I ordered 12 dozen piroshki's for my husband's 40th birthday. The food was amazing. Beautifully prepared and tasted delicious. I ordered a large variety of flavors and all were perfect. I had the order delivered and was happy with the service. The driver called me after he dropped off the order at the event site, so it was professional. The first time I called I spoke to a very sweet and helpful woman. She made suggestions and was thorough. I decided to add more food to my order a few days later. A different woman answered and seemed very annoyed with me. I asked her what she would suggest I add to my order and she told me she has no idea what kind of piroshki my guests would like. I asked her "what's the most popular" she replied annoyed "they all are!". So that was not pleasant. However I called back a couple days later and the super sweet one answered and was happy to suggest flavors. She went over my order and told me what would be great to add to it. I was thrilled with her service. She was kind and made the experience wonderful. Kudos to her! I WOULD order from them again to cater an event! read more

I don't live in Seattle and accidentally went to this place instead of the Piroshky Piroshky at Pike Market. I realized this after ordering the salmon and beef, broccoli, and cheese piroshkis and scrolling through my Yelp app. This place wasn't too busy, so like others have said, it wasn't piping hot out of the oven or anything, but the lady behind the counter heated up our piroshkis and they were pretty good. Still, I *had* to have the Piroshky piroshkis, so I dragged my bf back to Pike Market, and we stood in line for the "real" piroshkis. We got a salmon pate one at the second place, and it was very similar to the one we had at this location. I think it's a decent substitute if you want to try a piroshki and don't want to stand in the long Pike Market line. read more

Piroshki sells multiple piroshki baked goods, cookies, espresso and drip coffee. I had a ham and bacon piroshki, drip coffee, and some short bread cookies. I like how the store has a different angle, Russian bakery items, compared to the Top Pot donut shop or Starbucks close by. I will go back there when in the neighborhood again. read more

Meh. On the pricier side for what it is (and how closely it resembles certain Chinatown baos) at about $5/piroshki. They were generously filled but were not warmed all the way through. Beef/cabbage was the most flavorful of the ones I tried. The real gripe here is with the borscht which was hastily assembled with just-sliced nearly raw green cabbage, what appeared to be canned beets and red food coloring, and a beany broth. Super yummy, but they don't quite match up for Piroshky Piroshky downtown -- mainly because I have a gnarly sweet tooth and there are really little to no sweet options here. The dough is a little smooshier too. However -- total win on the savory fillings. WAY better that those guys in the market. I had a broccoli, beef, & cheese. Omg -- so good! I nibbled around the mushroom and rice one CW grabbed and yes, that was damn yummy too. There are plenty of onion free fillings which is also a big win in my book, but when I have broccoli why would I really need anything else? Lately I've been in the First Hill neighborhood a lot, thanks to all my recent medical/dental procedures. So, to find the silver lining on the cloud, I've made it a point to start popping into the various eateries in this area that I normally wouldn't get the opportunity to. On today's agenda, Piroshki on Madison! Now, I know what you're thinking, aren't all of these things more or less the same? Some doughy bun with ingredients baked inside? Conceptually, yes, however Piroshki on Madison definitely steps it up in the size/portion department. Compared to Piroshky Piroshky in the Pike Place Market, the buns here are much larger, with a slightly sweeter, denser texture. I chose the mushroom, cabbage, and onion piroshky, since I figured I'd TRY to be good and get some veggies in and avoid the heavy cheeses, although I'm relatively sure you can't really go wrong with whatever you choose here. The gentleman behind the counter was very patient and friendly while I stared in wide-eyed wonder at the cases of deliciocity, and while $4.65 seems a little steep for a single piroshky, once you get it in your hands you'll realize just how massive and meaty these things are. If you're in the neighborhood and seeking a portable, comfort-food style lunch, definitely give this place a try. They'll warm up your piroshky for you if you'd like, or if you'd rather heat it later, they'll even tell you exactly how long to warm it for! Living South King County, you normally would not find any Russian specialty bakeries which is very unfortunate. So when do have an opportunity to get a Piroshki, I jump all over it. Recently I've had some business to attend to on First Hill and was very ecstatic to find to place. One word: Amazing. There are plenty to choose from which to me is not a good thing because I end up trying to grab as much as possible; not only for lunch but for snacking a few days after. Its wonderful leftover :) Remember Piroshki where actually created to not have left overs go to waste, saving a previous dinner and baking it in a dough the next day. There's your brief cultural lesson if needed. Prices are very affordable so if its for a meal or just a quick snack these are great! I recently had the Pizza Piroshki for the first time. I suggest something from the beige food group. This is a tiny place, located at the base of a Swedish medical center tower. It's a gem: the pastries are large, cheap ($4.15), and delicious. I am slowly working my way through the varieties of breakfast and lunch pies, and I haven't found a bad one yet. Very tasty, flaky dough. They make a mean latte (Caffe Vita beans), and your coffee comes with a tasty little butter cookie. The proprietor looks pensive sometimes, giving the place a bit more Russian character. This is a cute little bakery however the Piroshkis aren't that great. The texture of the meat filling really throws me off, it has a grainy texture and strange mouth feel. I am not a huge fan of the dough/pastry either, its too doughy not flaky at all. They look pretty, have a huge selection of flavors and smell good but once you bite into one its rather disappointing. Happened to be near the museum I was visiting. Never had a perosky before but I got a cranberry and almond that is delicious. I am eating it now and I want cry it's so wonderful. The flavors are good and the pastry that encompasses it is really what makes it good. The buttery dough is not too heavy and offers a good counter-flavor to the filling. Service is good with the guy working behind the counter quickly heating up the baked concoctions in the oven or the microwave. I wanted a local experience and I got one--warm, buttery-soft dough with a hint of sweetness wrapped around perfectly seasoned fillings. My pick was the Brocolli, Cheese and Potato, a perfect balance of flavors that was filling but not as heavy as it might sound. Oh man, we found this place while we were hospitalized for various issues - like 10 years ago. The quality has been superb, EVERY single time, in that span of probably 20 visits at least. Doesn't seem like th price went up much either, with all the other places we eat at raising their prices, we wouldn't even notice because these piroshki are just so awesome. Always soooo fresh and flavorful. We recommend the ham and chesse as well as the bavarian sausage (spicy mustard is a wonderful addition to the sausage). The smell of fresh bread draws you into this place. Then you are greated by a very friendly staff. The food is exceptional. Wonderful for some comfort food Also very pretty to the eye. They are also very quick and busy. Ohhh and they offer a punch card (I've gone through quite a few in my years) They continue to make fresh batches through out the day, you can watch them make 'em. just ask whats in the oven and you will get a phenominal piroshki as fresh as you can get. I came to this location because I wanted to avoid the lines at the Pike Place location. The service was super friendly and attentive, however, I will say that they don't churn out nearly as many piroshkis as Pike Place, therefore, I immediately tasted the lack of freshness in each one (we split 2 and ordered 2 more to take home. This was the case for all 4 diff flavors). The filling was generous but the bread inside was not super fresh. Overall - def a great convenient Piroshky place- I was just expecting the ooey-gooey- soft and chewy texture of the ones like at Pike. Each one ranges from $5-7 depending on size/flavor. read more

