We started with a few salads, the baby wedge and the grilled romaine. Both were excellent, our favorite being the baby wedge. Best iceberg salad we've ever had and I'm not a big fan of iceberg. For entrees we had the scallops- giant, perfectly cooked, delicately seasoned, amazing. We also had the coffee rubbed pork -- utterly delicious. The bed of sweet potato hash was equally as amazing. For dessert we split the chocolate cake, your typical molten lava cake but baked perfectly. The custard ice cream was not as creamy as we would've wanted, it was icy and crystallized but after the perfect meal we were able to overlook that. We have always wanted to try this place out. Finally got a chance at Savannah Resto Week. We were a group of 12 and we were seated upstairs. The ambiance is beatiful, loved it. And there are few tables upstairs, so it gave the impression of a private room since the other tables were empty. I had the salad, braised beef short ribs and creme brulee. And my husband had the clam soup, salmon and chocolate cake. We were both disappointed. The food was rich with butter and did not taste great at all. We do not know if that was the case since it was resto week or of it is like this always. May be worth going at a regular time where you can order from the regular menu. read more

Wow! Came here for a special occasion birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! The food was great and the ambiance unlike anything else in Savannah. You feel like you're eating dinner in someone's elaborately decorated home. What was so fun is we had gotten to the restaurant early and had a chance to grab a drink at the very intimate upstairs bar. The staff was very attentive and we had great meals. I got the short ribs which were delicious and best, already off the bone. And my boyfriend got the lamb shank special that was a ton of food. We both left full bellied. Our experience was a mixed bag. Service was good. Bread had a heavy coating of salt. Way to salty for us. Clam soup was rich and tasty. Romaine salad was good. Scallops weren't very good. They tasted odd. Not sure if it was the scallops or the way they were cooked, but I found the taste offensive. I've eaten lots of scallops in my long life and these weren't good. JUST OVERALL NOT IMPRESSED Was not impressed at all. We eat out with groups of friends all the time trying various places in the downtown area, this place did not impress any of us. We went during Savannah restaurant week but they only had the restaurant week menu- nothing else. Ok, not a huge deal, except out the 3 entrees they offered they were out of 1 so you literally had two options. We got there at 7 so this is the busiest hour, not right before closing. We had 4 of us, they bring out 3 slices of bread. We kinda laughed and figured it was a mistake so we asked for more so each person could have their own slice. The waitress never smiled and acted very bothered. 3 steaks were all ordered medium rare and each came different ranging from medium well to very rare. Water glasses were filled half way each time. Just very odd service. Seemed very much on a budget. 1 in our party didn't want anything from the 2 option and would of gladly ordered from thier regular menu but they firmly said NO. I would of loved to try the regular menu, I do not feel they offered a good representation of their menu during restaurant week. I will say that the she crab soup and tiramisu were good. Would have been nice if they had advertised limited menu before hand or when we made the reservation. No other restaurant during restaurant week has done this. read more

This is a great french restaurant where the chef is definitely an artist! My wife and I had a lovely dinner, even though she couldn't order anything off the menu due to her food allergies. The chef put together a mashed potato and carrot meal and presented it in a fashion that denied its simplicity. I had the swordfish over lobster mashed potatoes and was very pleasantly surprised at the convergence of various flavors to make a truly enjoyable meal. My house salad was a work of art as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant when in Charlotte. It's a bit off the beaten path, but that is usually where you find the best places. read more

