Greesy cheap thai. At 2 meals here in the last week; veggie curry & eggplant with tofu. Both with brown rice. Food was oily, low quality, gave me a stomach ache. I wouldn't say that this is the BEST Thai food that I've had. It's decent and super Americanized. The ambiance is great (clean and modern) but I'm not sure how I feel about the Japanese sushi bar in the same venue as a Thai restaurant. I think the managers are just trying to do too much. This was a surprisingly good Thai restaurant that we found open on Christmas Eve. The restaurant is tucked away in a small strip mall with limited parking. It is a non pretentious and friendly place but serves good food. We ordered spring rolls, golden wings, and chicken sate. The spring rolls and wings were just okay but the chicken sate' was quite good. The peanut sauce that really makes the chicken sate was especially good. For the main dish, the red curry chicken which distinguishes the good Thai restaurants from the mediocre, was very good. I did not care for the consistency of the curry --- I normally prefer it to be thicker --- but I couldn't argue with the taste, which was extremely flavorful. I also really liked the flat noodles (lad na) with pork. They had a gingery taste which was just right. The prik King (chicken with green beans) was good, but nothing special. There was also a crispy fried fish in red sauce. I was expecting quite a different dish, drier with more spices, but enjoyed the taste nonetheless. The gravy was especially good. Not a family friendly environment. The main server didn't even bother taking our order, some other guy from the bar helped us, who was very kind but nevertheless the careless attitude of the owner was noticeable when we asked for some food to be done in a way that our children can eat; we were just turned down. It felt somewhat unwelcoming. The food was average; tried the Pad Thai, the noodles are good but the spicy eggplant wasn't fresh, it may have been sitting in the oil for so long. This is my second time to Natalee Thai over the last several years. I don't remember what I had before but I enjoy the Thailand Shrimp Cake and Malay Vegetable dish very much this time around. The curry is a bit too sweet for both the green and red curry. The server is very patrons oriented which is the most important part of being in a restaurant. Natalee is one of my go-to Thai restaurant. I mostly get it to-go or order for delivery. (Dine-in only once). So my experience is more toward takeout experience. Seriously, Natalee knows how to pack foods for delivery/to-go. It's secured well and nicely packed. First time here last night. We sat at the bar, they seem to have a good selection of liquor. We ordered chicken pad se ew, sampler platter with chicken satay, fried wontons, shrimp cake and egg rolls. Pad se ew with chicken strips and slices of chinese brocolli tasted as it should except that the noodles are too broken off like it was stirred too much. A friend wanted the Hi, Yo! Silver! Noodles with extra Shrimp, chicken, & vegetables, so I stopped here to bring this dish for a small dinner party of 4. I got two orders and it was more than enough to share. It was my 1st time eating from here, so I got one dish as friend wanted it and another one minus the egg (egg pieces can be large in dish, it's not finely chopped. Just FYI). It was still delicious. We waited over 40 minutes for our food, and on top of that, our waiter was rude and walked away from us when we asked if she could check on our order for us. She said it would take 3 minutes and the food came out way longer after that (It's because she didn't check with the kitchen first). It wasn't until right before the food actually came out that the waiter told us the kitchen forgot our order "but there was nothing [she] could do about it." Except maybe check that our food was being made 20 minutes ago when we asked.... Food was decent. I came here in a group of 7 on a Wednesday night to grab some food for one of my friend's birthday. Luckily we made reservations beforehand because when we got there, the place was pretty much full except for our reserved table. The parking lot behind Natalee Thai is tiny, there's only like 5 spaces but luckily I snagged one. There's plenty of metered parking on the streets (which is free after 8PM) or you can park in the Smart and Final lot next to the restaurant. I shared with my friend and we got chicken Pad See-Ew and Pork Spicy Monsoon Noodles. They looked kind of the same to me when we first got it. The spicy noodles weren't spicy enough so I added more chili. Our waiter was slow, but he seemed to be the only one since all our other waiters were doing a fine job. Portions were generous and the food all came out at once, which is nice, so everyone can start eating together. They also gave my friend free ice cream with candles for her bday! The restaurant is a little confused, in my opinion- its decorated like a modern artsy place, with exposed metal and bright colors, and it serves sushi, thai food, and Korean bbq. Terrible food and service. This is the kind of place where it doesn't matter what kind of food they're selling, they're just trying to run a business in the black. The kind of place where you can get a long island iced tea in a shrimp cocktail bowl with some vaguely exotic name, while your tablemate orders a General Tso's Chicken with a side California Roll. I'm not certain that all of the 27 people who offered to charge us for another Thai Iced Tea even worked there. And yet they seem to be wearing horse blinders when you're trying to get your check and leave. This place is great if you're tacky and have no taste buds. read more

Average tasting Thai food but really love the architecture though. Small pation with a few tables outside by the fountain for any smokers, lots of traffice on Venice Blvd though. Server was inattentive. Had to flag a buser to ask him for beverage refills and water for a latecomer as well as rice for one of the entrees. Assisted one of the women working there in advising a transient to leave the bathroom and property or be subject to citation for trespass. Small lot with maybe ten spots behind the restaurant. I think you may be towed if you park in the Smart & Final lot next door. They have many signs up advising "Smart & Final Customer Parking Only". Also are some signs that say lot is locked at 7 PM, and there were chains wrapped around poles on either side of the driveways. read more

