Found this little gem of a place on Yelp, we were looking for a restaurant to take our friend for his 60th birthday & Panvimarn checked all the boxes for what I look for in dining. The experience was everything I hoped it would be as this was a special celebration & we wanted our friend to enjoy this day! The atmosphere with its background music was perfect, service was wonderful, the staff was very friendly and went above our expectations. The food was authentic & very good, we ordered a lot of different dishes & shared everything, everybody at the table was more than satisfied with every dish. The price for this quality of food, service & atmosphere was amazing! I have paid a lot more for far less quality, very happy, satisfied customers! BEST THAI I HAVE EVER HAD! We went on my birthday then we went the next day also. The taste of the food is so fresh you cannot go wrong! I had the Beef salad-it is refreshing! The staff is very attentive and are about the restaurant. The decor is out of this world and you wouldn not expect the place to be so decorative and fancy. It is so close to our home we are thrilled! The platter of appetizers was super tasty too. I love the curry-we had red curry and itw as layered with flavors in each bite. My son years old loved the satay both the chicken and beef. The Thai tea was wonderful and I do love my tea! BBQ Rib and Chicken (lunch menu) so tasty) and my husband loved the prik king- he said it was the best he has ever had and the spice was perfect! Spring rolls were very good. The lunch specials include a salad and rice and are affordable-there are only four choices I think though. Been to this place about 4-5 times now. The ambiance is great, service is attentive and food is outstanding for the price! Especially loved the Mango Fish salad, which in reality not really a salad, but breaded fish, very tasty. Pad Thai was also very good for my taste, as was the Won Tong soup. Went here a few weeks ago with the husband and kids. It was a hit all around. My husband ordered the "hot stuff" which for him it wasn't crazy hot, maybe could have been a little more spicy, but really enjoyed it. I had the Pad Thai which was fabulous. We ordered for the girls something with chicken and veggies and flat noodles. I asked for the sauce on the side but there was confusion with this request all around. In the end, the girls really enjoyed it. For an appetizer we ordered the beef satay. This meat was so tender and tasty. The bill came to about $40 (without drinks) which is pretty good for our family. The place was extremely clean and the service was great. Our waters where constantly refilled which I like. When this restaurant opened, I ordered take-out. I thought it was okay and did not think about going back there. A few months later, my son insisted to give it another chance, so I went. The place was packed around 7 on weekday night. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. We sat at the counter and had a dinner. We ordered spicy rib-eye stake salad, one curry dish and pad thai. Food tasted much better than the last time from takeout. Wine selection was good too. After that, I took my husband one night, and he became a fan of Panvimarn. Now, he gets craving for Panvimarn's Thai, so we go there quite often. Food and service have been very consistent. I think this place is as good as it gets. read more

This is one of the best Thai restaurants I've been in Longbeach/Lakewood. Most everything on the menu is consistently good and delicious. The only dish that is a hit or miss would be the curry dishes. The ambiance and the service is great. The only thing that this restaurant can improve on is to stock up on their condiments (chili sauce, chilies, etc) so that each table can have its own set of condiments during their entire dining experience instead of having it shared among serveral tables. read more

A diamond in the rough! This place has the most interesting Thai flavors. I've heard that their cooking isn't authentic, but it's pretty darn good to me. The money bag a great appetizer to start with if you're lucky enough to get it before it runs out and their curry is rich in flavor. The food here is outstanding. And the restaurant decor is simply beautiful. When I went, they were having AC issues in the upstairs eating area. So we asked to be seated on the first floor. That was the biggest bummer. Since the 2nd floor truly offers a unique dining experience. But aside from that inconvenience. Everything else was quite excellent. The waiter was very attentive. ok..we moved from the San Francisco area about a month ago. I was worried that we would not be able to find a good Thai restaurant ( the bay area has a myriad of excellent thai places)....thank God we were wrong! We read about this place on YELP and decided to give it a try. We were greeted and seated the moment we walked in. The ambiance is wonderful..a great place for a date. (ps..yes, my hubby and I still date..lol) Still in our mind we were wondering...ok, great ambiance, but is the food good? I got the Thai Tea to drink and it was mmm mmm good! ,,,not too sweet...we ordered the money bags appetizer and it was crunchy and delicous. The waitress suggested it and we were so happy she did. Hubby ordered the Golden Curry extra spicy, and I thought he was gonna lick the bowl. I had the soft shell crab fried rice and another soft crab dish that was outstanding. Needless to say there were no leftovers. We tried it again tonight and were not dissapointed! We ordered takeout...Golden Curry again...spciy beef salad, Panvimarm ribs, flaming BBQ Chicken, Pad Thai Special , and Panvimarm fried rice w/ snow crab. (( no we did not eat all of that ..we had company over..lol)..each and every dish was cooked to perfection! We are now addicted to this place! Wow..all I can say. Heard a lot about this place and gave it a try. Can't miss it if you're driving down Carson st. But as soon as I walked inside, I thought it was a fancy, expensive restaurant. The inside is really nice, even has a 2nd floor for extra dining. Modern looking with Thai accents. But what impressed me the most was the food. I had Nutty Chicken and Beef Panang and by far the best tasting among the Thai restaurants around here (excluding some restaurants in Thai town). And the price was very decent. You would expect to be paying more because of the way the restaurant is decorated. Customer service was great as well. I recommend this to anyone and to me, in my opinion, is a great place to take a your date to for great Thai food. read more