A wide choice of meats, seafood, soups and salads. The service was knowledgeable and attentive, and had that judge mental flair that is customary for A high-end French restaurant. It is located in abgentile, upscale neighborhood in Savanah near the cities beautiful parks, cultural venues, and art galleries. For Food, service, and atmosphere this place has nailed it. Dress is optional, as a tourist my jeans and outdoorsy outfit was accepted. I suspect this is usually a dressy, coat and tie, civilized spot most of the time. We have dined at this establishment before and were very pleased. Pleased enough to drive 3 hours just to eat. Last night was a different story. The cheese plate was marvelous, my salad was good. The wine selections were good as well as the bread basket and condiments. My husband had the salmon with a pea risotto which was lovely. Then there was my dish...scallops. Beautifully presented, pleasing to the eye however the scallops were off. In short they smelled foul....a seafood dish should not stink. A friend and I drove to Noble Fare from Charleston. A great jewel was discovered. The intimate restaurant atmosphere and staff are tremendous. The food is outta this universe delicious!! It was so pleasing to the palette from the palette cleanser mango sorbet to the coffee rub pork melt in your mouth loin!! And the food presentation was so beautiful , it made you want to weep for the pure joy of the experience. The warm bread and the pecan chutney were great as well. We were visiting Savannah for the first time celebrating my husband's 50th birthday with friends. First there was NO bartender. The waiters were making the drinks. We asked for a vodka gimlet. THEY SUCKED. We sent them back. We did not even want to drink them. She did not offer even an apology. It's not rocket science. There was no sign of a manager. The tuna tartar had no flavor. When our friend who is very educated wine lover....had a very hard time finding a decent wine. So the list sucked. I do not recommend this restaurant. Unbelievably good. I make it a point to eat here whenever I come to Savannah on business. Modern French cuisine... very creative chef. Quaint setting. Great wine list. Unbelievable food. Tonight I had a succulent braised veal with a goat cheese risotto with a little minty flair to it. Sweetbread appetizer. Also, you must try the "duck duck duck goose"- duck breast and fois gras over risotto... heavenly. Every attention to detail paid in the food and the presentation. We were in Savannah for two nights while celebrating our anniversary and we knew that one night we wanted to eat at The Olde Pink House but didn't have another place in mind for the other night. I booked a reservation at Noble Fare after reading the reviews and we were not disappointed. I fell in love with this place as soon as I walked in! It was so beautiful! It is quite small and has a more intimate atmosphere which was perfectly fine with me. Our server was very nice and soon after being seated brought out an amuse-bouche (which I have never actually had while dining) and then followed up with three types of breads. After we were finished with our bread, she brought out a palette cleansing sorbet if I remember correctly and it was amazing! I could've kept eating it and was sad when I finished the last bite! Whatever that was, don't ever stop serving it! It's so light and refreshing! My boyfriend ordered the Duck Duck No Goose which both he and I thought was delicious! I ordered the New York Strip which our server says the chef typically cooks to medium rare to medium. It was a bit more rare than I normally would eat but it was still very good and I had no trouble eating as much of it as I could. It was a huge portion (16 oz) so I was not able to finish it. We were so stuffed but still wanted a dessert. I mean, we were on vacation so what the heck right? We ordered the Creme Brulee which was soooooo good!!!! The plate had some caramel sauce on it which I couldn't get enough of. Wish I had their recipe! While we enjoyed our dinner at The Olde Pink House, I think we actually enjoyed our overall experience at Noble Fare better! read more

