I stop by this place on the way out to Beaumont from Glendora sometimes. We go here and eat to let the traffic die down during rush hour. We usually get the family dinner. You get 3 choices of meat and we usually get the Katsu Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken and the BBQ Beef. It comes with enough rice and macaroni salad to serve 4. The price for the family dinner is around 34 dollars. I think for me the price is a little high. However I do like the food. Sometimes the beef can be on the gristly side though. We usually call in advance and do not eat there. The last time we went to this location we called on the phone 15 minutes before arriving and when we got there the food was ready. When I have eaten there in the past the wait is a little long for the food. On a side not I want to say that I do not like it when management does not respond to negative experiences and reviews on Yelp. I have noticed that some of the reviews for this establishment were bad and the management does not even bother to respond in an attempt to apologize for the bad experience. Ono used to be my to-go spot of Hawaiian BBQ a few years back. However, when I came back to this place last weekend. My opinion about this place totally changed... Their prices increased while their portions shrank?! First of all, the wait was ridiculously. 30minutes + for just 2 orders?! Come on nowwww. I had the Chicken combo, the chicken katsu was very fried and very hard. Lots of batter and not much chicken.. The BBQ chicken was alright, again the same problem. The slice of meat was pretty thin. My boyfriend ordered different combo with Kalbi and other beef things. The beef was greasy but marinated decently. Overall, Ono disappointed me. Stopped here to accompany my Mom, who wanted an order of the Chicken Teriyaki. This is a counter service casual eatery in the middle of a strip mall which seemed rather popular for the area considering the long line on a weekday afternoon. They serve "Hawaiian food," which some might recognize as Asian-inspired food such as teriyaki chicken, chicken katsu, spam musubi, kalbi, and crispy shrimp. I did taste a bit of the teriyaki chicken and found it to be mediocre and uninspired. The chicken was neither juicy nor terribly dry and while the calories listed made it clear the chicken had quite a bit of seasoning on it, it was also slightly underseasoned. I really appreciated that they had a sheet which listed complete nutrition information for all the food served here. I don't think I will recommend this business to other people, customer service is so bad they don't keep their promise to the customer, me and my wife order a seafood mix on the phone and I asked the cashier how many minutes so we can pick it up, the cashier said 15minutes so i told her that's fine, when I reach their place I went directly to the cashier that I talk to on the phone and paid my order, after 10minutes waiting for my food other people show up and order their food but to my surprise the people behind me got their food first, so being a very patient person I'd waited another 10minutes and while waiting for my food another customer came and order their food, but again to my surprise the customer who came late got their food before mine and my food was not done yet and this time me and my wife are getting hungry so I ask the cashier on what happen to my order and I told her I'm been waiting for 35minutes and my food is not ready and I reminded her that she promised me that my food will be ready for pick up for 15minutes but 35 and almost 40minutes past my food still not cook or ready so I told the cashier forget it and cancelled my order and just refund me, but before we left I told her if they promised the customer the pick up time is 15minutes they need to keep their promise so the customer will be happy and will come back. read more

I've been here quite a number I times with my family. The dishes are quite large, unless you order the mini meal. If you've been to other hawaiian BBQ places, such as L&L, They're pretty much the same. Usually when I come here I get either the Hawaiian BBQ mix or the BBQ chicken combo. You get two BBQ Chicken (thighs, i think), about a serving of BBQ beef, and one kalbi short rib. The BBQ beef is not that great in my opinion. The short rib is delicious, and the thighs are also very good. Their combination plates also come with some cabbage, a scoop of rice, and macaroni salad (very very tasty). The combination plates are reasonably price (~$7) and you get a HUGE amount of food for what you pay. i always leave this place feeling very full and satisfied. read more

Their BBQ Chicken is really well cooked,pair that with all you can add Teriyaki sauce and it makes for a perfect meal. Their portions are great but I usually stick to the mini meals; they're a good size,not too much to make you sluggish but just enough to get you full. Also, try the Macaroni Salad,it's delicious! These two stars are just for the Katsu Chicken. I give two stars because there was at least a thin layer of chicken in most of the pieces. Although it was very dry. The food here is delicious, however unless you want to be waiting 15 minutes, be sure to call in and order your food in advance. I pre ordered, on the day of our party I went to pick up our order... it wasn't ready!!! alexandria said their power was out, but when I was there the power was on! I don't eat a lot of Hawaiian BBQ, but this one was #1 for its type for me! This isn't fast food! I waited about 5 minutes for my food, which they didn't start cooking until I ordered it. Not a bad wait really. I'm sure it would take longer if there had been more customers ahead of us, but everyone else had already gotten their meals. They had quite a few customers for a Wed night, too. The place isn't too large, and there's outdoor seating. I ordered the chicken combo (can't remember the exact name, but it wasn't the katsu), combo #1. Comes with the chicken, steamed rice and macaroni salad. Just under 7 bucks. Chicken "strips" were very flavorful, I mixed it with the rice and their hot sauce for a nice combo. Steamed rice - can't go wrong. Macaroni salad isn't overpowered with the mayonnaisey taste like other Hawaiian BBQ joints (and I don't like mayonnaise!) I actually really like this stuff. Can't comment on the service because I didn't need them for anything other than the actual order, which was quick and easy. Good prices and good food. read more

If it's your first time and you want to be on the safe side, try the bbq chicken. Adventurous...try the chicken curry or the loco moco. I definitely recommend just getting the regular bbq chicken and not the chicken katsu. The katsu was really dry and it felt like I was eating more bread than chicken. Worst customer service . I ordered through the phone for a pick up . All was well until my husband went to pick up the order . We were told ok the phone our food would be ready in 15 -20 minutes. Was told by a young man answering the phones , working as cashier I'm assuming. When my husband got there the good hadn't even been sent to the kitchen . A female told him sorry we're just you know "busy" so he pays for the food & sits down for about 10 min. They did not even give him the drink we paid for . He arrives home and No drink . We live 20 min away . This is the closet location and mind you he had to wait . I called and asked to speak to a manager or supervisor (the young male answer agin ) he puts me on hold . Picks up the phone again then ask me " so why do you need a manger " I explain why and he says well then he should have asked for it . I told him I no longer want to speak with him nor did I want to speak to him in the first place & that he needed to put me on the phone with a manger , supervisor or lead . He then chuckled and said well I'm putting you on hold . I was hold for about 3 min . I want my money back for the drink . All I wanted was at least store credit since it's too far of a drive just for a drink I work close by and could have stopped by for that drink I paid for & some food but I will never return to this location . Love the food but bothered by the service! I'm not going to call anyone out but there is a girl behind the counter that is very unfriendly. Either she has resting bitch face or she's miserable but she is unpleasant every time I visit. My worst experience with her was when they had a guest that ordered and then went outside to sit on the patio. There order came up and she refused to go tell them there order was ready OR take them their food. She just kept calling out the number, even the other cashier commented to her and she did nothing except say "I'm not going out there." It's literally 15 steps lol So sitting there with my kids I felt bad so I got up and told the people outside that there food was ready.
