Just had the worst experience I've encountered in the North End in the past 40 years. This place is an absolute tourist trap. We sat and were greeted immediately for drinks. They came quickly and then we ordered a Caesar salad for an app and two pizzas for our meal. We no sooner got the salad put in front of us and the pizzas arrived. I was pissed and hate being rushed, it ruined our dinner. But then I had only eaten one slice and the waiter asked if we wanted boxes. I was like, are you fucking serious? At that point I had enough and told him to wrap it up. We both had full drinks and the waiter came back and set our bill on the table. How about "would you like coffee, dessert, can I get you anything else?" My wife and I could not get out of there quick enough. Not great. Most certainly a tourist stop. The food was... mediocre. The pizza was black, burnt, gross on the undercarriage. It was also incredibly greasy and undercooked on top. The calamari was okay, way too salty. The ambiance was not great, way too tight, people kept bumping into the back of my chair, impossible to have an intimate moment. Use to be one of my favorite restaurants in the North End. But not anymore. Would always order a margarita and a cosmo. Bartender didn't chill the cosmo glass and the drinks tasted totally different. You could tell the alcohol was cheapened. The presentation of food also wasn't the same. The bartender ended up telling us they were under new management. Finally, their espresso martinis were so delicious. We saw one being made and decided it wasn't even worth ordering. So sad. read more

If you're heading to the North End, Quattro is definitely one of the places you should visit. We came on Thanksgiving as it was one of the only places open but certainly would come again. The ambiance here is unmatched! It's a very intimate setting and tables are pretty close to each other but this didn't bother us whatsoever. Service was great even though it was a holiday. The house bread came with olives and BY FAR the best pesto I've ever had in my life. So fresh and clearly recently made. Craving it now as I write this! Paired well with the meatball madness appetizer. For our entrees with both got the gnocchi. Was a little bummed I couldn't change the sauce but how it was prepared was just as delicious. A very filling entree and easily could have been split because we had lots of left overs. Service, food, and definitely the environment made this dinner an exceptional experience. We walked lots, so our goal was to buy and take home food back at the hotel. However, winding around the blocks of Italian restaurants, there was only a small handful that offered takeout. This was one of them, Quattro. We ordered at the entrance of the restaurant, and they accepted card. The wait time wasn't long, maybe less than ten minutes. All the orders we made arrived at the same time, and they were packaged in separate boxes. We carried these back to the hotel, which wasn't too far from the location. They weren't piping hot anymore, but the packages kept them intact. The staff gave us some utensils, and we asked for an extra set. I ate the ravioli first because it looked like it will cool faster. This was very good, the sauce and the pasta were balanced well, that one taste note was too high or missing. There was a wholly round flavor that perfected the dish. Also, me, preferring pasta over pizza, I really enjoyed the ravioli. The pizza was delicious too! I don't eat pizza often, but I'm glad it turned out to be a really good slice on the day when I was slightly craving for one. First, the crust was strong to withhold all the sauce that was spread on top of the pizza. There was no salty aftertaste, so the post-eating time felt purely content. read more

Honestly one of my favorite restaurants in The North End. This is the perfect place to go if you want a quality Italian lunch/dinner at a good price point. Every time I've been the food has been great. The pizzas are a good size to split between two people, with another side or salad. The best thing to do is ask about their specials because they are always excellent. My only concern would be that it is tightly packed in the restaurant, but not a big deal. read more

Nope! Don't bother. Came here yesterday with 3 friends for a special event. We had made a 5 PM reservation weeks ago. We were rushed from the minute we sat down. Our waitress was very snappy with us and brisk from the beginning. We each ordered an entree and a drink. Food was fine not great. Drinks were okay. We hadn't even been there for an hour and we were told we had to leave because there was a party of 14 waiting to be seated ... My friends were finishing their drinks when the staff began to point at us. I asked to speak to a manager ( first time in my lifetime) . I said we were frustrated by the situation. I stated we hadn't even been there an hour and our waitress was snatching things off the table and left the check. We weren't even offered coffee or dessert menus! He said "what would you like me to do?" with such an attitude. When we were walking out the waitress told the giant party of 14 (who came out to eat at a tiny restaurant on a Sunday night in the North End) that we wouldn't leave! We spent well over $200 in less than an hour to be treated like garbage. Don't waste your time!! Such a huge disappointment. There's so many other fabulous restaurants in the area. TLDR: Okay-salty food, and discriminatory service. We got a reservation for 10 at 6:15pm and they asked us to wait five more minutes since a party is about to leave. This five minutes turned into waiting just under an hour before we got our table. We do understand we're a big group of 10 and it's a small restaurant, and they're tryna make it work, so we patiently understood and waited outside their door in the 30 degree cold weather. The group before us was also a large group and they sat in there for quite a while just chilling and the servers basically let them take their sweet time. Again, which is fine, until the discriminatory part below. Additionally, it was one of our friend's birthday, and we saw the table next to us got served a birthday cake and the servers sang for them, which was sweet. We also told them it's one of our friend's birthday. Our server was nice and originally said no problem they can do it. Later, the server apologetically told us their manager actually said no to doing the birthday song and cake for us, and that we're taking up too many of their seats and "encouraged" us to leave by telling us they're gonna give us our check soon since they got other folks waiting on us. That seemed super unfair to us, because we also ended up waiting for about an hour due to the big group before us, even though we had a reservation. We clearly noticed the group before us taking their sweet time as we checked in with the front server twice, but we still waited patiently in the cold outside. And we were in the restaurant for not even an hour (7:05-8pm). We didn't want to make folks wait long either which is why we tried eating super fast after they served the food, but we just wanted a nice and quick birthday thing for our friend equally as much as other folks received. They didn't have a problem serving the folks next to us. But we're basically being rushed out. We noticed we were the only Asian Americans in the restaurant and the manager would walk around seemingly checking in on other folks but didn't even talk or look at us. We felt the overall experience was pretty discriminatory and the fact they said they could do one thing then changed their mind on us specifically was quite apparent and clear. Food wise, everything looked good but was pretty salty -- all of us drank lots of water near the end of the meal and after. Pizzas were overhyped. I would say the pastas were good if I had to choose between their pizza and pasta. I liked the mushroom truffle risotto (their week's special). Overall, due to this unfortunate discriminatory experience, I definitely do not recommend this place. read more

While our overall experience was enjoyable, I feel like more attention could have been given to our table. Stopped by at the bar for a late dinner with a friend on a Saturday and they were one of the few places that still had their kitchen open at around 10PM. Got the pistachio martini (pictured here) and split a stagioni pizza. I have to say, the north end gets extremely crowded on Saturday nights. I been to the north end many times, and this particular night, I never experienced it so busy. I went to practically every restaurant in the north end, and every place required a "reservation." Most of these places didn't even give a time or day to even check if there were any cancelled reservations to serve us. Happy to say, this place did, and I'm so glad. The food was great!
