If you're ever in the mood for some good non authentic Thai food with a boujee flair, and served up with a side of nasty service...this is the place! I walked in and there were numerous tables available but they decided to seat me in the dark, back corner in front of the waterfall. I felt water splatters all throughout the service. Wanted to change the seat but it the tables got packed real quick. The waiter tried to be polite but he didn't do well trying to mask it. He took the order with an attitude I'll never forget. It had discrimination written all over it. I placed my order. It took 40 minutes for the food to reach my table. I ordered "Natalee's Rice" with Chicken (which was a basic Ka Prow dish mixed in with some white jasmine rice.) I also ordered "Hot Stuff" (which was a simple Thai chicken stir fry.) Both were very delicious but there was no difference in flavor. It tasted the same. After I was done eating and it was time to pay the bill, none of the waiters and waitresses would check to see if we were ready to leave. I waited 15 minutes before I got up to the bar to grab someone's attention. The guy quickly swiped my card and slammed the receipt dish like he was frustrated at something or someone. Not even a second passed by, he left me to attend another table. It truly felt like he didn't want to service my party just because we were brown. We went to the line at the cashier to pay. HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE! We had to go to the cashier to request soy sauce, our drinks, she didn't ask what spice level we wanted and the seafood combo and soups were like walking on a land mine! Not enough milk in the world can stop the burn. My lips are still burning 2 hrs later. I've been going to this location for 20 years. When I look at prices for other places it's actually comparable. Parking lot in the back, wasn't too hard to find a spot. Arrived on a Wednesday evening around 5:30pm, which wasn't too crowded so I was seated right away. It did start getting busy around 7pm. It has an industrial feel to it with plenty of space inside and some outdoor seating. Service was great! They greeted us right away, came by to check on us throughout the meal and refill our water. Usually I would recommend this Thai place since I tried it a few times over the years. Unfortunately can't say the same after my recent visit to Natalee Thai. Very disappointed. Payed for a $15 pad Thai the had a TON of egg and only 3 small shrimp and 4 tiny pieces of chicken. Barely had any noodles since most of it was big chucks of fried eggs. The Korean BBQ dish wasn't any better either. The meat was hard couldn't even chew it. The Malay was okay. Mostly the veggies the chicken was bland. Even when we brought it to our server's attention he only apologized because he said they have different cooks. But never offer to change our food or refund us. Not to mention we even got the wrong bill. Feel like it was i waste of food and money. Customer care was lacking. Definitely not the same Natalee Thai i tried before. I would like to dryly note that a name change is probably in order for this restaurant, as they not only serve (as your sharply honed mind has undoubtedly already deduced) Thai food, but apparently also sushi, sashimi, and ... chow mein ... :-| But, I digress ... overall, this place is not bad. I sampled their Pad Thai (which comes with shrimp and chicken), and it's pretty decent (plenty of tamarind, and the shrimp was cooked *just* right). A little on the pricey side I think, given the portion size ... but then again, this is west LA, so I'm going to give the restaurant a pass on that. I've had better Thai Iced Coffee elsewhere, but theirs is not *too* bad ... interestingly, this is the first incarnation of the beverage that I've been served with sprinkles of coffee chunks (or whatever that was) ... The service by the staff here is pretty superb. Attentive, friendly, and they didn't bring me the check before I asked for it. Bravo. Plenty of available customer parking in the lot. This place has been at this location for years! I stopped in for dinner with friends on a Monday night recently. Be aware! The noise level is loud and the temperature inside is chilly! The food portions were plentiful, but the food overall lacked in quality, and of course, like anything else, the prices went up! The Chinese chicken salad was THE best out of the dishes our table ordered. The chicken satay was served with too little peanut sauce causing you to ask for more. Waitstaff was attentive. She's picky about her Pad Thai so we searched for a place that sounded good. She was really impressed so you know this spot is great! Had a delivery order for the office. The website is very easy to use and convenient. The menu was easy to pick and any special requests can be typed and given easily. The food tasted great. Your typical Thai food with all the Thai traditional foods like curry, tom yum, pad thai and etc. The only reason that I gave 3 stars is this. It took over 90 mins to get the food. So fine, it takes a long time to get the food. But when I called about the delivery they weren't sympathetic nor apologetic. It's too bad. I'm always up for trying a new Thai restaurant. This one had okay Thai food but the service brought my star rating down from 4 to 3 stars. The waitress wasn't the most friendly waitress. She gave me major attitude when we left the restaurant and I had to go back in to use the restroom to get something out of my eye. Maybe she already forgot serving me but she treated me like trash and I could tell she didn't want me to use the bathroom. Also, the service was very slow. Looking for a place to get good takeout for a special occasion. There are a few tables outside, and that would have been our preference, but all were occupied, so we ate inside. The tables were spaced well, and they took covid precautions