We had a large group and everyone's orders were perfect, the food was good. The people were nice and the service was good

First off, we were welcomed warmly as soon as we entered. It was a large party of 10 on a Thursday night. Awesome service (from start to finish)! Our server was polite, helpful, quick and did well with anticipating our needs. This might be the most true to Italy pizza l've had in the US. They don't over sauce, over cheese, over topping you to death, it's simple pizza that lets the quality of the tomatoes and crust shine through. Very cozy atmosphere, spacious, clean and well-lit. General manager was very friendly. This was an incredible night to celebrate my husband's birthday with a fam. Can't wait to go back! read more

Wanted to try this new place & had high hopes because high ratings... though only 9 reviews at the time. Well, the pizza took a long time. The server apologized about the delay before we said anything. Service was great! Unfortunately, great service doesn't make up for not so great food. The pizza dough was so paper thin, you had to eat it with a fork. Imagine a wet piece of paper with a thin layer of toppings. The pizza crust was burnt. Much of the pizza tasted burnt. You shouldn't have to go get more food after leaving because you're still hungry. To top it off, the bill was wrong because the prices stored in the handheld machines didn't match the menu. Our bill was $30 over what it should have been. Check your bill carefully... it was corrected only after we pointed it out. read more

Glad they opened up a location near me in Chantilly. Never been a big Neapolitan pizza person, but this place is descent. Pizza was good, thin and greasy. How i prefer my pizza. The mozzarella bread was phenomenal. The service was subpar considering I wasn't checked on1 time after my food came and only had 1 napkin, and had to make my drink last my whole meal. We love Pupatella's in Merrifield so we were very excited to try the Chantilly location on 6/13 as it's closer in distance however it was pretty disappointing. We ordered the Mimosa pizza and the Meatball Pizza. The Mimosa had probably five small pieces of ham and the meatball pizza barely had any cheese, and no ricotta cheese as far as I could tell. Seemed like ingredients were running low. We also asked for them more well done but did not expect the bottom of the pizza to be partially black. Both pizzas fell really short of expectations in comparison to what we are used to receiving at other locations. The quality just was not up to par for Pupatella's. Also the temperature in the restaurant was incredibly hot due to the bar 'garage' window being completely open, which made it so uncomfortable and not enjoyable to have dinner. The margaritas were also mid and had no salt/sugar rim which is not a big deal but would have been nice. Overall, I think we'll stick to the further Merrifield location. read more

Did some of you just fall out of a coconut tree? This place is pretty good. For those of you complaining that the pizza isn't as good as your favorite NY slice, or that it was so thin that *gasp!* you had to use a KNIFE AND FORK, I think you missed the context. This is Neapolitan (DOC) pizza, including dough made of water, flour, yeast, and salt only, and being less than 3mm thick. It also had a nice slight char to it. The pizza margherita and sausage arancini were both good. I also had their limoncello martini which was very good. The prices are alright, but I recommend you go during their weekday happy hour between 4-6pm. They seem to be over-staffed. I counted 8 in the front including the bar, the manager, 3 at the pizza station/oven, and at least 1, if not 2, in the back kitchen. At 5pm, vs a total of 8 dine-in customers. I hope this place lasts and doesn't collapse under the weight of its labor costs. read more

After receiving an offer for a free pizza in the mail, I decided to give this restaurant another try. I ordered a custom pizza with tomato sauce, imported mozzarella, meatballs, sausage, and prosciutto di parma, as a takeout. The toppings were generous and the taste was excellent. I was delighted. Based on this, I decided to return and order another one, exactly the same, during the weekend. However, this time, the toppings were noticeably less (the meatballs were scant, the cheese deficient, and the sausage not nearly enough) and, if this was not enough (no pun intended); the taste of the ingredients was overwhelmed by salt. I value consistency in a restaurant. While the friendly service and the beauty of the interior cannot be faulted, I need to keep the rating at two stars, and will not return because I have no way of knowing whether the next pizza should be rated five stars or only two. read more

Have ordered delivery from here on several occasions. 5 star for quality of food, but 3 star for cost and value. So I would give this 3.5/5 if that was possible. Growing up in Connecticut has made me a tough critic for pizza. It has been very tough to find good thin crust pizza in NOVA and this place definitely makes it well, and has toppings such as anchovies that many competitors don't carry. Unfortunately I found it frustrating that the build your own pizza seemed to price gouge for the toppings. Normal cheeses range from 1-5$, and just adding pepperoni costs 3-5$ as well. I asked for anchovies and I could count on one hand how many anchovies actually appeared on the pizza. The pizza is also so thin that it actually falls apart pretty easily so it is hard to eat without creating a mess. read more

We love the onion tart here! And the crust...hands down the best crust ever! My husband likes the Margherita pizza but the onion tart is ma absolute fav! Pizza is pretty costly for the size but we go during the happy hour so it's reasonable.
