A friend of mine once told me that if she ever has to choose a Last Meal While on this Earth, it will be the scallops at Noble Fare. With that endorsement, I ordered the scallops. They did not disappoint. I chose a special, which came with a spring risotto rather than the sides on the regular menu. The risotto was rich and creamy with bright pops of lemony sweet corn. Scallops were cooked perfectly, caramelized on one side and silky smooth. We started with a regional cheese plate, which was generously portioned and served with fresh fruit and bread. A smoky paprika oil (served on the side) sets off the sharper cheeses beautifully. My companion enjoyed the pork tenderloin entree tremendously. Nice wine list and a full bar. Relaxed and friendly service. In our books, this may just be the Best Meal in Savannah. read more

We went to Noble Fare to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary after carefully perusing our options. Always a fan of local farm to table cuisine, we had high hopes for our dining experience. Unfortunately we left our meal last night greatly disappointed. We choose the Chefs Tasting Menu with the wine pairing, easily the most expensive option on the menu. The food was mediocre - and wine pairings - meh is all I can say. The worst part was the server. She was condescending and barely gave us the time of day, too busy chatting with a customer at another table throughout our meal. I would suggest trying any other of Savannahs fine dining establishments before this one. We will definitely not be going back and feel like the $300+ spent last night was a huge waste. read more

Would give this restaurant an overall 6 out of 10. One of the entrees was the veal chop. Very tasty but extremely tough. Had difficulty cutting it with a steak knife. Also was shocked when they charged $6.95 for one cup of French pressed coffee. Will not return as we felt ripped off being over charged for the coffee. Very cute restaurant and decor. The food was good but during my visit to Savannah I enjoyed my meal at the The Pink House more. Atmosphere was lacking but this was most likely due to us being seated upstairs where it was very quiet. I know they did this in order to meet our reservation time but I would've preferred they had asked and we would've waited a bit more for a table in the main area downstairs. My husband and I were in vacation and we made a reservation here after I read a nice write up about Noble. It was a Thursday night, they were not crazy busy. We chose a wine, which was great and the food was wonderful. Our waitress was very nice and helped us choose our entrees. I would return again next time we're in town. read more

Was just there for Valentine's Day. Decor: Beautiful southern, I would not change a thing. Food: 1. Amuse bouche: a little toastie with a tiny bit of salmon on a cream sauce. Meh, quite boring. Amuse bouche is where the chef can truly show their freedom to create, this was not a good example. 2. Appetizer of soup: DELICIOUS, the best part of the meal - wild rushroom soup whipped to perfection with garlic croutons in the center. The portion size however was ENORMOUS. How that is supposed to be had as an appetizer before a large main is not quite clear. 3. Palate cleanser: Orange sorbet. Fresh and just the right amount. 4. Main of the NY strip: So many issues with this. a. why is this called NY striptease? Extremely inappropriate, and non funny especially given he serious setting. b. asked for the streak to be done medium well, seems like what she heard was charcoal well. No no no no, this is not a mistake a seasoned chef can make. I didnt want to destroy the valentines day date by sending it back and creating a fuss, but it pretty much destroyed the meal because some of the bits I took were just carcinogenic charcoal crusted fat. Disappointing at best, don't know if its the waitress who made the mistake or the chef did. The rest of the fixings with the meat was also subpar / subflavor. Service: The woman who was our waiter was very cold. Some smiles, being generally easygoing, will definitely help the service experience. Overall, I would go back again but only for the decor and that wonderful soup. On other thoughts, you can probably find something much better in this price range in Savanna. So maybe not. read more

This restaurant is so worth the money. I have been here several times and each time is truly a great experience. I have never gotten anything that was just so-so. The halibut I tasted during my last visit may have been the best fish I have ever had. My only complaint is that they can be a little slow when they get busy. The menu is limited but that is because they put so much care into every detail of each dish. I recommend this place to everyone. read more

