My boyfriend came here and got his mother and I each this amazing cake. I don't know what it is called but it was the perfect cake. I am not one to ever choose a chocolate cake but it was delicious. It was looked like a chocolate ganache, with chocolate mousse cream filling with a hint of Orange Grand Marnier. And the chocolate sponge cake was so moist. I told him I only want this cake for my birthday every year. It is the perfect amount of sweetness and not overly sweet.

    So many choices

Very friendly and warm atmosphere. The cream puff and tart were delightful not heavy. Definitely delicious.

    Burnt base of carrot cake

Went here at 4:30pm on a Saturday to pick up a couple of treats... and unfortunately I don't have good to report. Everything was dry, like it was days old. You can see that all of the moisture is sucked out of the pineapple. The cheesecake had virtually no flavor and was hard. While the carrot cake managed to keep some of its moisture with the frosting, the base was a bit burnt. Perhaps better if fresh, but I won't chance it.

Amazing! Very Rich, moist and delicious. I came to grab a "too good to go" item- I saw they had non dairy cakes and had to get one. This will be my go to for non dairy cakes now. Family loved it.

Was craving macarons one day and found this gem near my apt. A lovely bakery that has an assortment of French pastries. I've only ever came here to buy macarons and cakes, but will definitely be returning to try their other selections. The macarons are a solid 4/5 stars. The cookie itself is baked correctly and had the perfect texture between the slight crunch of the shell and gooeyness from the filling. Most macarons here are also balanced in terms of sweetness, which I highly appreciate. So far, I've tried the following flavors: salted caramel, passionfruit, raspberry, earl gray, and green tea. My favorite go-to flavors are the salted caramel and passionfruit. The former has a great balance of the sweet caramel with the savoriness of the salt. The latter had a good mix of sweet and tart from the passionfruit. I've also had their fruit tart and cakes. The fruit tart was not baked on top of a classic tart shell, but on puff pastry. This added a sense of indulgence that a fruit tart sometimes lacks. In terms of the custard, fruit, and puff pastry, all elements were baked correctly and flavored well. The only thing about the puff is that the custard and fruit juices sitting on top tend to make the crust soggy - this eliminates an otherwise flakey pastry and makes it harder to slice/pull apart. There's a reason to why fruit tarts are typically baked with a tart shell as opposed to puff. The price of the pastries are very reasonable, and the service here is phenomenal. They are always kind and welcoming. They don't label all the different selection of sliced cakes they have, so I've had to ask a lot about what was inside, what the cake was called, etc., and they have always been patient with me. I will definitely be a frequent customer.

Fruit tart and crust that we tried to eat, but couldn't.

I got a DM from someone from the bakery explaining the tart has a chocolate layer underneath it (I double checked just now, and they are right! I apologize for the misinformation). I still think the crust tastes burnt though, and was quite hard to eat with metal forks when we ordered. THAT BEING SAID, apparently I need to order the "puff pastry fruit tart" next time--which we will try to do. I think with the change there might have been a change in terminology, which is what led to the confusion (though when I did ask about the croissant like crust before, the person there seemed to not know what I was talking about, and made it seem like they don't make it anymore, which was a little confusing). Changing to a 4 star review because I SUPER appreciated the quiet response through a back channel on yelp, and the clarification. So nice to get a real and kind response. That's worth a lot for us. We will try again next time. Thanks Paris pastry!

    The mocha cake

Sadly, the special birthday cake I ordered was not fresh at all. The cake/bread was stale. The whipped topping was hard. And it tasted spoiled. The birthday cake writing turned out to be just a plastic sign that ripped half the topping off the cake. Which didn't matter, since the topping didn't taste great either. I spent $50 almost and I wish I would have just gone to Ralph's. The mocha cake was what I ordered and it honestly Ruined the birthday cake portion of the night. Wonderful customer service, just not fresh cake being sold to the customers. It tasted 3-4 days old.