Hands down one of my most favorite Thai food place. Although, they're not your average mom and pop Thai place. The food doesn't taste like any other Thai places you would normally go to. You'd expect it to be one of those hip, trendy places people go to in LA, but it's reasonably priced and in a not so hip, trendy location. My FAVORITE Thai restaurant in CA so far! My friend introduced me to this restaurant and we got all our family members going here regularly now. We even had our wedding rehearsal dinner here and catered some of the dish for my bridal shower. We reserved the whole upstairs for around 40 ppl. This place has nice decor. It's fancy but not too fancy. More important than the decor ALL the dish I tried were so delicious! Usually I'm the type of person who sticks to one or two dish kind of since I'm afraid I'm not going to like the new dish I try, but I trust Panvimarn's cooking. We have family style every time we go and order a variety of dish and we all share. In addition, the manager is great! He's super accomodating and polite. He helped us a lot in picking the dish for the rehearsal dinner. The only cons are the wait for your food can take awhile when they're busy (once it was because the head chef wasn't there and there was a new waiter) and it can be kind of noisy since it's a small space. Also, I know darker lighting creates ambience but personally I like it to be a bit brighter. These cons will not stop us from coming back though. Too bad we don't live close by anymore. =( read more

My husband works in Monterey Park which has Thai food on just about every corner. He is NEVER in the mood for Thai food when he's home. One night I BEGGED him to go to the "new" place that always has a wait. Bottom line is, he said it was the best Thai food he's ever had! Now THAT is saying something. I had been here with a girlfriend before. The wait isn't that long. 20 minutes maybe. The atmosphere is swanky casual. Is there such a thing? The tables are pretty tight. Don't expect to have a quiet chat. Now the food....the FOOD! I looooove the Spicy Shrimp Curry. I ask for it mild because I am a wimp. I'm assuming for those who like it hot to order it as-is. I CRAVE this dish. If they ever stop making it I'll cry. My husband got the Filet Panang. It is some serious filet. I couldn't believe this was Thai food. We also started with an appetizer called "Moneybag." Cute, clever and yummy. Recently we picked up some takeout on our way home from the airport and brought some home for my sister and her boyfriend who are vegans. They got the Madame Ruby Curry and loved it. Beer and wine list is impressive as well. Can't miss. And now my husband never says no when I suggest Thai food on his day off! P.S. This is by far my favorite Thai restaurant. The panvimarn special pad thai is the best pad thai that i've ever had. It would definitely be included in my death bed meal :) and the panvimarn special soup is a must order. I would however, skip any dish that has the spicy lime dressing. My first try of this place was unimpressive, but after returning a year later I was so impressed I went back the next day and ordered take out. It took them a while to work out the kinks, but if you have ever passed by and saw huge crowd waiting outside, well its for a darn good reason. I've lost count on how many times I visited Panvimarn Thai. I've tried several items from their menu, and dessert menu . Nothing compares to the mango and sticky rice dessert - it's my favorite !! Tom Yum Gai soup is always a go to for my wife and I. We tried the spicy jungle noodles for the first time this week. It was one of the best plates I remember eating from any restaurant in a long time. This place is getting busier and busier because the food is great. They have a good wine list too.