Yum, yummier and yummiest! Such a lovely setting for our first night ever in Savannah. French decor with black on silver damask and raspberry silk drapes in the dining room. Charming bar on the 2nd floor was perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail while waiting for our table. The Savannah Bang cocktail started off the evening like a sweet Southern drawl. Tasty tidbits of special breads, a canape and sorbet between courses set the French flair. Having seen the size of the dinner portions being served in the dining room, we asked to share the Grilled Romaine Salad - many subtle flavors plus a smoky char to the salad. Hubby had the filet - just as he likes it and I swooned over the duck. Even with the classic French tunes wafting in the background - it was all still charmingly French and extremely tasty. read more

My fiancé and I ate here on vacation. Food was the best we had in Savannah on our 1 week vacation. The service was good. We thought the atmosphere was a little pretentious but could overlook that. Salads were large and tasty. There was a surprise appetizer -egg on a crustini that was ok but I wouldn't seek it out another time. The entrees were large and filet mignon was cooked wonderfully and had a mushroom side that was so flavorful. Pork medallions were really tender, very tasty and high quality meat. Dessert was banana ice cream that I would recommend. For two people with wine total with tip was $160. More pricey than other restaurants but the flavors were the best in our opinions. read more

Had a late dinner here last night with work colleagues. This was one of the best meals I have ever eaten and I have eaten at many top quality restaurants around this US. All the courses were interesting, flavorful and most importantly delicious. I had the veal chop with lobster mashed potatoes for my main course. The veal was cooked to perfection with an intense veal reduction gravy. This was a dining experience. The wait staff was excellent. Don't plan on a quick meal here, enjoy the experience. Goodness gracious. Everything about this place was wonderful. So food. My boyfriend and I had the tasting menu with wine pairings and everything was absolutely delectable. The wine was wonderful and paired wonderfully. The food PALED in comparison to our server and the service of this place. We were seated and constantly attended to and our server folded our napkins every time we got up. She was very knowledgeable about the wine and the food. She was also very patient with the fact that we stayed almost two hours after closing. The food is wonderful. The service is wonderful. Everything is wonderful and I am in love with this place. We had a fantastic meal and a wonderful evening in the end. But we chose this restaurant based partly on the menu from their website where it says that they have a 7 course tasting menu with wine pairings on offer (we also read about the tasting menu in several online reviews). We adore tasting menus and wine pairings and were therefore very disappointed when we were seated and discovered that there was no tasting menu that evening because they were too busy. We realize that the menu online is a sample menu but usually that just means that the specific items may change, not the type of dining experience on offer. I think they should probably adjust their website to say that they sometimes offer a tasting menu so as to not disappoint future diners who arrive looking forward to this type of experience. The food was delicious. I started with the sweetbreads and my husband had the tuna tartar. Both beautiful and delicious. For the main course we both had the duck duck no goose. The duck breast was tender and juicy and the foie gras was delectable. We shared a lovely cheese plate for dessert and then very much enjoyed the individual coffee presses of rich dark coffee. The service was in general very good. It took a very very very long time (well over 10 minutes for sure) for our aperitifs (two glass of champagne) to arrive. Our waitress was very nice and was prompt after the initial delay for drinks but not as knowledgeable about the food as we would have liked. For instance, she didn't seem to know which cheese was which nor which we should start with. But in general good service. We did have a great evening and the food was incredible, making us a bit happier after our initial disappointment over the lack of a tasting menu and about the long delay for our first drinks. read more

Great service and outstanding New Years Eve menu! The preparation was sophisticated but not overly complex.