DISCLAIMER: Not an ordinary night so not pulling too many punches here. A New Year's Eve & Birthday Night FAIL. Gave restaurant notice of the special night. Its NYE & a birthday right? We arrive. The hostess is dressed in what she was wearing at school earlier. We're seated. Its a set menu which was neither mentioned when making reservation a week or so before. Too late, its 9:45 PM. The night became one where the waiter put off the attitude of going through the motions because of the set menu. Barely made conversation and each dish was placed without any introduction or pride. FYI, he knew he was getting an automatic %20 tip as the menu arrogantly stated. One champagne glass sat empty and unnoticed through 3 courses. Wasn't hard to spot at the edge of the table. During dinner, as we were sitting against front windows, we noted a homeless man walking in front of the restaurant back and forth on a cell phone, stumbling as if drunk and next thing we note, he walks into the restaurant and then back to the kitchen! He's an employee! Needless to say, it was only after our limo driver came in and serenaded our birthday date, which was the highlight of this listless restaurant vibe, did the waiter finally shrug, "Oh and Happy Birthday by the way" which was almost hilarious if the evening weren't such a joke. The Surf & Turf, wedge salad and flourless cake might have had something going for it under different circumstances but I'm just being nice at this point. First, I feel that it is only fair to disclose that we are from Atlanta and eat at many upscale restaurants however; we did eat at the Olde Pink House and were highly impressed. We chose to eat at Noble Fair on our first night in Savannah. We were immediately seduced by the small dark room and beautiful décor. Noble Fair had a very romantic ambiance and if I were only there for wine and conversation with my husband, I would have given it 5 stars however; I was there for a nice dinner. My husband ordered the rack of lamb and I ordered the NY Striptease, and a tease it was. The steak was priced at $39 and for a forty dollar steak I'm expecting to reach cloud 9... however; I was very disappointed. I ordered the steak medium rare and received medium to medium well. Now, I'm not over picky but when I pay forty dollars for a meal I expect that meal to be cooked correctly. Also, to be completely honest, I didn't care for the seasoning of the steak so, even if it had been cooked correctly I'm still not convinced that I would have cared for it. My husband didn't enjoy his lamb and said that there was nothing bad about it, it was just okay. Again, for food at $35 to $40 per plate, we expect more than just mediocre. The service was exceptional and the ambiance was very romantic but unfortunately Noble Fair is far too overpriced for their quality of food. They do have a small bar so if you make your way in here I would recommend a night cap at the bar with your significant other. read more

One of the best bread baskets ever - I usually try to avoid eating bread before my meals at restaurants but this one is worth ruining your appetite for! Luckily, my appetite was not ruined and i was able to enjoy their salmon special. The salmon was fantastic, but the mushrooms it was served with really stole the show. My wife and I came to Noble Fare based on yelp reviews and honestly the place blew us away. We took our waiter's (George) advice and ordered the scallops (the best we have ever had) and the pork with sweet potato hash (stunning). We left full, and happy. According to George, 60 percent of the clientele are local (which is good), and according to us, 90 percent of the clientele are aged 60+. Not a clubby hotspot, but if you love good food in Savannah and you don't mind a 15 minute walk, this place rocks. read more

When you are in Savannah, you really have to go. The restaurant have a great small town feel with a french twist. The atmosphere and decor is elegant, not overly decorated. Okay now food, we wanted to go with the 7 course meal but we didn't know much about the restaurant and not want to spend that much. Therefore, we went for an appetizer and 2 entries. -Appetizer: tuna tartar: they put an asian fruit called Dragonfruit. It gave me so many layers of flavor. First, you taste the dragonfruit with mango relish. Second, the tuna fish. Then the avocado. It was just perfect. -My friend ordered the scallops: It came with 4 scallops Oyster, Potato Puree, and Smoked Bacon & Corn Relish. It is like a party in my mouth. Hell, anything with bacon in it makes it better. -My dish: Duck-Duck-Goose: Duck Breast, Duck Confit, foie gras, and gooseberry vinaigrette. I have to say. THIS IS THE BEST THING that had ever happened to me. I love love love the duck breast. The meat is so moist and soft. The foie gras and duck meat together...my mouth is watering. Although we are not world wide travelers, I can say that the meals my wife and I enjoyed last night at Noble Fare was truly one of the best we have ever had. Certainly we have eaten at enough restaurants in Savannah, Ga to know this establishment is certainly worthy of a top 5 for the City. The two entrees that we selected were "Meat and potatoes" and "Duck,duck, no goose". The only thing understated about these meals were the names, as the meat was a filet cooked to perfection as was the duck. As we were celebrating our anniversary, we finished our meal with a delicious ice cream desert which proved to again be so much more to the palate than just ice cream. Even the fresh press coffee was delicious. Finally, our two servers were extremely professional and executed their jobs with perfect timing.
