I came for Happy Hour, which was $8 for two appetizers and $8 cocktails. Appetizers: - Zucchini Fritters: SOOO delicious, they're crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, the yogurt they come with is also so tasty. Highly recommend! - Cheese croquettes: these were pretty standard, the jam/sauce they came with were was sweet and I wasn't a huge fan. - Spicy Pepper and Walnut Muammara Dip: this dip came with pita chips. It alone was a bit bland but had a good texture. Drinks: - Blood Orange Martini: Very tasty and unique! - Peach & Ginger Sangria: A bit bitter, but good if you don't like sweeter drinks. - Turkish Apricot Margarita: Also very tasty! One of my favorite brunch spots in the city during the summer. The outdoor space is gorgeous with tons of room for groups. It's the perfect place to grab brunch and catch up. It's usually crowded during the summer months so make a reservation if you're looking to come here. My most recent visit there: the food is good, but I had to stick to a salad since I can't have dairy/eggs. There's not much on the menu that they make without cheese so I did the country salad with grilled salmon and asked that they do not include cheese. I also got a side of fries. It was good amount of food and very filling. I also tried a bite of my friend's steak from the steak and eggs and it was perfectly cooked. The cocktails are good also. Came in for dinner on a Friday night and was slightly concerned by how empty the place was. I soon learned that we were just early. We got seated right away and halfway through our meal, all the other tables in the place were full. We ordered family style. Here's what you must try and what you should avoid. Salmon: Must try. Cooked to perfection with a crisp on one side, the salmon was a well done menu item. If you're not a big fan of cauliflower, avoid the bed it is planted on. Brussel Sprout Salad: Soooo good. Brussel sprouts are shredded and paired wit cheese and sauce and pears. Perfect for sharing and I loved every bite. Lamb Slides: I typically do not like lamb, but this had me wishing we ordered way more of these. The sliders come with two, we asked if they could add one for our party of 3 and they said no... (typically a place will add a piece and charge you for it, it seemed a little ridiculous to say no). But the meat was high quality and well seasoned, extremely tasty. Chicken "Adana" Cut Roll: Not tasty. This comes with ground chicken that does not taste like chicken, it was almost mystery meat and felt inedible. I recently did a birthday event here and worked with Burak. From the start I was impressed with his responsiveness and patience, and answering my questions. It was a milestone bday and I wanted it to be perfect and the team at Pera ensured it was. The food, and service were wonderful, and the logistics were seamless. We sat outside and had our own area. They were also very nice and let my group hang around a little past the time we were supposed to end. In terms of pricing, I thought the cost was very reasonable and there were no hidden fees (ie no admin or covid fees) which other restaurants have. Such a lovely time spent with my girl friends at Pera Soho to celebrate my 24th birthday! The design is very open and airy, with an expansive outdoor patio area and elevated narrow deck that flows effortlessly into the bar ( kudos to the architect!), definitely inviting! This review is long overdue. I've loved brunching at this spot for ages (get the vegetable sandwich or the "bacon" egg and cheese-- the pork belly is amazing). They have the best outdoor garden- in the summer it's like a tropical oasis with good music and all of the plants. In the winter it boasts twinkly lights and heaters to keep you warm. My family and I visited yesterday for a Valentines Day meal and had a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, we felt safe and we'll looked-after. All of the staff were wearing double masks and all tables were well distanced with plastic partitions. The ambiance is really nice- feels very secluded and away from the hustle and bustle. We were just happy to be eating out but the food far surpassed all of our expectations. Our waitress was lovely and everyone was very attentive. The menu and location caught our attention and we have heard great reviews but after our experience we figured maybe not for restaurant week. Upon arrival we were sat in a secluded room behind the bar instead of outside in the patio or main dining area. We ordered our 3 course meal which came with a drink (wine or beer), and again all the courses were okay. The main star of the show was the calamari. Our table wasn't checked on frequently and it felt like we were being easily forgotten due to our location. I'll admit it: I went into this experience with very high expectations. Situated in the heart of SoHo, I expected Pera to provide an exquisite Mediterranean dining experience. Unfortunately, it fell short in a few ways. In terms of ambiance, the restaurant floor is warmly lit and inviting to patrons. The menu is substantial and enticing, hence my high hopes. Staff was friendly and checked in often. I started with a cucumber-gin cocktail that was quite pleasant. It was advertised as spicy, but was fortunately not overpowering in any way. Consider this a green light for those that are spice-averse! Our meal began with the dip sampler, featuring hummus, "muammara", roasted eggplant, and a yogurt-based dip. All were tasty, but didn't blow me away. My main course was the chicken shashlik, which came with an arugula side salad, a side of rice, and pita bread. The variety alone drew me to the dish and was a great way to try different flavors. However, the chicken itself was uninspired. It was cooked well, but had minimal flavor. The dipping sauce provided was ketchup. I would have expected a more cuisine-appropriate dip; instead, I felt like a bit silly dipping my bland chicken in ketchup. My friend ordered the burger, which actually had a more authentic flavor profile. If I return, I may splurge for the lamb in hopes of a more complete experience. All in all, I will be continuing my search for a go-to Mediterranean spot elsewhere. Came here for happy hour drinks and appetizers with the work squad. We had a fairly large group, squeezing into three of the square tables between the lot of us. Our waiter was pretty quick with service and all the requests, so no complaints there. I'd come in a little later than the rest of the group, and the waiter was ready to take my drink order and was soon back with my drink. The happy hour appetizers, or mezes, were a great deal -- I was two appetizers for $8. We got the Mediterranean fries with truffle salt and herbs and the labne terleten, which is a yoghurt with chili served with chips. I also got the Soho Blossom, a sparkling wine cocktail with rose hip tea, orange blossom, and St. Germain. As a fan of elderflower, I was, of course, really into my drink. While I thought the sparkling wine would dominate, and the rose hip would only be ornamental, I could taste both the citrus in the orange blossom and the distinct rose hint as I was sipping. The fries and chips were fun to snack on, though they didn't stand out spectacularly. Overall, prices weren't bad, and the atmosphere was fun! Overall I thought the food here was pretty tasty. Here's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. We were eating outside, and it was cold (expected). They did have heating lamps, but the way the tables were positioned, there was one lamp trying to distribute heat to two tables, and our table wasn't positioned evenly to get the same amount of heat as the one next to us. I had the pork belly egg and cheese sandwich, which was great, but could've been served hotter. The star of the show was the pitcher of apricot Bellini. The vibe and ambience of this place is really nice. However, that was probably my favorite part. The menu is not very extensive and the food is average. The spicy pepper and walnut dip wasn't spicy and needed more flavor. The chip to dip ratio was also off and there was too much dip. A waiter offered to bring us more chips but never came. I got the chicken shashlik which was also average. The chicken was burnt in many places which im not a fan of and the rice was pretty flavorless too.
