So far so good, remind me Vietnamese flavor Bun Bo come with the correct veggies for this soup because another place they are just give you cabbage and mint leaves, I can say The Best Bun Bo in Town. The Sandwich here is good too! I come here often to get sandwich and coffee combo, also the sweet soup dessert just come out it's so good, some of new item like Vietnamese Kim Chi so good, lemongrass sour chicken feet look good but I'm not try yet and I will try it next time. They are also have Vietnamese lotus salad, fresh spring rolls , beef stew and rice plate come with soup they are also yummy. Exactly what this block needed! Good coffee that's open before 9:00 am (opens at 8:00 am) and well priced banh mi sandwiches (banh mis on Clement aren't worth the price). SALT COFFEE: Delicious salty/creamy mixture on top of strong coffee (40/60 ratio, respectively), not too much ice, and only $4.50! BANH MI (chicken): Bigger than most, tender and flavorful chicken, and all the veggies were very fresh. It was so good I forgot to take a pic. I had a craving for banh mi and found this place online. I decided to try it out after reading all the reviews. I also opted for the special combo special which includes any sandwich and any drink for $12.99. I ordered 3 banh mi's: #1 combination: #3 which has pork belly, meatball, ham, & pate: and #4 chicken and added pate. For the drinks, I got old faithful iced vietnamese milk coffee. #3 exceeded my expectations, so tender and mouth watering. #1 was just ok. #4 is good as is, and it was even better after I heated it up for a minute in the microwave. Coffee is good and strong. I'm so glad they open early at 7am so there is ample parking and the meters have not started yet. I highly recommend trying out this place and support local businesses. So so good. Spring rolls were some of the best we've had anywhere. My husband got #3 (the pork belly and meatball pate). It elicited loud "MMMMMM's" from him for 5 minutes The only thing I would say is that I would ask for mayonnaise next time (it was good without but I think that adding it would make it even better) Oh yeah and get a drink. The Dac Biet was stuffed with meat and a generous slab of pate (my favorite part) - the bread was perfect- crusty but not too airy (which I find most places to be). I ended up trying it because none of my usual spots were open yet and they had earlier hours. The woman behind the counter greeted everyone that walk in no matter how busy she is. Talk about good service. The timing is good for the wait. She is by herself so it is what it is. I never rush employees or owner of restaurants. Especially if they are by themselves. Restaurants business is a tough business and to run it smoothly. You need understanding from the customers too. The combo sandwich is what I got. It was the end of the day for her so I ordered that and pork chop over vermicelli noodles. It was soooooo good! I also got the lemonade ice tea. This is my favorite place for banh mi in SF. They get bread delivered fresh daily so when they run out they may close early. So be sure to call in to check or order ahead. They have a few seats for those that want to eat there. My go to sandwiches are the #1, 5, or 7 with everything. I have enjoyed everything on the menu that I've tried including the drinks. A new banh mi place in the Richmond??! Yes please! Owner was super friendly and nice. I ordered the chicken banh mi and it was packed with tender delicious chicken. She had thoughtfully asked if pate was ok on the sandwich which I happily welcomed. The bread was absolutely perfect. Fresh, crunchy, and chewy. Definitely will be back to try out her other selections and will take advantage of the sandwich and drink combo deal I didn't see until after i started eating. Was a great sandwich for a great price. My favorite banh mi in the Richmond. I recommend calling ahead to order as they can get pretty busy at lunchtime. Simple, limited menu, good prices and consistently good sandwiches on nice crusty bread. Definitely try the salt coffee. Sometimes they also sell pho ingredients to take home read more

I found this place randomly just walking on Geary doing some errands. I wanted to grab some lunch for my SO so I thought why not give this place a try. Well I'm glad I did. This is a no-frills place with a variety of classic flavors banh mis. I got the number 3 (ham, pork belly, pate) but I think I will try it without the pork belly next time because im sure it will be really good even without it. They have a special which is a sandwich and a drink for $10.88. Such a great deal! And the owner said she will be adding egg coffee to the menu which is so great because I don't know anywhere in sf that has it yet Besides, the food being good, Please support small businesses! Other places often feel too commercialized, with dry meat and pickles that are too sweet and sour. The bread is usually too hard and dense, and there's so much filling that you can't even close the sandwich properly. But Phi Long gets it right. Hidden gem! We are always looking to support local family businesses and happened to come across this place on Yelp a few weeks back. Was able to head over in the morning to try it out. Background: I've grown up eating Vietnamese sandwiches and drinking Vietnamese coffee. Have had it all throughout California, east coast and Asia. Service and ambiance : Greeted by a very nice lady who was the only one working. A couple seats on the side but it's mostly a to-go setup. Vietnamese music videos playing on the side while you wait. Food: Combination sandwich (#1): fresh tasting baguette with all the correct fixings of a typical combination (was pleasantly delighted as some of the local places try to add other ingredients not true to a classic Dac Biet). It was definitely one of the better ones I've had in the city (speaking from experience of eating at all the local Richmond and sunset Banh mi places; also have eaten at Saigon sandwiches and Lees plenty of times). Overall, good ingredients and quality ! Salted coffee: Vietnamese coffee is made with the French drip in a large pot to be used for multiple orders and adds condense milk . Got the salted coffee which had a salty whipped cream in top. Overall delicious and definitely tasted like the Vietnamese coffee you should be getting (as oppose to potted black coffee places sometimes try to pass as "Vietnamese coffee"; there is a difference in taste and caffeine potency when you compare the two). We eat out a lot, travel to eat but rarely post. I wanted to post this to not only help a local mom and pop shop trying to grow but also rave about the deliciousness and affordability this place offers. $11 plus tax for a sandwich and drink is unheard of in the area ( as other places a sandwich can run you 11-15 dollars which is pricey for something that usually should be less than $10) . Worth the trip for a breakfast, lunch or even dinner meal. We will be back to try other things and continue to support local businesses! 1st time trying this Vietnamese sandwich shop in the inner Richmond. Ordered 2x Bahn Mi sandwiches and a grill pork with egg roll lunch plate. It's pickup only here and you have to wait a little bit as it is really a small family business. Food was excellent. I actually thought my grilled pork sandwich was too generous on the pork and wished there was more pickled vegetables... that probably not a problem for most people. We didn't mind the wait as we love to support local small businesses. Be prepared to wait if you go during lunch time. Prices very reasonable, good value. read more

The bahn mi here is yummy and authentic! The lady is nice and is full Vietnamese, unlike a lot of SF establishments owned by Viet Chinese refugees. I'm Chinese American with parents born in Vietnam. I enjoyed the grilled beef bahn mi I bought here. I got the combo deal with taro milk tea. The milk tea here doesn't have boba and half of the cup is ice, hence the 4 stars. I should've ordered a Viet coffee instead since that's what the Vietnamese is known for, but I already drank coffee at home. I also bought the tofu bahn mi for my friend who really liked it. The baguette is the same size as Saigon Sandwich but smaller than Lee's Sandwiches. My favorite is still those 2, but I'll come here for the grilled beef and pork bahn mi which I can't find there. This is also a very convenient location since I live in the neighborhood, and very clean unlike the Tenderloin. No seating really to eat inside, but a small long table and a few chairs to sit while waiting for your bahn mi to be prepared. I'm really happy this place opened, especially since Little Paris used to be located on Clement St but closed. I like to go to the mom and pop authentic Vietnamese shop/restaurant like this instead of the fusion/bougie ones. read more