Warning - I think the very friendly and completely unassuming Mr. Piroshki Guy is keeping a bunch of babushkas in his basement and forcing them to make delicious prioshki and pastry every morning. That's really the only plausible explanation for how good these are. In theory, I'm opposed to indentured babushkas. I've tried a lot of local piroshkis, and these guys don't have the best bread - but they do have the best fillings, and if you're going to eat a meal that's a filled bun, I fell like the weight of my decision should go to the filling. Very nice piroshki here. Hits the spot for a quick lunch on a chilly/wet winter day to break open the chewy, sweet case and see the steam rise from the savory filling. If you like your food, including all of your desserts, to taste like they're filled with strong tasting onions then this is your place. I bought a creampuff filled with Bavarian cream, I was so looking forward to sitting down with a cup of coffee in my backyard and enjoying watching the birds, boy was that a disaster ! It tasted like it has filled with onions, I couldn't taste anything but the onions. I also bought an order of shortbread cookies and they also tasted like they were baked with onions, they were also severely overcooked. Walked over here today with a friend for lunch, and was pleased by the speedy service, polite staff, and delicious food. I had a turkey and cheese stuffed piroshki and their beef barley soup (which was loaded with lean chunks of meat and vegetables that were perfectly cooked). The prices were quite reasonable and the food was filling. They have lots of choices, including some that did not contain meat. This is my favorite Piroshki place ever! They only get four stars, however, because the location is HORRIBLE for people who aren't walking by the store anyway! No parking for blocks, and then most of it isn't free. I'm coming from the Issaquah/Renton area for these wonderful little tasty snacks and it's such a pain to try to find a place to park, pay, etc. When I manage to make it here, I usually get the Salmon (for me) and Beef & Cheese (for the extremely picky other half.) I also love the pizza piroshki, chicken mushroom & rice, corned beef, spinach cheese & mushroom, heck -- ALL OF THEM ARE FABULOUS. And their borsht!!!!! Yum!!! Oh, how I wish you had closer stores to the Eastside or SODO. Or parking. The Cap Hill location (now closed) was marginally better. Underwhelming. I was passing this restaurant on my way home from the dentist, and thought I'd give it a try. I ordered the chicken with broccoli and cheese. I did not look closely at the name, so I excitedly assumed it was owned by the same ppl as Piroshky Piroshky as I ordered my two usual items potato cheese and salmon mouse. Both of these piroshkis tasted way more delicately delicious at the market. However, to be fair, I did not research ahead which of their piroshkis are known to be the best, so maybe some of their others taste better. read more

This place is quite literally a hole in the wall. If your trying to find Piroshki on Madison just look for the Jimmy Johns, Piroshki is right next door. It's a small shop with wall seating for about 8-10 people. The TV on the wall had Regis and Kelly playing, so I was thinking that's the height of the entertainment experience you will see here. As for the food I went for the smoked salmon and cream cheese. The salmon really didn't seem to be smoked, but it didn't take away from any of the flavor. There was at least 10-15 different flavors to choose from a nice selection. Piroshki also offers coffee and lattes. I ordered my usual 16oz Americano, and they give you a complementary coffee cookie. If in the area this site is way easier to get into then the Pike Place Location. read more
