My favorite thing from ono is their island white fish and I was super excited to have it for dinner. I ordered the aloha plate with two items, chicken katsu and island white fish. When I got my order (via doordash), It came with just one tiny piece of fish. When I order I typically get two pieces of fish and a good portion of whatever else I choose. A bit disappointed at how bad the portion sizes are. The plate is mainly rice and salad with a side of protein. Came here because I was craving short ribs and it's the only near by place that have it. We got the kalbi rib, a number one (bbq chicken) and a mixed combo. It seem expensive for what we paid for $36. First, the rice was very soggy. Second,the meat on the kalbi was mostly fat with very little meat (see photo). Theres only 3 piece of short ribs in the combo for almost $12, the rest was soggy rice and veggie. The chicken combo also have so much fat in it, not clean properly. Third, portion was ridiculous for what they are charging. The only plus side is fast service and easy parking. read more

I'm dissapointed I can't give a negative score. If you plan to eat here, expect your "boneless chicken" to have surprise sharp and jagged bone fragments hidden inside! I visited this location after raving to my girlfriend for months about how great the food was. I ordered us each a combination plate and I personally got beef, chicken katsu and teriyaki chicken I was happily eating everything until I bit into a sharp piece of bone. The bone split in my mouth and legitimately might have killed me if I had swallowed it because of how sharp and jagged the bone fragments were. Needless to say our appetites subsided, but not because we had eaten our fill. After bringing this to the manager on duty's attention(I don't have his name but he was a hispanic gentleman who seemed to work in the kitchen) he assured me that I could come back for a free meal and that I didn't need my receipt since he would keep my name on a note in the back. I called in tonight asking if it would be okay to come in today and grab the replacement combination I was promised. I was told by the female on the phone that she and no one she spoke to had any recollection of that experience. I was told that I would need a receipt for her to replace my meal. I was told there is nothing she can do without a receipt. If this happens to you DEMAND a refund, take photos, and call the health department. I am appalled to have such a negative experience, be promised future compensation and then be turned away when I ask for it. The management should be ashamed of such dirty practices. read more

The food is usually good at Ono, but today the Katsu seemed burnt but was underdone as well. I ended up with stomach pains and diarrhea shortly after. Also, the management should really look into the air conditioning. It's hotter in the restaurant than outside and we just made it through a heat wave.. i can't imagine what it was like for them last week. I went to this location a few months ago and the AC situation was the same. How can you make your employees work in a kitchen in a non air conditioned restaurant? The heat in the dining area was unbearable as well, not a good way to keep customers. I ordered a fiery chicken mini meal today and got a bite out of their prep tape. I called the store and the manager refused to speak to me until I began asking for corporate's number. The person I was speaking with initially told me the only thing the manager could do was give me a new plate. I let her know I didn't want to eat there if they were putting tape in their food. She responded with "it was just an accident" with a rude tone. I told her I wanted to speak to the manager because I didn't want to be rude to her and I didn't want her to be the middle man. She put me on hold and repeated that she would only be able to replace the plate. I then asked her for corporate's number and that's when the manager finally decided to speak to me. When I began explaining what happened she cut me off and said she had already given me two options: to receive a refund or replace the plate and I had refused both and she couldn't do anything else. I informed her that I was only given the choice to receive a new plate. I asked for corporate's number again because both ladies sounded annoyed and like I was being an inconvenience for them. Well I'm sorry but I'm annoyed and inconvenienced that I just bit into prep tape! Literally zero empathy I didn't even receive an apology from either ladies. Anyways, the manager said that they didn't have corporate's number available and that she could only give me her district manager's phone number. I called the number but no one answered. This review is coming from someone who worked at Chipotle for 2 years and did prep. The level of negligence that happens in the back of house at this place shows just by having this in my food. Came on a Wednesday, deliberately waiting until after 11:30. Order was ready about 10 minutes. Food delicious, rice (actual short grain rice!) was fresh, tasted great, mac salad was okay when you're used to home made. Hubby loved his bbq platter. I never leave here disappointed especially when I'm craving well cooked and glazed BBQ Hawaiian chicken. I usually get the lunch plate which comes with rice and macaroni salad but haven't ventured too far off the menu since I know what I like. I did try their Katsura chicken once and it has a slightly different taste and texture compared to regular BBQ but not by much.
