We love this fine dine-in restaurant in shoreline... nice ambience over looking pacific ocean with an awesome view on sunset, food are always fresh and delicious, the staff in particular the servers are naturally nice and friendly. The fried calamari and lobster taquitos are the best appetizer we enjoy the most. If you're looking for good seafood the pan seared mahi mahi is delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who's looking for a nice intimate family get together, birthday celebrations or simply have a nice glass of merlot with my husband after a long day at work! read more

My girlfriends and I came here for my bachelorette dinner this past weekend. At Shoreline Village the parking is kind of bleh, although this is to be expected in most beach cities especially on a Saturday night. The restaurant also validates parking so be sure to bring in your stub. Our table in the restaurant was amazing...easily the best table in the restaurant next to being outside. We had a wonderful view of the harbor and could see the Queen Mary. The menu has a lot of options, although being a harbor side you should probably go with a seafood dish. But me being a carnivore by nature could not resist a medium rare filet mignon with a side of steam veggies. My friend ordered a peach bellini which pretty much tasted like a momosa, but it was really really good, one of the better (and more elegant) mixed drinks I've had. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed their entrees and of course to celebrate we ordered some dessert! We ordered my favorite, creme brulee and a molten chocolate cake. The creme brulee was incredible...the custard was perfect (as some restaurants make it kind of runny) and was evenly torched on top. And just being a chocolate lover, the molten cake was to die for (not to mention it was a la mode!). I'm only giving Parker's Lighthouse 4 stars because the waitress could have been a little more attentive. It took a second time for the waitress to remember the peach bellini and we would have to ask for refills. But this was a minor annoyance at best. read more

Beautiful view, yummy food and the expensive price to match. I usually get the Parker's sampler and a salad and usually share it. I heard the clam chowder is good and they even serve sushi. But one warning, do not try the gumbo- it a chili looking chunky salt stew- I tried to like it but too bad- it was not happening. I recently had a reunion honoring my professor and they were accommodating with our ordering, number of people and having our cake ready on cue. To start, this restaurant has a gorgeous view of the bay, the Queen Mary, and the Lighthouse. Booked a reservation for sunset and everything looked just perfect! There are 3 floors. Not sure what the 2nd floor is, but the 3rd is the Queensview Restaurant-- a separate and more upscale entity. We dined on the 1st floor, which still had a pretty classy yet casual feel. On the 1st floor, there's also a bar area with TV's, outdoor seating, and these interesting little tables that are curtained off from the rest of the dining. In terms of service, while the rest of the staff was attentive, our waiter had a few flukes (no butter for rolls, no sauce for seafood tower, told us the seafood tower would be enough for two for dinner... def not the case). Nothing major, but worth noting. We ordered: -Clam Chowder - standard, and by standard I do mean delicious, not extraordinary, but indeed delicious -Seafood Tower - iced oysters (3), crab (4 pieces), shrimp (4), and lobster (4 pieces); shrimp and lobster were pretty good, the pink pieces of crab meat were delish but the white meat pieces (the ones that join the legs to the body) were just okay, I'm not an oyster fan so the bf reported that 1 of the 3 oysters was really tasty but the others were just aiight; was a little disappointed b/c of the price paid (portions seemed a bit small, and none of the seafood blew us away) -Crab Cake - above average crab cake, but again not amazing Overall a decent experience. I dined here with a party of 10 for Mother's Day brunch and we all had such an enjoyable experience. Our server was scrambling to refill our unlimited mimosas and coffee, but he did so pleasantly and always with a smile. Parkers' only serves brunch two days a year - Mother's Day and Easter, and I highly recommend you come and make reservations far in advance! They had almost everything you could ask for in a brunch buffet - fresh shucked oysters (big and meaty - not the dinky kinds), sushi, jumbo cocktail shrimp, waffle bar, butcher station, huge array of breakfast baked goods and pastries, and so much more! My boyfriend and I came for a late lunch here. We absolutely loved it! it was the day before his birthday (he's a new years baby!) so he got the lobster tail and steak. i got the salmon burger. Both meals tasted amazing! we also booked our reservation through Open Table who gave us a free appetizer from booking through them which was nice! We ended up getting the calamari which we both loved! The food was definitely more than enough and eating around 2pm, we were full for the rest of the day! The view from the deck was beautiful even though it was raining. The patio is covered and heated well so we were very comfortable sitting outside. Our waiter was very kind and attentive to our needs. mmm...well i HEARD the steak was very good, but i cant rate on hearsay....i went there with a group for a post graduation dinner. Our table was long, but it was situated in what looked like a hallway. I had never been before, but seriously, we were on like the second lever, on the walkway towards the restroom. W.T.F. then i didnt really know what i wanted, so i ordered this like fry all thing came with fish, chicken, etc. - all fried..but i guess they fried it. I had to cleanse my system with 4 glasses of lemon water to make myself feel normal again.. so the food was ok, my fault for getting something fried - ill admit to that. service was ok...just our location wasnt pleasing. ii did try the salmon and IF i ever go there again, ill be sure to get that. anyways, everything was average for me, so i gave it an average rating, but ill leave room for change, in case i return. read more

