Located about two blocks from the Seal Beach her, this is a small restaurant that is popular for their breakfast burritos and sandwiches. It sits directly next to the "old town garden" so if a table/seating in the patio area provides for a peaceful and relaxing view. The lines are long but service is quick, efficient and friendly. We found the breakfast burritos to be satisfying but average in taste and basic in its ingredients (eggs, potatoes and your choice of meat). It's light seasoned so you will need to add your own salsa or salt/pepper to kick if up a notch. The house salsa reminded me more of tomato sauce than salsa but we used the hot sauce provided at each table to help kick it up a notch. It was okay overall and we will likely pick up some breakfast burritos or sandwiches next time we are in the area to take along with us for a walk to the pier/beach. read more

Best of Nick's is the Breakfast Burrito. I order mine with egg whites and everything else that comes in it. $7.51 with tax. CASH only (And Nick is serious about the penny--he will not round to 50 cents.) Nick's is on Main Street in Seal Beach--a very nice shopping restaurant street that many people don't know about because it's not obvious from PCH. I like to come here during the week when I can sneak away from work. In fact, when you live in Los Angeles, any trip to Orange County is like a resort vacation. If you come here during the business week there will be little to no line and you can have the street to yourself. If you come here on a weekend there will be a long line and a ton of people wall to wall. It's a super popular place. The last time here Nick was worn down from all the Covid restrictions so he was LA friendly=not too friendly but pleasant. I took my Burrito and sat outside on the tables in front. As you can see from my photos--Nick's is famous for the stand-up Burrito. In fact, while I was taking that picture of the Burrito this woman walked by me and commented, "I wish my husband could keep it up like that..." Okayyyy...After your Burrito take a walk on the Long Seal Beach Pier--it's really nice. They have all these cool ships docked in the distance and you can see the Long Beach coast. When you get back you will be ready for another Burrito. One day I had some extra time and walked around Seal Beach and the homes and apartments. After that walk I realized that I don't want to live in Seal Beach--ton's of scary ghetto like dilapidated substandard housing-I thought this was an upscale community?--but I would come back to hang out on Main Street and the Pier-it's nice there. Just stay on Main street is my suggestion. I don't know what is going on in that town? It was a weird experience walking around. There must be something I don't know about Seal Beach--maybe one day I will find out. There is something unusual going on there--I am telling you. read more

I dropped by Nick's on Main in DT Seal Beach bc Angelo's up the street was closed. Unfortunately, it was a mediocre experience. I ordered the ruben ($9.95), and three subs for my rellies ($7.95). First of all, the ruben was decent. The meat was good quality. However, there wasn't much of it, and the cheese was not melted. Likewise, the sub had a roll that was too bready, and light on the meat. One of my rellies took the meat off the bread, and put it on a different type of bread. The owner was friendly. Nonetheless, my food took a while. Two big downsides are cash only, and the COVID logistics. I was waiting for my sandwiches outside in an area that I thought was low traffic. Two dumbasses didn't walk out the normal exit, and decided to walk out the side exit where I was. The same two dumbasses blocked the exit lane when I went to pick up my sandwiches: Don't you know what six feet is?! There is no way I would return for mediocre food, and a COVID pain in the ass. I've been eating at Nick's for over 20 years, getting the breakfast burrito toasted with avocado. It used to be something to ease my hangovers and is now a delicious breakfast to share with my kids. The food is always so good. I've tried a couple things on the menu - sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, Mexican food - which are all superb but I always go back to the breakfast burrito with chorizo. We were in the Seal Beach area and my fiancé proclaimed this place the "best breakfast burrito place in the world". It was SO busy in there during a Saturday late morning. The workers were serving everyone so quickly though! I was glad to have some cash on me, as they are cash only and I did not see an ATM on site. When I first got my burrito I was a little disappointed, as I am used to much larger portions. However, it was DELICIOUS! Not full of eggs like a lot of other places do and I ended up not being able to finish it anyway. The salsa on the side was also great! I'd be happy to return to try some other things on the menu, as they had a long list of different sandwiches to choose from. Seen Nicks as the go to spot for a breakfast burrito and their chorizo bacon burrito did not disappoint. The Mrs and I went about a week ago and it was the best service and a great breakfast burrito. The setting looks like a to go Sammy shop but they have quite a bit of things and it all looked good so when I do come back I can for sure try another item. I wasn't super impressed with Nick's as I thought the Breakfast Burrito was super basic. It appears to be pretty popular but my group and I thought they were just a-ok. We got the traditional version with chorizo, egg, potato and cheese and it's all mixed together in one big mush so there's no differentiation in texture. The salsa reminded me of tomato sauce. Honestly, I don't get the hype. My husband raved about this place, and he still remembered the quality of the burritos 15 years later, so I was pretty excited. We called ahead to put in a pick up order, and of course they were super busy because it was the Fourth of July. Fortunately, we were able to place an order for pick up (but warning that we had tried a couple of days ago, and it was busy dial tone). Maybe it was because I got the healthy burrito with sausage, but I don't really get it. The flavor didn't really stand out. It tasted like mostly refried beans and cheese, and I didn't even finish it because I just wasn't wowed by it. Tasted meh/bland. My sister got a breakfast burrito and had the same experience. Really wish I was more wowed by it, so ended up going over to ma n pa's and had a corrective experience :). I have been going to Nick's for years other then a few miss understandings about an order it's been ok. Last week as a weekly patron I attempted to special order a breakfast burrito I was stopped in my tracks. The big guy behind the register put it plainly there is only one burrito here. I said oh that's to bad. My thought immediately was wow I come often always tip a dollar or two if this was a new or struggling business they would have taken the order happily. Instead it angered me and I thought wow my business is not needed here unless I have it the way they say what a disappointment. - Breakfast burritos - tasty, a bit hyped up in my opinion but they are good. - Pasta salad - not for me. It tasted sweet and I think the pickles in it may be sweet pickles but even if it's something else making it sweet I personally like my pasta salad savory. - Service - eh. I bought a coffee and when I asked what the difference was between the machines at the coffee counter I was told "eh nope I'm all done you'll see" and he walked away. I then proceeded to accidentally pour hot chocolate into my cup instead of coffee. Maybe I didn't look hard enough but I'm pretty sure the machine did not specify it was hot chocolate which is why I asked. I won't be going back. Great burritos for morning! I get them hot, without chorizo, and with avocado. Since 2008, I've been receiving them in this manner! Although I think it overpowers the other flavors, the chorizo is wonderful. When ordered without chorizo, the burrito has bacon, cheese, grilled potatoes, scrambled eggs, and either mild or spicy salsa. The avocado addition completes the flavor combo perfectly! I did have one of the better chorizo burritos I've had in a long time. I definitely was not expecting this place to have this. The flavors were spot on, and the spiciness of the burrito was great. I love a burrito that has a little bit of cake, but does not overpower with heat. You definitely had the chorizo flavors permeate in your tongue with every bite. The grease from the sausage seeping into the egg and potato gelled really well in the burrito. definitely happy. I made the stop here. The service was nice. The gentleman who helped us in the front was very nice. Kind a looks like a hole in the wall Spot being in Huntington Beach, but it is very Qwaint and relaxing. A definite must try. read more
