Although the service was slow, the food was fair. Upon arrival we were instantly greeted and able to choose our seating outdoors. Our server was nice and attentive. The hummus plate (photos below) was delightful and they were not skimpy on the pita bread. It took quite awhile for our brunch skillets to arrive and upon their delivery, they were lukewarm. But, they were good and just needed to be nuked for a minute. My husband and I are still on the fence but maybe we caught them on a tough day. Am absolute gem! Went there last night with the misses and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Great drinks selection and their food is to die for. Took advantage of the discounted burger offer presented by our hostess (who was fantastic! It's too bad I'm so terrible at remembering names!). Added a margherita pizza to our order which was much better than I expected. The slices are light yet flavorful and the butter garlicky crust made it quite memorable. Washed it all down with several glasses from their extensive wine collection and then topped it all of with the jumbo chocolate chip cookie dessert. My boyfriend wanted to go to a sports bar; I wanted good food. And that's how we found On The Kirb! The place was really cute and had friendly employees. On Saturday, they had $4 Moscow mules. We both tried one and thoroughly enjoyed it. They use the best ingredients possible in both their drinks and their food. We snacked on the queso with homemade chips while watching the basketball games at the bar. So much better than the queso we had at a Mexican place the night before ha!! The chips had great crunch, and we both loved the consistency and flavor of the queso. We later decided to order the Cobb salad. We shared this, and it was the ideal amount for each of us. The kitchen even split it between two plates and made it so pretty. We asked for the avocado ranch dressing rather than the blue cheese one it comes with. Good choice! So good. The toppings were amazing. The bacon was cooked exactly as you'd want it to be...not too limpy but not burnt. The tomatoes added necessary acidity and sweetness. The chicken had phenomenal flavor. My boyfriend who isn't a "food snob" like me (hahah) even kept commenting on how good it was. Very impressed with this place. The photos don't even do it justice. I showed up randomly with my boyfriend who is vegan, and they had options that he was able to enjoy. He was just as impressed as I was. We ordered every course except dessert. And was impressed with the quality of the food. We went on a week night, so the ambiance was nice and not too busy. I ordered a mocktail and the server enlightened me that non alcoholic mojitos are called No-jitos and I loved that fun fact. I definitely recommend if you want a late night bite to eat. The wings were really good. Flavor and crunch were definitely there. I just wish the wings had been bigger because they were pretttty tiny. The Chicken Alfredo Pie was definitely the best thing we ordered. The pizza had A LOT of chicken on it, there wasn't one bite we took that didn't have chicken in it. The alfredo sauce was perfect: not too thick & creamy and not too overpowering. Hands down some of the best pizza I've had in a while! The pasta was just okay. There were only a few shrimp, but they were a decent size and were cooked well. I would've preferred the sauce be slightly thicker. It had a liquid consistency so it was hard to get a real taste for the dish as a whole. Prices were okay. Like I said, not much of a HH spot, so I'd they added HH bites, I'd REALLY love this place. Prices seem pretty reasonable for the choices and portions given. Our server was great also! The prices listed on the menu were old and when we realized he overcharged us for our drinks, he told us that the prices in the book were outdated but honored them anyway. He checked on us enough times without being too overbearing and was great with suggestions and customer favorites when we first ordered. Great customer service is pretty hard to come by nowadays so when I'm lucky enough to experience it, I make sure to visit the establishment often. I've heard a lot about this place from friends and seen it on Yelp quite often so finally gave it a try. This pub is definitely more modern and upscale that a regular pub. You can tell that the owner cares about the food and quality. I got the chicken tacos when I was here. They were pretty delicious and decently sized. They did have a spicy kick to them. If you are sensitive to spice, I wouldn't recommend them. The pricing is a little bit high for certain items but from the chicken tacos that I ordered, the price was justifiable. Interior was clean. Drinks (5/5): They had an