Nice place to chill during lunch time, I've been here a few times during lunch hours and the view is amazing, especially on a sunny day. I had their Shrimp Scampi Pasta, Seafood Linguini and Fish and Chips and they are all pretty good. Recommend to make reservation and ask to seat close to the window area. On my sweet man's birthday, usually reliable Parker's was seriously meh! It's something of a ritual for the man to order a steak to mark the big day--the 10 oz. top sirloin was a bit stringy and not too flavorful. My crabcakes seemed mushy (not enough crab?). Service was California brisk, view the usual amazing, but this was definitely a low impact experience. We didn't linger... We went back on July 18th, mainly because we were celebrating a friend's b'day and the outdoor patio has been a fabulous place to kick back on a warm summer evening. Again, great setting, seriously mediocre food and service (the meal was 6 days ago, but I can't quite recall what I had--Parker's Salad and ???). I came here for my mother's birthday dinner on a sunday night where we were promptly seated on the first floor with a great view of the queen mary and the rest of long beach. The ambiance was quiet, cold and a bit too dark. If you were a vampire it'd be great. We started with the steamers which were fantastic. I'm not a big fan of shelled creatures but the combination of the sauce and the clam meat was very juicy and flavorful; a definite plus. I ordered the Mariner combo which included a grilled fish filet (not sure which) and a skewer with shrimp, scallops, and mushrooms. I found that the mushrooms and scallops were fantastic but they shrimp was a bit tough and not up to par with the rest of the skewer. The fish filet was nothing special and tasted kind of cheap, not much else to say about it. However, the biggest thing about the meal that stuck out in my mind was the plating of all the dishes. If you're charging over 20 bucks per dish for some pretty average seafood, you can at least plate your dishes better. Everything looked like it was just thrown together with no care for presentation, I swear I've seen better at Sizzler. The biggest no-no was the plate that they served their cheesecake on. The dish was childishly colorful and truly stuck out like a sore thumb, it almost ruined the deliciousness of their new york cheesecake. Overall, the food was okay, the view was great, the ambiance was pretty up-tight, and the presentation was awful. If I'm going to spend $30/person (or $50 with wine, dessert and coffee), I'd probably go somewhere else. read more

I'm surprised at the negative reviews for this place! I've been here twice - had drinks, sushi, clam chowder soup, and artichoke and spinach dip. The view is awesome, the decor is really nice - beautiful wood and romantic lighting. The food was good - and at a very reasonable price! The first time was even better since we were there during happy hour and had 2 for 1 drinks! Hmmmm, I'm genuinely surprised at the negative reviews. The only negative thing is that the service can be blotchy. I came already several times, but more for the atmosphere than for the food. I find that the price does not justify the quality of the food, it is Ok, but somehow I expected a little bit more, especially on the Sushi. And don't even ask if they can make you something different, because they can't just what's on the menu. if you are HOT for Sushi I would recommend a real Sushi place. I made reservations and I was still asked to wait (15 minutes). They restaurant seemed pretty empty so I don't know why. I also requested a table on the 3rd floor but I guess they were closed. There website says they have live music on Friday's and Saturday's but they didn't when i went. You can say the view made up for it but the prices are EXPENSIVE for mediocre food. It was a group of 4 people and we ended up paying $170!!! I was disappointed at the pricing and quality of food. They offer validated parking for the first two hours and I happened to be there for 2.5 and I still had to pay $8.00. I will not go back again and would not recommend this place unless you want to pay for a nice view. Next time I will go to the YardHouse Instead. read more