Honestly, this restaurant was a disappointment. We read many positive reviews, and heard only good things about the experience. Frankly, though, we found it unremarkable. The best part of the meal were two small "tastes" prepared by the chef: one was a cold beef slice with goat cheese and wine syrup; the other was a rose champagne sorbet. Both were lovely. For the meal, I ordered the braised lamb shank, and my date ordered the special, a roasted snapper. The lamb shank was fine, but no more than fine. It came with mashed potatoes (light, decent flavor, bordering on pasty), green beans (sauteed and slightly crunchy) and a wine sauce (quite one-note). Though it was cooked well, it was definitely not fine dining. There was no innovation of flavors, no signature flare. It was plain and completely unremarkable. You could get something as good or better in a family restaurant for half the price. The snapper was similarly disappointing. It was flavored only with salt and pepper, and the sides (corn and rice risotto, carrots) were similarly plain. The dessert, however, was the biggest disappointment. We ordered the vanilla bean creme brulee, which looked quite appealing. The caramel sauce that was served on the side and was caramelized on top, however, was scorched. No, not in the good blowtorch-with-technique manner that crystallizes the top; the sauce was burnt with an extremely bitter aftertaste; completely inedible. The chef had clearly not tasted it, and though it was comped, no comment was made about the quality. Overall, though I can't say the restaurant was horrible, I really would not recommend it. The atmosphere was nice, and the staff friendly, but the food was simply not worth the price. I think Brent B. got it perfectly when he compared it to a jazz singer performing a song but not "making it their own". The food was not a bad performance, but simply not one unique and remarkable enough to demand an encore. read more

Really trying to be cool, the people are nice, the place is funky in a 'trying to be Victorian' kinda way, with chandeliers, black curtains, and red accents to make it make it funky. The chairs are a bummer, too low, difficult to sit comfortably at the table. It tries to play in the big leagues with palate cleansers, multiple toppings for the bread, 'wilted greens', etc. The end result was good, but just didn't live up to terribly high standards. Flavors were either not that distinctive or they had too much going on. That said, the grouper very really well prepared, some of the best I've had. Total bill wasn't that expensive ($120 for two people and a few drinks) which made me feel like it was a reasonable deal. read more

Absolutely fantastic, start to finish. The 7-course tasting menu followed a beautiful progression. Wine pairings were intelligent with the exception of an Aussie Shiraz with the "Duck Duck No Goose" course. Service was polished and professional, decor was very chic, and most importantly the food was ridiculous. Tasting menu with pairing was $119/pp which is a steal for the caliber of food. If I had any complaint it would be that my "espresso" was actually a French press filled with about 3 oz of coffee and I was charged $6 for it. Everything else was perfect - one of the better tasting menus we've enjoyed, a certainly the highlight of our Savannah trip. We will definitely be back. read more

Amazing!! I was away at work for my birthday and my awesome bosses took me to this fabulous restaurant. The service was wonderful, the food was amazing and the wine was yummy! This is ONLY a review of customer service failures as we did not stay to eat. That being said I'm sure the food and quality is wonderful but they our anniversary dinner and end of vacation celebration. 2 months prior, I made the reservation and stated that I wanted the tasting menu for our dinner (just as requested on their website) website states that tasting menu "may not be available on weekends" and please request this in advance. So I would have totally been ok had, at any point between the 2 months before my reservation and before my reservation was scheduled, if someone called and said "so sorry. We're not able to accommodate your request (like I asked when I made the reservation). And then I also would have been ok if, from the night before the reservation until the time I walked in, had they returned my call from the day before reminding them that I want the tasting menu and to please call if we can't do it because I will cancel my reservation. No call.....so we arrive. Guess what. They were so sorry but company policy states that they do not do tasting menu on Saturdays. That's fine. Put that on your website. Call me back and communicate with your customers when they try to confirm this. We planned our whole day around eating at this restaurant and we were looking forward to this our whole trip. All the server could say is that she was so sorry and someone should have called me back. There was no attempt to work with us. So we decided to leave as our plans were ruined for our romantic anniversary dinner. So dissapointing. read more

Expect an experience when you dine at Noble Fare. The food, service and extra little touches were great! My girlfriend had the duck which was delicious and over flowing with flavor- by far the best duck both of us had ever tried. I ordered the evening special which was lamb braised for four hours. The meat was extremely tender but could had used just a touch of salt but overall very good. The best part of our experience was the raspberry creme brûlée. This is a hidden gem among some great Savannah restaurants. A little farther away - but still walking distance - from the riverfront but worth the extra walk. This is a small, intimate place with a limited menu - only five entree items (steak, fish, scallops, lamb and pork tenderloin) but we had four of them and all were excellent. And, they were willing to prepare the item differently for allergies and/or personal preference. read more
