    Pork chop rice
    Ann C.

If you are craving Taiwanese, fast food, QQ Kitchen is definitely a place to check out. Friendly service and yummy food. We ordered their pork, chop rice, fried fish, rice, and popcorn chicken. I love that they're rice. Dishes includes a green tea or black tea. Prices are definitely reasonable. Check this Mom and Pop place out.

Is been over 12 years since I been here and I keep trying to remember the place and finally found it!!!! Exactly like I remember good food ... Ok service, but it's a mom and pop operation so I understand they were so busy with to go and pickup orders... There isn't a ton of sewing y in there maybe 3 booths for 4 and 4 for 2 people .. Overall exactly what I remember and they have a very large Vegetarian selection on the menu

I've been on a Taiwanese food binge lately and have been searching everywhere for some good, authentic Taiwanese dishes. This little mom-and-pop, hole-in-the-wall spot really hit the mark. The food tastes just like what I'd expect from back home or from the night markets in Taiwan. I tried the stinky tofu (a must-have for any true Taiwanese food lover), the pork chop rice, and a few other dishes--and every bite was delicious, flavorful, and comforting. The portions are generous without being overwhelming, and the seasoning is on point. The owners are super friendly and welcoming, which makes the dining experience feel even more like you're visiting family. The restaurant shares a plaza with other shops, so there's plenty of parking available, which is a big plus. A couple of tips: it's best to bring cash, as not everything is set up for cards. Also, they do have a restroom on site, which is always nice for a small place like this. Overall, this is the kind of spot you want to keep coming back to--and the kind of hidden gem you almost don't want to share so it stays special. Definitely one of my new go-to Taiwanese comfort food spots!

Been on the lookout for the best Taiwanese pork chop rice in the area and found this spot on Yelp. Looked pretty legit, it's been around for 15+ years from what I heard. I called in my order for pickup and they threw in a free green or red tea, which was a nice bonus. The pork chop rice was solid. Not the best I've had, but still good. The pork chop isn't battered so it's not crispy, but it had good flavor. I liked the meat sauce they drizzle over the rice. The green tea was a bit sweet, but hey it was free. Overall, pretty solid spot. I'd come back if I was craving this kind of pork chop rice again.

I drove by QQ occasionally and finally had a chance to try its food. I ordered the pork chop rice, which was very tasty. The pork chop was tender and full of flavor. It comes with a free drink (you can choose between an iced green tea or red tea). The shop is a bit small, but the service is attentive. Although I got the food to go, the lady (I believe she is the owner) still kept me updated on my order.

My parents used to take me here all the time 10-15years ago! Their tea jelly is really great and refreshing, and so is their shaved ice for the summer. I made a lunchtime phone order for a pork belly rice with brown rice, and I skipped the free green/black tea bc the worker said they add sugar to it. (If you like sweet, then go ahead and get it! I've just become a grandma who does no sugar these days lol.) Picked it up super fast, and the lady who rang me up was really nice! And ohhhh my god the pork belly fat was rendered SOOOO soft and the meat was so tender ... ugh, so yummy. You know how sometimes you get pork belly and it's a little tough or gelatinous? not the case here at all !! My meal came out to 13.16, solid for a good lunch!

I've been coming here since I was young because they have a mirror vegetarian menu and a lot of authentic Taiwanese homestyle dishes. The price was also super affordable with big portions back then. Since childhood they've gone full vegetarian at the encouragement of the owner's temple then back to only half vegetarian. During COVID, they were only take-out and I am SO happy they have dine-in again! They definitely prefer cash only and it is a small mom and pop with the same staff from years ago. It's nice to see a familiar face. Since an owner change, some recipes were tweaked but overall it's very similar. One of my favorite things to get is the mushroom omelette that is a parallel to the oyster omelette street food. I also really like to get stir fried udon. The vegetarian beef noodle soup is also hard to fine at other vegetarian restaurants and is very flavorful. Shaved ice is only 5 dollars (fyi condensed milk counts as one of the four topping choices). The staff isn't super friendly but they are busy trying to do their job as cashier, help with dishes. There is a station on the side where you can get your own water and extra utensils, plates, cups if needed. No frills just nostalgic, comfort food.

Old hole in the wall, no A/C 4 tables but tell me where you can get a 4 item shaved ice for $5 in today's world. Don't expect glamour or great service just 2 aunties and 1 uncle behind the counter.

