I'm obsessed with the poke tuna salad bowl. It is SO fresh. This isn't necessarily a place where I would come to dine in, just an order at the counter spot, but since I work nearby it's perfect. To get such fresh tuna from a take out place is rare. There are some dine in restaurants that don't offer seafood this good. I come here at least twice a month and it is fabulous every single time. This place is definitely small with tight parking so togo would be best. I got the regular bowl with brown rice, 2 salmon and 1 tuna, with a bit of spicy mayo, and everything else except onions. Seaweed salad isn't included and is extra charge. The amount of sauce is adjustable if you let them know, or you could get it separately. The hot chili sauce is really good; I stole some of that from my friend to add some kick to my poke. The fish is cut into smaller pieces here but it's still enough. They don't stuff the bowl like other places either. Service was nice though. The server was very accommodating and the cashier was very nice. Overall, the poke bowl was good and enough for me. BEST POKI AND SUSHI EVER!!!! This is by far the best place I have ever had. Not only is it incredibly fresh and tasty, but the service is unmatched. The owner and his staff are fantastic people that treat you very well. On top of all of that, there is no one that can compare to the food. The poki bowls are very big because they do not skimp out on giving you food. The fish is so fresh and so are all of the toppings. The sauces are exquisite and compliment the bowls very well. It is also a great price for how much food you get. The sushi is unbelievable as well. The rolls are made with the perfect amount of rice, and there is always a ton of fish on top as well as ingredients in the middle. You not only get a great bang for your buck with the massive portions of sushi, but the sushi is better than any fine dining establishment that I have had(and I have had a lot of sushi). I usually order the Regular white rice bowl with extra cucumber and 2 scoops of salmon and 1 scoop of yellowtail with the sesame shoyu sauce and just a bit of the hot chili. The poki bowl was really good! The flavor from their sauces was really good in comparison to other poki places. I did a mix of the mayo and sesame shoyu and got salmon, octopus, and tuna. Also tried the amigo wrap and did not like the taste of that. It was too sweet for my liking. Definitely would go back for the bowls. read more

This trend can only be good, if they have good food, and this place has good Poki. This is a great service to this side of Orange. The other spot, on the other side of the freeway couple exits north that I am famously in love with, and is my favorite Poke spot is Poke District. This place cannot outwit my favorite, but it does have some similarities. One that that I do like is that they both have frequency cards. They want you to come back and I always want to come back for a free one after ten meals. *Amigo Burrito - this is the surprise item that I didn't think would be that great, but is probably a favorite of mine because of the flavor they put into it. It's decently size and fun to have a sushi burrito now and then as compared to eating it Poke bowl Style. This is a spicier crabmeat, from the regular one that they offer. Then it has pieces of what I think are crawfish or small shrimp. It definitely does add to the goodness of the burrito. This is definitely a try. **Poke Bowl - This has great affordability because it comes with Miso. I always like added value to my meal. I got the 5 scoop(Large) and I got Spicy Tuna and Salmon. Then I added spicy Mayo to it. It definitely had me going for the Miso to cool my mouth down. The quantity is good and quality is AOK. This place has overall great value, quantity and quality. I feel bad giving 1 star so I gave 3 but unfortunately my husband and I had a frustrating experience. My husband's bowl was only half filled because instead of the employee refilling the ingredients to be served he scraped the left overs from each tin to barely fill my husband's bowl. I had to ask them to refill their food supply before putting my bowl together which seems like something I shouldn't have to request. At least the portion that was given did taste good. We ended up having to go get my husband more food from somewhere else because of the small portion $30 later :/ unfortunate. read more

Mmmm Poki, I'm so glad these kinds of places are popping up all over now because it was really hard to find before. While there are tons of locations to choose from, come give this little restaurant in Orange a try! A friend had bookmarked this place to try so after running an errand we decided to come give this place a try. It was preeeetty close to closing time but a call into the restaurant got them to stay open until we got there. I think that deserves 5 stars right there. They could have easily turned us away, after all it was only a couple more bowls so it wouldn't have been a whole lot of profit for them, but they didn't and that's enough to prompt me to write a review. Bruce greeted us when we walked in and took the time to serve us; at no point did I feel rushed by him. He answered any questions we had and made some great suggestions (mix the sesame shoyu and hot chili sauce, dooo it) The portions were fairly large and the fish was fresh considering it was the end of the day! Another poke option in Orange! The staff is very friendly and you get a stamp card for a free bowl after buying 9, not bad at all. The place is very small so it's definitely good for take out. On my last visit, I got 3 scoops ($8.5) salmon, tuna and octopus. Toppings are free and include crabmeat, cucumber, avocado, green onions, etc. The 5 scoops bowl is definitely worth the additional $2. With the 3 scoops I was ok but not very full. Not sure if it's because we went on a Sunday evening right before closing but the quality of the fish is definitely not as fresh as other places. It tastes fine but it does not melt in your mouth if you know what I mean. Due to convenience, I would probably be a regular here but for better quality, I would drive a bit further. read more

It had been a few years since I had been there but the reviews have been pretty good so I thought I'd give it another shot. I'd have to say I'm not impressed. The large size is about the same as a medium at most other places. They were pretty skimpy on the toppings too. But the worst part was the fish had a slimy coating on it. It didn't smell bad or I wouldn't have eaten it. And the fish were cut into really small pieces. Really good poke has large pieces of fish. But unfortunately after coming here for the past 3 years I'm going to have to stop giving them my business. The portions here are INSANELY small. Every time I've come they take some of the rice out of my bowl and give me less. I've never seen them do that to anyone else and I've even see other customers come with punch cards, something that i've never been offered even as a regular customer. The service from the owners is not great and they never act like they remember me or my family even though we come often. The regular size poke bowl which is under $10 comes with three scoops of your choice of fish and an unlimited combination of toppings and sauces all made to your liking. My order: Step 1.) Choose your base - I chose salad Step 2.) Choose your fish - I chose spicy tuna/salmon/octopus Step 3.) Choose toppings - seaweed salad/avocado/masago/pickled ginger/wasabi/& so many more! Step 4.) Sauce - a choice between 4 different options! Once I finished choosing my fish and sauce they combined the two and actually mixed it up in a super ate bowl THEN added it on top of the salad to be later accompanied with the "toppings". I love the mixing of the sauce and fish because it infuses those yummy tastes and makes a real Poki salad rather than me dipping or mixing all that stuff on my own later and ruin the bowl aesthetics. There are poki places popping up left and right, but since this one is on my way home, I figured I would check it out. Poki Ya follows in the sushi style of poki, more a deconstructed roll than a Hawaiian style poki. You build it yourself, like Subway of Chipotle, picking your base options, fish, sauce and toppings. The fish was fine. I got there late and they were out of regular tuna, but the chopped spicy tuna was good. The other fish was also good, nothing great, but since you are getting so much seasoning, it does not make sense to use super premium sashimi. The sauces were just OK. I had the spicy blended with the spicy mayo, and then added a bit of the eel sauce. the spicy just was a little bland. Other than hot, there was not much to say about it. The guy was nice, and the price was good, $10.50 for 5 scoops of fish on top of the fixings. It was good enough to bring me back when I am in the mood poki and don't want to travel too far. read more