all day Happy Hour, with $5 wells. Their whiskey well was JD, ftw! They had specials on beer as well, but I was too focused on drinks that night. Food (4/5): I ordered the chicken tacos myself, which was not good. Not sure if was the tortillas or the chicken or the combo of both. But I have definitely had better tacos. My friends had ordered the nachos and a Pizza, both were over their expectations, hence the higher food rating. I personally like the nachos. Check (5/5): The check came out fast and the waitress split it up correctly. This restaurant can get pricey very fast and its not casual. Dinner for me that included drinks and tacos were $22 plus tip, the pizza and the nachos were from $12-17. Stopped by for a quick drink after work. Valet or street parking are available. On the Kirb is spacious with high tables and bar seating. Happy hour is served until 6pm. I had the cocktail of the day which was an 8th wonder vodka mule. I was curious how it taste since 8th wonder is known for their beer. Our bartender was nice, attentive, and a pleasure to chat with. They have a food menu but we didn't order any this time around. The Bloody Mary caught my eye so may have to venture back just for that. They consisted of queso, guac, sour cream, jalapeños, and pico. All the toppings mixed really well with the chips and it was enough for us to share. For my entree, I ordered the Black Bean burger. It consisted of a black bean patty, avocado, queso fresco, catcus relish, ranch and added jalapenos. I honestly did not like it that much. I thought the black bean patty was very mushy and the toppings did not go well together. I probably would not order this again if I come back. Actually I would give a 3.5 star but the application won't allow me. I don't do many reviews and I want to make sure I give a balanced one here. I want to preface the experience as being a spontaneous order using Uber Eats delivery through the Postmates app. Whatever that means. Lol. Also, I live literally 5 minutes away from the restaurant and this is my first experience with "On the Kirb". I am conflicted as to whether I would order again for pickup or delivery. The order: (1) organic iced tea (2) ground beef nachos 1/2 order and (3) fish tacos (4) New York Cheesecake The Good: +fish tacos tasty; cod and jalapeno sauce +for the most part the packing was spot on and organized (more to come) +the cheesecake was gorgeous, generous portion and a pretty good value for the price at $12 +the "best nacho's in Texas" was basically a kit to put together using this nacho chips but all ingredients were present The Bad: - special requests were ignored (why add them if no one reads them?) - no extra sour cream - requested the fish tacos to be wrapped so they could actually be consumed as a taco - the fish tacos were way over priced at $14 (thank you COVID!) for small portion not matter how tasty - the nachos were way over priced at $18 (for a container of nachos $12 and dribble some cooked ground beef $6 over top) The Ugly: - no organic tea was delivered - the fish tacos were pointless because they fell apart and were cold (heated up yummy but required knife and fork) - the nachos would have been just as good if I placed a "Instacart" order at Heb grocery but I wanted a quicker delivery response Now keep in mind I paid $59.49 for the pleasure of the somewhat mediocre and spontaneous meal. However, to be fair, the food and experience would be most likely better enjoyed in person and in the restaurant "live". This part I would recommend. Came here for lunch a few weeks back and really enjoyed my meal. First, it looks like most of the parking lot is valet-only, but we managed to snag a spot near the end where we just parked ourselves. Since we were grabbing a late lunch (and it wasn't a big game day), the restaurant was largely empty. Overall, I thought the place looked very clean, well lit, and had a really nice ambiance. Our server was nice and took good care of us throughout our meal. I ended up getting the fish tacos and they were really darn good - very tasty and fresh! My wife got a burger of some kind (may have been the Kirb's Sunrise?) and also enjoyed it. Overall, I would definitely come back here and would love to catch a fight / game. I'm not sure how the atmosphere would change if it was super busy, though, so I may have to go investigate and find out :) read more

Went to meet up with a friend for drinks. He ordered the nachos and it was plentiful to share. He also had a Chardonnay wine and I had the old fashioned. The old fashion was the only drink without a price on the menu. Turns out it was about $15. Idk why it wasn't listed tho. We still enjoyed the drinks and the nachos were pretty decent.
