I'm assuming "TheChef K." is Korean, so therefore he really doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm Vietnamese and have actually eaten Pho in Vietnam, twice! I think this place makes a better bowl of Pho than what I ate in Saigon. I always try to take my friends here, especially if they're really poor. They love the Happy Hour $3.99 bowl of "Pho Tai", which is pho with rare beef. It's incredibly filling and really tasty. I've tried lots of the other dishes too, and my favorites include "Com tam bi cha suon nuong" (Jullienne pork, egg quiche and charbroiled pork chop) and "Com bo luc lac" (Filet mignon with a variation of garlic butter rice - SO GOOD!). The drinks are also pretty amazing here. Make sure to try out the smoothies. If you're adventurous enough, try either "The Black Sea" or avocado smoothie. You won't regret it! After wards, I always have to make my boyfriend drive due to having food coma whenever I come. It also helps that the food bill is incredibly reasonable! read more

Delicious pho at a good price. I like how their pho broth isn't overwhelmingly salty and the noodles aren't too hard or too soft. Rather, they're cooked to perfection. Service could be better, but all in all, this place is perfect when I'm craving pho and don't feel like making the trek to Westminster. I ordered the vegetable pho with chicken because I just wasn't feeling the rare steak and tripe (the latter is what I usually order). My foodie companion ordered the rare steak along with a combination house special platter with green leaf wrapper (egg rolls, fried shrimp party wrapped in tofu skin and charbroiled pork). This restaurant is probably a secret to all those outside the area of Tustin, but this is a definite steal to the people who are fans of pho. The restaurant's special is the $3.99 for rare strip steak pho. With the restaurant's expansion into the next suite, the service level may have diminished since my last visit. They still have the same amount of servers for there expanded restaurant. If they were not busy I would think they would serve you just fine. Wanted to like this out of the way hidden Vietnamese place. Spring rolls were kind of messy and more noodle then veg....which we tend to prefer more veg. Waitress was nice which was the one shining point about the place. Restrooms left much to be desired. We all ordered bun (different variations), and were enjoying our food. Then the lady at the table next to us found a hair in her food. Ok, that slowed our eating down just a bit. Then my wife's mom started to pick at something slowly. She moved it to the side of her plate and sure enough after examination.....some kind of bug which i'm going to assume was a cockroach. STOPPED US IN OUR TRACKS!!! I had already eaten most of my food, and my pregnant wife had gotten about half in....but there was no more eating to be had after that. It's a little hard to find but, when you're on Red Hill, look for the plaza with Stater Bros. in it. It's also by the 5 freeway. I ordered #20, I believe it was the Pho Tai Nam Gan Sach (large bowl) and my girlfriend ordered I THINK the Pho Tai Nam (small bowl). The menus have pictures of a few of their dishes if you don't know what their portions look like or if you've never had pho before. The food came out pretty quick (we were the only ones there at the time). The meat is thin, but they gave me a lot of tripe! The soup was good, definitely had flavor :9 They didn't give me that much for a large. It just looked like a lot because their large bowls are pretty big. They seemed to be more generous with the meat for a small bowl. As for drinks, they have boba, juice, and sodas. Oh yeah, what REALLY surprised me was their FREE REFILLS! :D I was like, "WHAT!? Free refills!? DAMN!" Because Asian restaurants almost always never have free refills, so this was a plus... but I didn't get a soda though, lol. Scott M's review seems pretty far fetched and exaggerated. :p Anyways, from what I saw it was clean, I don't know about the restroom though. This is my favorite place to go to for pho. Surprisingly, I hardly ever get pho when I go there now after discovering the #42. *drool* Chicken with lemongrass and green chile. But the pho is still fabulous! The food prices are very reasonable. The drink prices are little more than I'd expect to pay at a hole-in-the-wall place but maybe they need to make payments on their drink machine. The people are friendly. My husband goes here a lot at lunch so they know him. I like that they have a punch card for repeat visitors. They have a student discount and a dine-in $3.99 pho lunch special. It is located in the strip with the Stater Brothers so it isn't fine dining. But the food comes out fast and fresh and the service is friendly. No fuss. No muss. read more