This is a review of the new Queensview Steakhouse on the third floor...not the main Parkers' Lighthouse restaurant below it. I received an invitation earlier in the week to attend the 'rehearsal dinner' for the new restaurant on Thursday night, so along with 5 friends also invited we decided to go as a party of six and grab a bigger table together. First our reservations were moved 45 minutes back (we received a call to let us know, but still annoying). Understanding that it's the soft open, so it didn't bother me. Upon entering we were escorted up to the third floor. The room is beautiful and open, windows on all sides, gorgeous bar and visible kitchen line. Live jazz had just begun (but ended at 9:30? really?) and the lights were low. Decor was classic and lived up to the steakhouse/supper club feel. The only thing that didn't make sense to me was the odd art/deco blue and orangey paint job on the ceiling...out of place for a fine dining joint. We grabbed a drink at the bar first before sitting down- barstaff was quick and attentive as well as knowledgable on their (presumably new) wine list. I was recommended and given an excellent Chardonnay. The 'signature' cocktail with Vodka/rosemary was actually very refreshing as well. Once seated the server introduced himself and began taking orders. We were unfamiliar with the menu and needed some further explanation which he was able to do without a problem. The bread comes around and you select a roll of your choice- some great options to choose from but ultimately became annoying as after your roll is gone in thirty seconds and you want another...you need to wait or try and flag him down for something else. For our table this took almost the entire course of the meal just to get more bread. Can't they leave a small assortment in a basket on the table? Appetizers were good. Shrimp cocktail is...well, just what you think it is. Decorative greens with a glaze underneath the shrimp were also very good. Comes with five or so to an order. We also ordered some of the house french fries with their garlic aioli. Good, not amazing, but tasty. Two of us ordered a salad with apple and walnuts in it and were pleased. Issue one- Entrees took forever. We were seated by 8:30 and ordered promptly- I didn't receive my strip steak until 10 at the earliest...no updates from server, nothing. Issue two- Steak was overcooked. Ordered medium rare and received medium well. As this was a rehearsal dinner (and took 90 min for food) I just ate it, but I wasn't the only one with an overcooked steak...at a steakhouse. Downstairs at Parkers' I believe it's a $50 steak, guessing it's a similar price upstairs. I would have sent it back so fast if I was paying full price. The steak itself was so-so, not remarkable in seasoning or flavor. Guess that explains the sauces they make for it, which were ok and necessary for eating it. The filets I tried from around the table were better-cooked and tasty. Desserts were delicious overall. the coffee creme brulee was perfect, rich and savory. The key lime pie was absolutely fantastic, great presentation and loved the toasted meringue on top. The chocolate cake was ok...too dry and left to the side by our table. Overall, bill was around $450 for six people. Was it good? Yes. Lots of potential here. Was it great? No. Rehearsal dinners are good times to work out the kinks and get feedback, I passed mine on to the super-nice manager, and I wish nothing but the best for the new restaurant. I would love to take my girlfriend back here for a special occasion but am extremely hesitant dropping real money here for a 'pretty good' dinner. Hopefully when they expand the menu they learn the finer points of cooking their steak, create more interesting sides, and give themselves an original angle instead of milking the pretty view and upscale steakhouse mantra that so many places around are doing...better. read more

The food here was incredibly disappointing. my sister and I don't get out too much and when we venture out and spend money on dinner we want it to be good. My sister ordered a chicken dish with risotto. The chicken seemed very questionable as to whether it was even fully cooked and the "risotto" was laughable! Seriously, if you can't make the dish properly then you should take it off of your menu. Barley is NOT risotto. I ordered the coconut crusted mahi-mahi that was cooked so much it had the consistency of a well-cooked chicken only tougher. The bokchoy that it was served with was boiled to an almost in-recognizable state and slathered with butter. Even with s+p, there was no saving these two items. The pineapple rice was good. We did take leftovers ( which I usually look forward to- it's like re-living a good experience) but when we got home, we tossed them because we both decided that the food sucked. My friend has been telling me about this place for a long time but I never really thought about coming here, but since I go to school in long beach my friend picked me up and took me here for lunch. The view here is amazing! The restaurant is also really pretty also. My friend told me they had the best cheese bread here so I tried some of his and it was really good. I also got clam chowder, which was also very creamy and good. For my entree I got the grilled Chilean sea bass with rice and grilled veggies. It tastes super fresh and light. I really loved the ambiance of this place and service was really good also. This is a great place to take your date for a nice dinner. I will definitely come back here again and take my friends. It got to be a bit too much. Entrees were -___- not for me for the price we're paying - Seafood linguine - I got this and it looked rather unappetizing.. with vegetables cut in thin irregular shapes and mussels from a can or something. It also seemed that like cheese was microwaved on top of it - Surf and turf - lobster and steak. Lobster wasn't extraordinary and the filet mignon was not outstanding. but $47 for this? I think I'll pass.. - fish and chips - all I can say is fries were good! The fish was nicely fried but absolutely had no flavor. Needed some salt and pepper, which there were none at the table. Service - our waitress Brittany looked tired :( Although I think she did try to become a big happier, but it just didn't really shine through. I saw light house, and decide to have a 'little snack" because I would love to enjoy the beautiful ambiance. I chose outdoor seating, under a lamp heater and its perfect, I can smell the ocean, looking across there's queen mary, feel the breeze and its beautiful and relaxing. I didn't order a meal, I had their house chardonnay not the best but it was okay, 2 dozen of oyster, and their amazing garlic bread. Its one of the best late nigh snack I had for a while... I went here yesterday for the first time for the view I had seen in pictures but got much more than the beautiful scenery. Service was so excellent. Our waitress was wonderful. She was sure to answer all our questions about the menu and came back often to be sure we had all we needed and was enthusiastic about serving us. In fact all the staff here is extremely attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. If you are a chocolate lover you must have the Godiva cake. I am not big on cake but this isn't any cake. You cannot come here and be worried about your diet. Put that aside and enjoy! :D I will definitely be back here to make more memories and enjoy delicious food and take in the best view shoreline village offers. read more