Natalie Thai has a great menu with plenty of options. Personally I prefer their seafood options...especially the soft shell crab marinated in yellow curry. The staff is courteous, the ambience is great, it is easy to find parking, etc. Overall it's a nice spot...check it out. read more

I've been going to Natalee Thai since the 90's and I LOVE the food! My favs: Yum Yai, Rama Ribs -always ALWAYS tender! California Curry - moist chicken and good sized chucks of carrots and potatoes (I buy a to-go order of this every time---it's that good). Heavenly Combo in 30 years I've never received a bad order of this rice dish. Thai Chicken (it used to come to the table flaming) and the dipping sauce that goes with it is sooo good that you will hate everyone else's. The Thailand shrimp cakes (the old recipe was better, but my hubby still loves them) Broccoli Prawns (not sure they still this one, the crisp broccoli and garlicky shrimp ~ YUM-O). On March 17, 2023, I ordered the shrimp with fried rice, and chicken. The chicken tasted very dry and the rice and shrimp tasted stale. Later that night, I got severe food poisoning from the chicken. I spent all night vomiting and crying in the bathroom from 2 am until around 7 am. I was in horrible condition for a week. All I could eat was saltine crackers and pedialyte. I even had to visit the doctor's office. The cashier was rude when I asked if they have shrimp. Please do not serve contaminated/ expired food to the customers. Absolutely horrendous. read more

My folks live pretty close to this place and but never really tried it because Thai BBQ is right across the street and I love that place. So this review may be a little on the biased side :) Their big plus over Original Thai BBQ is that they have a bar and you can order practically any drink you want...most people get those Lychee Martinis there. Pricing is a little high(at least it was for dinner, lunch may be a different story, as it is with many other places), but it was still very decent food - food that I would order again if didn't mind spending more than I usually would on Thai food. Not that Thai needs to be cheap, but you know what I mean. Locale - really convenient to get to, there's ample parking and very visible from the street, so it's hard to get lost. However, it can get pretty packed...we waited about 30 min before we got seated(but then again, we were a party of 8 and one lady just refused to get up from the table....KNOWING we were there...but that's more on the customer than it is on the restaurant, I'm just venting, he he he). Natalee Thai seems oddly placed, smushed between all the trashiness of this stretch of Venice Blvd. My regular weekday runs loop past here, and the consistently glorious smells wafting from the place have made me want to try Natalee Thai for a while. Usually the nose knows best. The first time I went here, I was impressed. The thai chicken came out on a flaming platter which was pretty exciting, the Path See-iw noodles were outstanding, the prices were reasonable ($22 for two dishes, no drinks), and the shortbread cookies with the check were a nice touch. But since then, it has failed to impress. The food has been average to disappointing and the service less than wonderful. If you're looking for good Thai food in an upscale atmosphere, hit up TUK TUK on Pico. Much better choice. read more

My wife and I visited Natalee a few times when she used to live down the street on Venice. At the time, I was trying to find a Thai restaurant that would wow me. The first time we went we noticed that the prices were kind of high, but there were a wide variety of dishes available to choose from. When experimenting with a new restaurant, we like to try a variety of things with different meats and contents to get a feel for what's good. We got a noodle dish, a rice dish, a roll of sushi, and some vegetable dish. All of it was good, but not great for the prices. We went again and tried some different dishes of the same variety, and weren't impressed any more. The strange thing was that the place was packed at night and often involved a wait. I just couldn't fathom why it would be so popular when, to me, it wasn't that good. As I noted in my review for Mr. Noodle in Westwood, I have yet to be excited by any Thai restaurant I have ever been to, so there is a good chance that Thai is not right for me, but given that a lot of people said Natalee is the best in the area, and I have been to a few other Thai places in the area that are comparable or better, I can't say I agree with those individuals. Summary: If you like Thai, it might be really good to you. I didn't find the excitement and I felt it was overpriced in addition to overrated. read more

So far, one of my favorite Thai restaurants here! I'm from Thailand so I know this is not 100% authentic Thai, more like a fancy Americanized Thai in an affordable price I would say. I ordered padthai Everytime and the taste is consistently good! Another favorite is Garlic Goodies with pork! You just can keep eating it more and more (but not good for a date night cus they give u supreme garlic lol) Chicken Sate is also good. Normally in Thai we have Pork Sate but this chicken is so yum like undeniable!! End your meal with a dessert like Fried Banana!! And you will have a good night!!! read more

Gave 2 stars for the food portion and for parking. Visited them on monday(on christmas) and the person helping was really WEIRD. She didn't care to answer my questions about vegetarian menu. when i asked her about flat noodles, i was answered "everything on the menu can be made with vegetabes" without even eye contact.She started laughing at me when i asked her to replace meat with "soft" tofu. She: Soft tofu? smiles me: yes She: soft tofu? me: yes, is something wrong with soft tofu? i see you smiling unusually? She: i am smiling as it's my job to smile me: !!?!! We got our food and we started eating. Had to ask her twice for water refill only to see her ignoring us.
