The pho was delicious, but what I experienced was a condescending attitude from the staff. I'm not leaving this review after just one visit, I've been there four times, and on all four occasions, I was treated poorly by a female staff, around her late 30s to 40s. I've tried to let it go many times, but on my fourth visit, I couldn't tolerate it anymore. When I ordered pho, I spoke respectfully and politely, yet she turned away and walked off before I even finished my order. On another visit, she even told me to leave right after finishing my meal even though I only took about 20 minutes to eat a large bowl of pho. Wow!!! I thought I already had a go-to spot for chicken pho but since everyone was mentioning the chicken pho on here, I wanted to give it a try. First of all, the portion is HUGE for the price. I want to say I think I paid like $12-13 for the chicken pho but I could have definitely shared it with someone, and I was given A TON of chicken. The chicken was nice and meaty and didn't have that aftertaste that typical boiled chicken may have. The broth omg was to die for. I was hit with such big flavor for such a light broth, and I loved how it had a small hint of sweetness that tied all of the flavors together. The pho with lean slices of beef was excellent, as always but I was disappointed to learn that the fried egg rolls were no longer on the menu. The restaurant was small with a simple menu: pho with various toppings, one rice dish, cha gio, and typical drinks you expect in Vietnamese restaurants. The large bowls were huge and big enough for two people. You get so much food for so little $ compare to Santa Barbara. Broth was savory and fragrant. Accompany herbs include blanched bean sprouts, sawtooth herb, Thai basil, jalapeno, and lime wedges. I wish they gave a little less herbs because it seemed wasteful. Cha gio was hot and crispy. Been here twice and tried the chicken pho and the beef pho (Pho Dac Biet- special combo with multiple meats-Bo vien, Tai, brisket, fatty brisket, etc.). Get it with banh tuoi (Fresh wide rice noodles-you'll thank me later). Both pho dishes had a very solid, clean, flavorful broth. Meat is very tender and soft, the fresh noodles are excellent! Visited on a Saturday evening around 7 pm with a party of 5 and was seated immediately they can definitely accommodate larger parties here (they just had to move tables together). About 5 mins after we were seated it was very busy the restaurant was full and people were waiting outside. There isn't that many seats inside but it feels very spacious and plenty of room for each table and people to dine. The service is nice and kind but on the slower side. I noticed that there were only two servers. If you don't speak Vietnamese there may be a language barrier with the servers. I recommend just showing them the items you want directly from the menu as in point to the items in the menu. The menu items are all reasonable priced. After we ordered, our drinks and veggies and sides came out fast but the pho bowls themselves took a while to come out. They came out around 10 mins later. They give a lot of fresh veggies/sides here and the bean sprouts are steamed. I ordered a small pho thit bo-xi quach with thin noodles. Xi-quach is beef rib bone meat. The bowl came out piping hot which is delicious but over cooked the fresh thin noodles. There was so much meat, noodles, and broth! I could not finish the small bowl and I had to share my meat with others at the table and left noodles behind. If you want something with a lot of meat get this bowl and meat combo. I looked at the other people in parties pho bowls and they didn't have as much meat as me that day (they ordered dac biet). I'm sure I had the most meat. I appreciate that they cut the meat off of the bones into small bite size pieces. The meat was perfectly cooked and easy to eat. The soup was rich and salty. The pho was amazing, we got chicken and shrimp pho, which both had good portions of meat and noodles. There were about 10/12 shrimps in the large shrimp pho, which were perfectly cooked when it was brought to the table. Prices were around the $13/$15 mark for a regular size ( add $1.50 if you want a large, worth it in my option if you are really hungry). Service was good, we came right as it was starting to get busy so wait time for the food to come out was about 10/15 min ( not bad in my option with how busy it was and with a shift change of staff). I will say, they do charge for water ( $1) which is actually just the 16oz Kirkland Costco water bottle. The Thai tea was hands down some of the best Thai tea I've had in a long time ($6). Our quest to find a good place for Pho. Was recommended to this place and it was on the spot. Before you enter the place, the fragrant can be experienced right in front. Outdoor and indoor seating available plenty of parking space the restaurant opened late. We ordered the special bowl which have all cuts of meat except my favorites of tendon and tripe slices. The broth is full of flavor, the broth filled to the rim and amble cuts of meat in the bowl. Not to mention the necessary condiments come with this. Bean sprouts, Thai basil, Chinese parsley and Vietnamese parsley which looks like thyme leaves and picked sliced onions. The only slide back is the siracha chili comes in an individual pancakes rather than the famous HUY Fong red and green nozzle bottle. We sat there for 30 before I could get someone to take my order. And was there for over 1.5hr. I came here after I heard people compare it to Phoholic. Honestly, I can see why people say that now. Pho Good is a smaller shop owned by family business and the food really shows that. I ordered egg rolls and a bowl of combo pho and both were super fragrant and incredibly filling. The egg rolls were pipping hot so I knew that they had just rolled and fried them. The pho tasted like "mom's" cooking with the intent of all it's flavors and homely feeling ! You really cannot go just anywhere for that feeling. I also got a Vietnamese coffee which was a perfect compliment for my whole meal. Pho Good does it exactly like Vietnam where it's super concentrated and has plenty of ice so that by the end of your meal the ice melts a bit to make the perfect ratio after eating. My whole meal came out to be only $15 for an appetizer, an entree, and a drink! After a cold night of having a bonfire at Huntington beach. We were craving late night pho. This place closes at 2am so this was the place to go! I arrived around 11pm and there was a lot of parking (i mean its kinda late) but to my dismay. The restaurant is actually pretty small. It feels like a small mom & pop shop. The people working here aren't too helpful or king. I mean they're the baby boomer generation so they don't know about that customer service. Thats not the main thing anyways. Its all about the food! The name is definitely an understatement. The food is far better than good, it was great. I got two different types of pho (brisket & combo) both of which has very generous portions. The veggies on the side were fresh and plenty of them as well. The pho broth was very well spiced and flavorful. I ordered take out so when I got there I noticed the restaurant was packed and had lots of customers. It may not be the best place for an intimate setting but taking friends here would be fine.
