rich and hearty, paired with yummy noodle. The "chicken" is tender and everything worked really well together. The Pad Thai is a hit or miss but more of a miss for me. It's good but for some reason, I don't like the eggplant with my noodles. The consistency is a bit strange but my wife does like it. The Papaya Salad is okay. I wish there was much more tang and flavors but it was simply lacking. The egg rolls are good but they arrive very soggy. If you have the time, make sure to crisp them up in an air fryer or over the stove - it tastes eons better. The standout dishes for me were the orange chicken and the angry pork. Both were bursting with flavor and had the perfect texture. It's hard to believe they're vegan! For dessert, the carrot cake was moist, perfectly spiced. To wash it all down, I enjoyed their Thai iced tea, which was refreshing and indulgent at the same time. I love having a vegan Thai spot in my neighborhood, for the occasional (read frequent) curry fix. I absolutely love the yellow curry noodles here. Most of the time I'm here, that's what I order, and it's probably the best I've had outside of Thailand. I've also had the My Vegan Dal (pretty bland, wouldn't order again), papaya salad (pretty meh, none of the ingredients were fresh, sauce could have used more flavor), and the mango sticky rice (yummy, but then again I've never had a mango sticky rice that wasn't). My friends and I came here at 8:20 on a Sunday-- accidentally coming in far too close to closing-- and they took fantastic care of us. The service was kind and remarkably fast, and the food was incredible. None of us are vegan, and only two of us are vegetarian, but all five enjoyed our meals! I got the Pad See Ew with Tofu and the Green Beans with Soy Beef. The soy beef changed my life. I'm not exaggerating. I've never tried vegan meat before until now, and I don't know if this is how all vegan meat tastes like but if it is, I'm becoming vegan today. My Vegan does such an amazing job at replicating the taste, texture, and look of real meat. I had to stop and stare at my boyfriend while eating and figure out whether or not I just ate real meat or not. The green beans were sautéed along with some bell peppers and the soy beef. The sauce was slightly spicy, and garlicky. I absolutely loved this entree. This also comes with a side of rice as well. The pad see ew was delicious as well. The noodles were a bit stuck together and kind of gelatinous but the sauce and tofu with it was wonderful. Overall, the star of the night was definitely the green bean entree. I go specifically for the yellow curry noodles. So. Damn. Good. Sometimes I'll add the RIPP (rest in peace porky). I veered from my usual order last time and got the mushroom coconut soup noodle dish and it was also delicious. So glad I'm just down the street from this place so I can get flavorful Asian noodle soup without meat broth. Waitstaff is always friendly. Unfortunately I don't have any photos for this and I really should have taken some. To be quite honest I did not expect this place to be so good. First of all just to add some context I am a carnivore through and through, but every now and then I like to cleanse my palate, clean my belly and go completely meatless. When you walk in they do greet you and from the sound of it I wasn't sure if English was their first language, but it doesn't matter they were very sweet kind and the food was absolutely delicious. I brought my family so it wasn't just my opinion that I'm sharing it's their experience as well. The dishes that we had were Orange chicken, pho, beef broccoli, fried rice, and various drinks not too sure what they were but I don't remember. There was nothing that I dislike there at all.