by leaving some tables unoccupied. We ordered chicken panang curry, pad thai with chicken, and the lunch special with a quarter BBQ chicken (they only have white meat) and BBQ ribs. Service was good. All of the food was great. My favorite was the falling off the bone ribs. Portions were generous, and we decided that we had found what we were looking for. Of course it's hard to find "Authentic Thai Food" in Los Angeles besides a very few Hole-in-the-walls in The Southland but, this spot is pretty darned good! 2 Locations on Venice Blvd in Culver City & on Robertson Blvd in Beverly Hills. I believe the one on Venice Blvd has better tasting food. The one on Robertson Blvd has the ambiance. I mean, it must be good if Movie Stars frequent this place with all the choices they have with all the Legit Food they have access too. I Love their Green Curry Beef, Rama's Ribs (Dry) with their Tsunami Fish Sauce, Andaman Seafood Soup, Thai Sausage, Larb Salad, Beef Salad, Broccoli Beef, Duck Delight, Thai BBQ Chicken, Black Mushroom Ginger Chicken, Chicken Satay, Harmony Shrimp and their Cheesecake was pretty good. Natalee Thai seems to be a locals favorite. This is a very spacious clean space with free parking out back or metered street parking available. I've been here multiple times and the waiters are fast and efficient, however rather short. I've never had to wait to be seated. Although I usually get the pad thai this time around I got the pad see ew, Panang curry and the Tomka soup. The panang beef was probably my favorite dish because it was very soft and tender. I hadn't been to Natalee Thai in a few years and was truly looking forward to treating my friend to what would've been her first time there today. It didn't happen. At 1:20pm on a Saturday with open seating at the bar and several empty tables, we couldn't even be seated. When the server came, he took the name of the person who'd been waiting a good while ahead of us, told him the wait time, added his name to the list, and left the podium without a word! 1st problem: No acknowledgment? 2nd problem: He couldn't write down the name of more than one party successively on a list? 3rd problem: A long line had formed behind us when the server finally returned. 4th problem: He still didn't greet us, but started right in on how long the wait would be, in a tone that seemed like he was trying to discourage us from staying. (The wait time he gave us, by the way, was much longer than what he told the person ahead.) I mentioned that I'd heard the wait time and was okay with it, but I voiced my disappointment for why he hadn't taken our names down after he'd taken the guy's name ahead of us. 5th problem: This fella stopped short of writing down our names, told me he had something else he needed to do and walked away. Straight to the take out counter I went and asked the lady there if she could call for the manager when she had a moment. It was then that I learned the server wasn't the only person who needs to be fired and sent somewhere far away from any customer service environment. As if my statement, "when you get a moment" implied that I was unwilling to wait, this woman waved her hand at me dismissively and snapped, "You'll have to wait." My friend and I proceeded across the street to Thai BBQ, was greeted pleasantly, seated immediately, and served DELICIOUS, FRESH food that tasted BETTER than anything I've had at Nat's. So, thank you, Natalee Thai, for sending my money and palate to someplace well deserving! What a good impression you left on a new customer. I didn't get either one of the incompetent servers' names, but he was white, 30s, had a man bun and a full beard. Take out lady was a makeup-less Asian with an ear-length bob. We had family visiting from Texas who can't leave LA without visiting their favorite gem of Thai food. We've gone to Natalee Thai for ages, food has changed but nonetheless it's still tasty and we appreciate all the memories we've made here. What made our experience exceptional was this phenomenal employee, Mai, who took excellent care of us all, what amazing organization and leadership that she holds. "I'm just the bartender" she said, she could've fooled us all. She looked like she ran this place :). Remembered everything we ordered, tended to our needs (refills on drinks; napkins; condiments etc) and always with a smile on and never once made us feel like we were overbearing with our orders. So far I've only ordered the Pad Thai (sit-down & to-go) and Pad See Ew (to-go) and both the taste (authentic enough) and amount (I was comfortably full) of food were great! HEY! They've even got the ratio just right! Perfect distribution amount of noodles to choice of protein, to veggies, etc. Prices were reasonable and comparable to other Thai restaurants in the area. It's a timing thing. The food tasted just the right saltiness and balanced with sweetness. I would probably give the pad Thai 2 out of 5 stars cuz the sauce was too runny and would be better with either thicker noodle or more of it. The place has a happy ambiance for family and friends. The shrimp medley ( tempura type with veggies) with sauce on the side was really good. Just the right thickness and texture ( not too oily) of tempura powder. We have been coming here for years and always loved the food, but this was the first visit since the pandemic . Here are some of the problems we faced with the service- 1. We ordered the food and about 15 min later another waiter came to take our order. He was unaware 2. After a much longer than usual wait, food arrived but there was no silverware, had to ask for it multiple times. By the time silverware and plates arrived some of the food was already cold 3. They forgot to bring 1 dish which finally came when we had almost finished eating 4. We ordered fried bananas for dessert . The waiter brought small plates and spoons and we waited.