Love this little restaurant. We can always count on it for a good bowl of rare beef pho and some bbq chicken. The have some really great dinner specials 50% off some pho's and the bbq chicken (changes now and then). The spring rolls are ok--nothing awesome. The egg rolls are always crisp and fresh. The other dinner meals are also pretty good--pork chop, rib eye and the like. Very reasonably priced and good food to boot. There was very little thin sliced beef and too much fat. The egg rolls and spring rolls were good. The salad was good as well. I'm just really picky when it comes to beef. Every time my family and I are in SoCal this place is a MUST! The food is filled with love and has such deep flavor. No words can describe the comfort and joy in their pho bowls. The first time we tried this place it was doordashed to our hotel and it arrived piping hot, noodles separated from the broth so they don't get soggy, and allllll the mix-ins. We ordered two days in a row for lunch and dinner! The next time we came to the area we dined in the restaurant and their service was so friendly and helpful! I always order the small, finish the whole thing, and then regret not getting the large. The portions aren't that big so I definitely recommend getting the large if you're hungry. The prices are really inexpensive so you might as well go for it! Although I do love the pho here, I almost always have a problem with the service. The servers always say as little as possible and I think it's because of the language barrier. We have a local place we like, but we were ordering from GrubHub and wanted to try something new. They had a 5 star rating from almost 100 reviews, so we decided to give them a try. We had two orders of pho, one with rare steak and tendon, and the other with rare steak. We also ordered an extra side of rare steak and a brisket. The broth was very basic, nearly bland. The portions of meat were not significant, and all 3 baggies of rare steak were the same size. This means that the amount of steak in a single meat pho, a double meat pho, and an extra portion for $3.50 were all the same size. We also ordered tempura shrimp. These were completely smooth, like a flour battered appearance, and the sauce they came with was not like any tempura sauce I've ever had. Lastly, we ordered 3 spring rolls. The sauce was good, the rolls held together well, an while this is not the first restaurant I've been to that has just medium shrimps in them, the slice of pork was smaller than one of the shrimp. I have been comming here since I started work off Walnut/Redhill, and saw a Pho place close by.... and I haven't stopped since. I like to come here once a week to fulfill my pho cravings, and when my friend's mom decides to not cook pho. The waiters are all nice, and the owners are especially nice (to both repeat and first timers) The owner's daughter also occasionally works there, and is pretty cute/nice. The service is so fast, I can get in and out, fully satisfied, in less than 30 minutes. I usually split between Pho Dac Biet and Pho Ga, depending my mood, and they are both delicious. I have to sip the soup before i start to add on the Thai Basil, cilantro, lime, sprouts, peppers, Hoisin and Sriracha . After im finished, they usually bring around some tapioca dessert that cleanses the palette. I've had their shakes, and they are also very good. The salted limeade is very good too! It was recommended to me by the owner when i was having a sore throat. So my experience with Pho Bac Ky has always been great, and nothing has given me a reason to not ever come back. read more

I remembered this place from when my friend took me here. He no longer lives in Tustin, but this place is conveniently located adjacent to the 5 Freeway (Red Hill Ave exit). I love the specials that they had. During the weekends (11am-9pm), a regular bowl of pho tai costs only $3.99 plus tax and they have the same special during the weekday from 3-9pm too. Ordered: Mi Dac Biet (its good. it has their spin on the pho broth with egg noodles along with Vietnamese meatballs, shrimp, and some kind of beef brisket sliced up. The sliced beef was delicious and so soft. I really enjoyed it. Thai tea (w/out boba; on diet lol). It was ok. Very cool for them putting whip cream (probably bit much). Was impressed when we were leaving and they asked us if we wanted to to-go the drink and placed it in a container. Not saying this spot is bad, it's just your average neighborhood pho joint. The beef broth actually has a really nice smoky taste, one of the best broths I've tasted in a while. But they are really skimpy on the meat here. They just load you up on noodles. That could be why the pho is so cheap, it's less than $10 for most large phos, but you do have to spend more than $10 to pay with a credit card. They do have a platter meal, which is two pieces of protein, a mound of rice, a small salad, a small bowl of soup, a spring roll and two egg rolls. It does sound like a shareable amount of food, but it's actually enough for one person. They do give a free drink with check-in, so props to that! I do like the pho spot a few blocks away, Pho Hung Vuong, a bit better but is no match to Pho Saigon Pearl or Sup Noodle Bar, my two favorite pho spots in OC. read more

Its simple. Go here if you want to be sat down and forgot about. Me and my gf came here for some pho while it was dead. We were sat in the corner and clearly forgot about. Even tho the waitress kept going to and from the table right next to us. When we walked out to leave. We were looked at and then ignored. Avoid this place and go to the pho spot a mile away.