Croquembouche from Paris Bakery. Zoom in to bottom right to see broken base. It was broken before I even arrived to pick it up.

There are a few tables if you'd like to enjoy your food there, but we decided to get everything to go. The staff told us the pastries could stay out of the refrigerator for up to an hour, so we were worried the cakes might melt on the way home. Thankfully, they stayed in perfect condition. We especially loved the croissants. They were incredibly flavorful and surprisingly large, so I'd recommend getting a few different flavors to share. My favorites were the almond and Parisian croissants. They gave some free macarons at the end!

Background On Visit: I was primarily going to RWT (Pokemon Card Shop) Collective on the second floor of the plaza, Something about the line and a average of 5 stars on their yelp page made me want to patronize the shop. So I did. Credit Cards: They're accepted. Restroom: Didn't see a restroom. :) Wait Time: Can be long. Luckily, I didn't wait long when I patronized the shop. Location/Parking: Located in a plaza on the NW corner of Sawtelle Blvd. and W. Olympic. There's a couple of shared 15 minute parking spots in the parking lot, paid parking structure, or meter parking along Olympic, Sawtelle, or surrounding streets. I did find a secret place with free 2 hour parking on the NE corner of Purdue Ave. and Olympic Blvd.. :) Ambiance/Decor: Neat ambiance with a few modern furnishings to sit, eat, and enjoy ones company. Service: Service was great! Tera (staffer) was very nice, attentive, offered great suggestions, and was quite informative about the shop. She also informed me that I was able to get two complimentary macarons. Patisserie Of Choice: 1) Blossom: Consisted of vanilla mousse, pistachio/red berries insert, pistachio crunch, and pistachio sponge. It was too pretty to eat, but I ate it anyways. So good and soo yum! 2) Roche: Consisted of hazelnut mousse, house made praline combined with soft caramel, hazelnut sponge. Taste like a Ferrer Rocher! It's very dense and sweet, but great to eat. Not something I'll have all the time. Macarons Of Choice : I got the Cookies and Cream and pistacio. They were both good. Artelice Patisserie For Thought: Wouldn't mind coming back. I'm coming for you almond croissant.

Where do I even begin with the magic of this place?!…read more This has become one of my absolute favorite spots and every single time I go, I end up finding something new to obsess over. The Paris Roma sandwich is chef's kiss. The bread is the perfect mix of soft on the inside while still being beautifully toasted. The tomatoes and cheese taste incredibly fresh, and whatever magical spread they put on it... I need the recipe because WOW. This is a refreshing sandwich! The Sea-trus salad is another favorite. It somehow manages to be light, refreshing, and still filling. The lox and veggies are unbelievably fresh and everything just works together perfectly. Love the lightness of the dressing. This will not disappoint! If I'm in the mood for something a little heartier, I go for the tomato soup and half truffle grilled cheese. I LOVE this combo. The truffle flavor is spot on and not overpowering at all. Comfort food done right. Now for the best part... dessert (my personal weakness). The canelés are my obsession. I actually buy multiple little bags of the mini ones to have with my morning coffee. They remind me of the perfect cross between crème brûlée and French toast. Crispy outside, soft center, absolute perfection. The St. Honoré is a little pricier, but worth every penny and I usually order more than one. The cream is light with a subtle vanilla flavor and those little pastry puffs on top are pure magic. This is more of an elegant, delicate dessert rather than something rich and intense. And then... yesterday I tried a chocolate dessert for the first time and I wish I remembered the name because I have not stopped thinking about it. It was a chilled circular chocolate mousse covered in chocolate with hazelnut and it was honestly PERFECTION. I don't even know how to describe it properly. Rich, smooth, balanced... I had it with coffee and it was one of those desserts you immediately plan on ordering again before you've even finished it. This is more of a rich dessert! Beyond the food, the owner and staff are incredible. They are warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely make this place feel special. You can tell they care deeply about the experience, not just the food, and it shows in everything they do. Amazing food, amazing people, and somehow every visit makes me love this place even more. :D
