I came here recently and got some dinner. I ordered the regular bowl with spicy tuna, tuna, and Hawaiian Albacore. The flavors weren't the best especially the albacore. I ended up in the bathroom a few times later in the evening too, and I'm pretty sure it was from this meal. The service was good and the restaurant was clean, but I probably won't be back.

Recently, I tried this poke spot in a hot spring day and it was a perfect in between running a bunch of weekend chores. Light, refreshing and delicious. I tried the medium / regular poke bowl (which was very large imo) and it came with 3 scoops of protein and all the toppings you wanted. I had 3 scoops of tuna and 1 scoop of salmon. The tuna had a better flavor and the salmon prices were a bit large for me, but it was still good. All the toppings and the spicy mayo & eel sauces combined really made for a flavor explosion. I really enjoyed my meal. Our server who helped us with the selections was great. She read my mind when it came to adding ginger as a topping and I said "Oh, don't add wasabi" even though she was gesturing to the ginger haha. She knew exactly what I meant; I thought she was super awesome and friendly. I wish I got her name, but overall the service was great. Only downside was that I didn't see a bathroom in the restaurant but I didn't look too closely, best to call the location or check yourself. Thanks for the great meal!

Not bad for a quick poke pickup. This shop is tucked away into a corner of a plaza where you'd really have to keep your eyes peeled for it. I wanted a poke bowl on my way home from work one day and decided to give this place a try. Since it was my first time here, I tried asking the worker for some recommendations on what to put on my bowl but she kept deflecting back to me saying it's whatever I wanted - which is totally valid but I was really hoping she'd tell me what the popular combos are as I normally don't get poke bowls. So I'd give service a 3.5/5. The restaurant is somewhat small so expect a more packed ambiance if it becomes busy. I got my food to go to be on the safe side. The food itself was pretty good. Like many poke bowl spots, it's one of those "build your own bowls" type of restaurants, which is totally fine and gives you the flexibility of choosing what you want. The fish itself didn't taste super fresh but it wasn't bad either. It was still overall good, so I will give that. Overall, I'd still recommend this spot. The food came out good and I'd have a meal with a friend here.

Poke bowl was a 10/10. I went with salmon, spicy salmon, and spicy tuna. I love that they give you the option of salad or rice. I went with 50/50. All the toppings you want. Let's see if I can remember all my toppings. Cucumber, edamame, jalapeño, crab, green onion, fried garlic, sesame seeds with ponzu, spicy mayo, and eel sauce. Overall, fish was seasoned well and fresh. I really enjoyed my bowl. Have been here a couple of times and will continue to come here. They offer regular and large bowls. Regular 3 scoops of fish. Large 5 scoops. They have all the fish and toppings all out. It's like subway. You order what you want. Person behind the counter was friendly and polite. Restaurant was clean. It's not very big, but they do have indoor as well as outdoor seating. They also offer Ramen. I want to say you just grab the bag you want and make it yourself. Under $7.

Simple, no-frill poke made with fresh ingredients. Nothing exceptional about the poke, and the portion-size is a bit on the small side, but it still hits the spot. Service is decent and the indoor dining area can accommodate about 15 customers. It's relatively clean.

It's been a while since my last visit. I'm happy they were open when searching for a last minute dinner spot because I was reminded how good this place is. It's a little pricey, however they really do give a lot. The protein scoops (esp spicy tuna) are worth the money. I can't forget to mention the quality...everything was fresh!!! They have unique sauce options. Personally, i'm basic with little to no sauce, but if you like spicy, this place has a variety of options. I am always a fan of "build your own" and seeing all ingredients in front of you. It's a clean a cute spot in a great location with plenty of parking!

The tuna was fresh and tasty! Also, got to love the option for a spam masubi. The person at the front-with glasses- was cool. The only complaint was that we couldn't get an extra empty bowl or plate to split our meal without being charged another bowl. That was ridiculous. Other than that, awesome place.

Very good food! The fish was very fresh and service wonderful. I've been here 3 times already and enjoyed the tuna, salmon, tofu, and yellowtail. My only complaint is that the serving scoops should be a bit bigger. I will be coming here at least once a week. read more

I enjoyed the protein selections and toppings. I ordered the regular bowl with salad. For my three scoops I got Hawaiian albacore, Hawaiian tuna, and Hawaiian salmon with spicy ponzu sauce. It was delicious, and the portion was just right. However, to use the restroom, they let people walk through the kitchen. It doesn't seem right. Regardless, the food was tasty, and I'd return if I was in the area. read more

I rarely leave Yelp reviews, but I love this Poke place and think it deserves a shoutout. I've had poke at many other places in Long Beach, and this one blows them all out of the water as far as I'm concerned. Tuna is always the freshest. The place never smells "fishy" -- a pet peeve of mine. The employees are incredibly friendly and generous with their portions. They have a ton of toppings. And the prices are great. Plus: They have Spam Musubi! I hope they stay in the neighborhood forever. read more

I go about once a week. Poke bowls are really good. I typically get a large which comes with 5 scoops of fish (not including crab meat). Large is only $2 more than regular, which comes with only 3 scoops of fish. Extra scoop of fish is $2.50 ea. Love the salmon and Hawaiian style Tuna. Friendly staff. read more

