Use to love this place, came here almost weekly before covid. Still like it, but not the same. Haven't been here since the Covid garbage began. But today we found ourselves in the area, so we went. Before Covid you could order and your food would come out in a realistic "we cooked your order fresh timeframe". Not so anymore. Post mates orders take precedence over dine-in eaters. Maybe that's a take a number issue. The staff are still attentive and nice. Counters and tables need wiped down more often. Food : chicken sandwich was as I remember it. Still good but somethings different. Mac and cheese, uh oh, they were improving it last time I was here, it was good. This time, couldn't eat more than two bites of it. Wife's buttermilk chicken on the salad she ordered was not the same as last either. Changed for the worse. Maybe it's the busiest was growth causing this or lack of help available currently. We went to try out this new joint, and it has all the elements of success. Ample portions. Unique flavors. Friendly staff. The chef came up and chatted on the recipe and his love of peppers. I ordered the weakest sauce I could get and it was perfect. My buddy got the mid range and felt the fire. And the curveball winner was the Watermelon cucumber salad. I loved it. As a designer, I was impressed with their branding. They put thought in to the space and graphic design. Whoever they worked with did a great job. This chicken was pretty good! They also have yummy macaroni and cheese. I have been able to enjoy this fare several times. It does get VERY crowded in here when it's peak times, but I've also been able to get food with few tables sat. It's also easy to walk to 8th Street Market with it and enjoy your meal there. read more

Some of the best chicken there is especially spicy chicken. It's very filling I have tried the tenders the the Nashvillian sandwich, both were very good. I would recommend starting with a level 2 and working your way up if it's not spicy enough. read more

I'm so glad that there is a great Nashville hot chicken option in OKC! Nashbird offers four different spice levels along with two no heat options, so there is something for everyone. The chicken tenders are popular, however I really enjoy their chicken sandwich. Most recently I ordered a 2 piece white meat meal, but the chicken had too much fat. I'll make sure to stick with the tenders or the sandwich next time. Their sides though are incredible! They have all of my favorites with fried pickles and onion rings, and a new favorite with the hot mac n' cheese poppers. Why have I not always been eating fried mac and cheese? Their regular unfried mac n' cheese is amazing too. I can't tell what it is, but something about their spices or breadcrumbs truly make it delicious. This is a cute little gem in the heart of OKC. I very much enjoyed the look of this place on the inside, and the food as well. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. One thing I've never had but wanted to try was the Frozen Rosé and Frozen Jack and Coke, which they did not disappoint with. The drinks aren't heavy on your stomach and are very tasty at the same time. The chicken is the perfect level of spicy and not too greasy at all. It's a good amount of food for what you pay for (in my opinion). I came here with a fairly large group and they were kind enough to accommodate us. I will start by saying I came here for chicken and the chicken was very good. With that said we were not as excited by some of the other items we had. The fried pickles came out over cooked but did have good flavor. The Mac and cheese was room temp but had good flavor. The most disappointing thing about my visit was that I was unable to purchase a side biscuit. They have biscuits but only for a sandwich. I wound up purchasing a biscuit sandwich so my wife could have a biscuit which was very good. I hope in the new Edmond location they sell biscuits a la carte. read more

I came into Nashbird early for lunch today bc I've been craving some Nashville style chicken. The girl at the counter was attentive and helpful. The food was decent and my order came quickly. The girl who took my order checked on me to see how I liked everything. The only thing I would have appreciated was if the owner had also came to see how everything was. I know this isn't a big deal to a lot of people, however he was there walking around, and it wasn't busy. I've been to Nashbird 3-4 times now and have seen the owner every time I've been there and he has never asked how things were. I feel if you're a small business owner it's just a courtesy, especially if you've got time, to check on your customers. Nashbird is my favorite chicken stop in the city. From the insanely good frozen jack n coke to the fried Mac n cheese, you really can't go wrong. Took my family including my parents who are in their 60s, and my sister's family of 3 younger children. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cool, but they were playing 50 cent and Nelly loudly the entire time. For me and my wife who are in our 20s, we loved it, but for my older parents and the younger kids, not so much. They didn't care for some of the explicit lyrics in the songs. Not a knock, but maybe just consider your audience you take. They did turn it down some when we asked, which was welcomed. Don't take the hot scale lightly. I think we went with the 3rd step of the hot scale, and it was almost too much. The strips were good, but you had to take a drink immediately after each bite. Parents got the chicken wings, and they were almost entirely batter. While it was very crisp and had good flavor, they had almost no meat. If you like pickles, their pickle ranch was really good and cooled off the heat from the chicken. I feel like this is a place that should have excellent sides, but they were very average. The Mac-n-cheese, onion rings, and French fries were all just okay, nothing special. I think like many other users on here, good to go once with a younger group, try the drinks and chicken, but likely won't return. read more