Is it just me or does anyone else get bothered by cash only places that charge tax? I guess I'm getting more sensitive to the rising cost of food. I mean, you only take cash for obvious benefits and force customers to pay tax because you can mark up the food cost. Asking customers to play by the rules but you're not? If you're only taking cash, shouldn't you not charge tax?! Is it just me? Popcorn chicken 5/10 Honey lemon 8/10 $10 for popcorn chicken in a small Togo container. Not much value here. Chicken was bland. Got some garlic flavor, but very little of anything else. Probably won't be back.

    Slash ice!

Great yummy place if you're looking for Taiwanese food and slash ice treats! Hidden gem in San Gabriel valley must try!

It's been years since we ate here. Based on my previous review, the service wasn't the best. But now during the never ending pandemic, we decided to come and support them again. As of January 2022, they're still not open for dine-in. But since we're less than 10 minutes away, it's no trouble for us to order take-out. Recently we came here twice in a week. First time we only ordered the Sausage Rice. Generous portion of sliced sausage lay in a bed of rice mixed with minced meat. Served with marinated egg and tofu with some cabbage in the side. Great flavor and nice portions. We came back a few days later and tried the pork chop rice, pork & chicken rice; both came with marinated egg & tofu with minced meat on the rice. Both were delicious. The pork was more tender than the chicken however. Also got a Sacha squid stewed noodles. Apparently this is an authentic Taiwanese dish, and it's my first time trying it. It has a thick, rich broth with a nice sacha flavor, goes very well with noodles or vermicelli. The recent dishes we ordered were all tasty, and this has made me a fan of QQ Kitchen. And supporting a small family business is just a big plus on top of the hood food. Notes: *Large parking lot, so that shouldn't be a problem *Rice dishes comes with a drink; green or red tea. Both are sweetened and served on ice. *Cash only

I really liked the doughy, dense texture of the noodles, although the egg was pretty salty and the beef was a little tough. As…read moresomeone born and raised in Xi'an, the flavors here felt genuinely authentic, and I already know I'll be back. We ordered the Youpo Noodles with Beef Brisket, Marinated Beef Sandwich, and Cumin Lamb Sandwich. The marinated beef sandwich was the standout. They absolutely nailed the execution, from the tender, flavorful meat to the texture of the bread. I would come back for this alone. It immediately took me back to eating rou jia mo from a street cart while walking around Xi'an, which is about the highest compliment I can give it. The noodles were freshly handmade, wonderfully springy, and completely soaked with flavor. The beef brisket made them even more satisfying. The cumin lamb sandwich was the only item I felt slightly on the fence about. The filling was good, but I personally wanted a little more seasoning and a stronger cumin flavor. The interior is spacious and clean, service was fast and painless, and there is plenty of parking in the lot. With so many restaurant choices around, I really regret choosing this one. There was absolutely no greeting or explanation when I walked in. I assumed I had to order by scanning the QR code, but the cell reception inside was poor, so I spent quite a while trying unsuccessfully to place my order. It wasn't until I saw another customer walk up to the counter and speak to a staff member that I realized I could order there, so I got in line and did the same. The restaurant itself is very small, and you basically find your own seat. Water, napkins, and disposable utensils are all self-service, and after eating, you're expected to place your dishes at a window on the side. The front door was left slightly open -- it seemed like it might be broken -- and there were flies flying around inside. That was very unappetizing and made the whole dining experience uncomfortable. Since this was my first time here and I hadn't read any reviews beforehand, I ordered one of my favorite types of noodles. Unfortunately, it was terrible. It was overwhelmingly salty with no depth of flavor at all. The best way I can describe it is noodles tossed in dark soy sauce -- just salty and one-dimensional. From the environment to the service to the food, the entire experience really turned me off. There are so many restaurants to choose from, including plenty serving similar food, that I honestly don't think I'd be willing to come back and try anything else here.

The beef was tender, the curry had a fragrant savory depth, and the soft-boiled egg added a nice richness and creaminess that tied everything together. One of my favorite parts was the condiment station -- being able to add fresh cilantro, green onions, ginger, togarashi, lime, and other toppings lets you really personalize the flavors and brighten up the bowl. My only minor notes: the curry leaned a little saltier than my personal preference, so a lighter touch on the seasoning would make it even more balanced.