They may need more staff to help the servers with drink refills and to check in more frequently. From the moment we walked in, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The food was a 10/10. We ordered the skillet (highly recommend!), pancakes, an açaí bowl, mushroom coffee, and a matcha. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. We did have a small issue during our visit, but the owner, Jesse, handled it with so much kindness and professionalism. It's rare to find such genuine customer service these days, and they truly went above and beyond. Overall, we loved our experience and will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

I had the pleasure of visiting Poke Kai in Long Beach and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. Located in a small shopping center, parking was easy to find upon arrival. However, I should note that the seating is very minimal, with only 4 tables available to eat your poke. Poke Kai offers a variety of set Poke bowls, but the real fun is in ordering your own custom bowl. They have three sizes to choose from - small, medium, and large. I opted for the large bowl, which came with a generous portion of rice, salad, or a combination of both. The highlight of my poke bowl was definitely the selection of proteins. I went with Hawaiian salmon, shrimp, and octopus, and they were all incredibly fresh. Each bite was deliciousness. To top it off, I added the Kai special sauce, which complemented the ingredients perfectly. The staff at Poke Kai are always cheerful and attentive, making the dining experience even better. Their friendly service added to the overall enjoyable atmosphere. My only suggestion for improvement would be to increase the seating capacity, as it can get quite crowded during peak hours. Nonetheless, I will definitely be returning to Poke Kai soon. If you're a fan of poke bowls and appreciate quality ingredients, I highly recommend giving Poke Kai a try. It's been quite some time since I last visited Poke Kai, and today I had a craving for their delectable poke. Conveniently, there's plenty of parking available, and the bowls are reasonably priced considering the generous portions. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the inviting atmosphere and ample seating. The staff were exceptionally friendly and generous with their portions, which added to the positive experience. I opted for a large bowl, which includes five scoops of protein. I chose their Hawaiian-style salmon, tuna, and albacore--all incredibly fresh and flavorful. The toppings were abundant, and I made sure to try every single one, each adding a unique texture and taste to the bowl. The highlight for me was the Kai Special sauce, which brought a perfect balance of savory and tangy flavors. The spicy mayo added just the right amount of heat, enhancing the overall taste. The combination of fresh, high-quality ingredients and excellent service makes Poke Kai a standout spot. I'll definitely be returning to this top poke destination in my area. read more

I went in because I was craving poke and I was in the area. I walked in and got in line where it said to order, all while adhering to the social distancing protocol. After waiting probably 5 minutes to be acknowledged, the person behind the counter asked if I was with the person standing 6 feet away from me. I said no. She said that I needed to stand out in the dining room and wait. I apologized and said that I was just following the sign that was up on the wall, that said "ORDER HERE" in big bold letters. She then pointed to a sign that looked like somebody scribbled something in pen on a piece of copy paper that said "stand here" with a haphazardly drawn arrow on it pointing down. The some random customer said, pointing to the sign, "right there, didn't you see it" I said no. Hungry and now annoyed, I walked out. So, I don't know how the food is, but the service is less than desirable. read more

I've been coming here for years. It used to be a weekly favorite not anymore. Why? Read on... First, it was popular to have both a rice AND tortilla chip base with chips on the side. Then that was not allowed. Then the protein scoops became less generous. Then the bowl sizes got smaller. Then the avocado slices were reduced by at least half. All of this was, except for the chip thing, NOT mentioned by the employee or by signage. I consider that a less-than-honest business practice and it makes one wonder what else has been done that is not observable to the customer. One would think that all this corner-cutting would stop the price from being raised? NOPE. At least that is honest. Everything else is good though in terms of quality, cleanliness, and employee conduct. I am patiently awaiting for some Poke competitor to open up in the area. read more

I was here last December while visiting a friend and since I am in the area again, I decided to come and eat here again. This time the service was even better. When the employee scooped my brown rice, he asked me if that was enough and offered me to give more if I pleased. That was so nice since I was super hungry. I wanted to try something spicy so I got the special Kai sauce. It was spicy but so addicting! Onion and garlic flakes add a nice crunch to everything. The employee also asked if he wanted me to top the bowl with more sauce. Some people on here are saying the portion sizes are small, but I don't understand what that is all about. I was so full. Plus they even ask you if you want more when they scoop your food. So happy to have healthy delicious options. read more

A little hit or miss nowadays. What I mean by that is that sometimes you get people that give you massive scoops and sometimes you get people who give you just the scoop and swipe off any excess... They used to have avocado, but they got rid of that while keeping the price the same, they used to give massive amounts of sea weed salad and now like I mentioned... unless you get someone who doesn't care and plops a ton on, you will get a melon baller size portion. Came here Saturday morning I just have nothing to say but I love this place there are very generous about portion all the fresh vegetables are always available services fantastic! I am so glad Poke kai is around my neighborhood. There fish is so fresh with lots of variety of topping Every time I come here services fantastic! Can wait to go back again! Not sure what happened, but haven't had this in a few months and man now that I had it yesterday it was terrible. I typically get 3 scoops Hawaiian salmon and 2 scoops Hawaiian Squid. The Squid tasted so funky and like rubber, normally it is pretty good. What happened???? This sucks! need to find another poke place, so disappointed! read more