I have only been here once... was suggested in a site or magazine best top 10 best seafood places in long beach Quality: I had the seared Ahi tuna and it was good. I also had an appetizer and I remember it was good. The tuna was fresh and seasoned well (note it was raw). Price: Quite expensive. Around $30-50 per person for dinner. Would include appetizer, meal, drink and dessert. Chefs special are at least $20+ as high as $45. Atmosphere: Very romantic and classy. One of the best view of the long beach harbor and queen mary. The restaurant is right on edge of the peninsula and overlooks the harbor with plenty of over sized windows and high ceiling. The restaurant is big, two stories with a large heated patio. Very good date place or special events. Overall: I would check it out again for a special event but am still looking around long beach for comparable restaurants. The shoreline, the boats, the ocean. I love the view if you're lucky enough to sit on the patio or near it. I've been here a handful of times. The patio is usually very comfortable even on the coolers nights with the heaters on and the glass walls. With every visit I've had the service has always been amazing. Knowledgeable and polite staff that make sure you never have a moment to wish a server was nearby. Very enjoyable atmosphere but can be a bit loud at times depending on how full it is. The food always has very nice presentation and served hot. The desserts are as you would expect from this ind of restaurant. Not terribly impressive but good. The creme brulee is not the best I've had but it's enjoyable as is everything else. You can order any of the entrees as Cajun style if you like a bit more spice to your food and it's very good. One thing I do have to point out is the crab cakes. These are by far the best crab cakes I've ever had and they are what keeps me coming back. They are melt in your mouth delicious. Served with a southwest style corn salsa type deal. Just excellent. I've had their sushi also and it's okay. Nothing special. Somewhat average but also good. I expected better from a seafood place honestly but I wasn't completely disappointed, it does taste fresh. This is a great place for groups, they even have a sports bar. It's a nice and fun place with good food, fair prices, and excellent service. The decor is very enjoyable and makes for a unique experience. Eating upstairs is also quite a treat. I'm sad to see Parker's getting poor reviews! I've been coming here since I was little, and I've always loved it. The food is tasty and the view - especially from the top floor - is great. My only current complaint is all of the renovations they are doing. I guess I'm not fond of change! I heard that the top floor will be a steakhouse now? Just an excuse to charge more for that view! Anyway, my recommendations for a delicious (shared) meal: Steamers Rock Oysters Calamari Cheese Bread This is enough for three people, although you might want another order of the bread because it tastes great dipped in the juice from the steamers. The Parkers' Light house is a great place to dine, especially if you're not native to the area or there on business. It's got a fun atmosphere and the food was really good. I was a bit hesitant, after reading a few scathing reviews by others, but decided to give it a chance anyway. I had the sushi and it was excellent! I also had the calamari appetizer, which was also very good. I will say, though, the waiter did hover over us a bit. Sometimes you just want a drink and to peruse the menu for bit before ordering. Its not like it was busy, so it should have been ok, but I think he was really disturbed by it and kept stopping by even through we were obviously still looking, drinking, and talking. Maybe he was new or something? A few notes: 1. Make a reservation and ask for a table on the main dining floor if you want a view of something other than a wall. 2. Use the shuttle service! They have a nice service that will pick you up at your hotel and take you back. read more
