The food at Quattro was good. However, the service wasn't that great. We sat by the window, which was nice with the windows opened. However, the two parties on both ends of us, who arrived 5-10 minutes after us, received full service before we did. The menu had very minimal descriptions for those not familiar with the options. We asked the waiter for some explanations of listed items and got little to no explanation, as if we were expected to know? So, we went on Quattro's Instagram page to get some idea of what was on their menu. The drink was tasty, but definitely over priced. And the food, left much to be desired. There was little to no flavor in the dish. I ate as much as I could and then boxed the rest. Terrible. Really, probably the worst meal I've ever had in Boston and I visit Boston a lot. We had high hopes because we enjoy going to the North End for Italian and this place is one of several owned by a certain individual I don't remember the name of. I had the chicken parm which was tough, dry chicken smothered with tomato sauce and covered by cheese. It came with some pasta on the side but that didn't help. Others had the lobster ravioli which was way too salty. Service was equally terrible. Our server never came back to check on us once. After we finished one of the servers noticed none of us had any water so she said she'll be right back with some water. Never saw her again. It took a long time to get the check and to get our card back. Not a happy place. Servers just did not look happy working there. The place is festive though. Disappointing Service, Mediocre food The food here was just okay, expected more for the hype, but the service left a lot to be desired. From the moment we sat down, it felt like we were being rushed. Our server only checked on us once, and when I looked up to ask a question, she had already walked away. What made it worse was that she seemed to go out of her way to cater to the table next to us, who happened to be speaking another language. Ironically, after we got up to find our server and asked for the check in another language, she suddenly became more attentive and tried to cater to us. It left us feeling diminished and unimportant up until that moment. Unfortunately, the poor service overshadowed the meal. Would not recommend this place. The spaghetti at first seemed small and perhaps bland but after that first bite, our taste buds exploded with flavor - the sauce: rich and complex, the pasta: perfect al dente, the meatball: juicy and hearty. Incredible balance. Since we were sitting at the bar which had the open kitchen view, we literally saw our pizza assembled, baked, and served all in front of our eyes. I understand this is done by the service but in the end it's a bad experience with no recourse. Perhaps don't let bike/scooters deliver without a bag to keep pizza hot. Made a reservation for Christmas dinner for myself and a friend. This is part of a larger restaurant Group that includes Umbria which I patronized for the Thanksgiving holiday. I love Italian so why not try another one of their restaurants. We were pleasantly greeted by the hostess and seated promptly. I will say this is a smaller, quaint location so the tables are kind of close in proximity to one another throughout the restaurant. All of the staff appeared very attentive but I will say they were bumping into one another at times when delivering drinks and food. There is an abundant wine selection and I didn't know what to go with, so I simply chose the first Cabernet on the menu list which was great! Service was okay, it felt a little rushed at times which could have been due to the holiday rush. I went with the lobster ravioli and my friend chose an alfredo type dish. Not much lobster in the ravioli but it was tasty and I did enjoy the flavor of it. The fried mozzarella is cooked within this soft buttery bread, which was actually pretty tasty as well. My friends Alfredo was just okay, not something we'd order again. I probably would return on a weekday to check out their pizza as this is primarily what they are known for. read more

We keep coming back here, even after we've moved away! I love that Quattro is such a chill delicious spot, and becomes basically open-air when they open all the giant windows in the summer. We had planned on dinner, but it ended up being lunch time when we made it to Hanover Street. Our plan was to go to Bricco, but the owner was in the doorway and informed us it didn't open until 4:00. He recommended we go to the sister restaurant across the street and a few doors down called Quattro. I would have loved to walk back and thank him for the recommendation because we LOVED IT! We walked in and were seated right away. Our waiter was Constantin and he immediately greeted us, joked around and made us feel right at home. He got us beverages and some fresh bread with Olive Oil and pesto. I couldn't pass up on the special Mom's Chicken and Rice Soup. My wife got a spoon too and we both said it was the best chicken soup we have ever had. Small pieces of Carrot, Summer Squash & Zucchini combined with some large pieces of chicken and baby spinach in a stunning broth. The Shrimp Limoncello was also superb! Shrimp was cooked perfectly and laid on top of a bed of spinach and cherry tomatoes. Everything was soaked in an amazing mixture of limoncello, butter, garlic and herbs. The flavor knocked my socks off and I have to try and replicate this at home. Finally my wife ordered the Soppressata Pizza. The pizza was perfection. Amazing sauce, light cheese, soft dough and Italian salami. The sauce is what makes the pizza for me and this sauce was delicious. I don't give out a ton of 5 stars, but the flavors we encountered today earned all 5 !! read more

The owner brought back the pizza and explained to us (a group of Italians legitimately from Naples, lol) that the pizza was "like this, all brick oven pizza is like this". Lol. If I could give zero stars, I would! Let me begin by saying this place came highly recommended as a partner restaurant of Bricco. However, upon sitting down, we were greeted by the waiter with only "Are you ready?". This was pretty rude right off the bat, but we ordered some sodas and kept looking at the menu. Then, the waiter came back with drinks and said only "Are you ready now?". He never said his name, asked how we were, asked if we had questions about the menu, just "Are you ready". At this point we're dissatisfied with the service and ready to leave. But on top of the rude service, while we had been waiting for the drinks, we watched another server run his hands through his (extremely sweaty) hair, handle money, touch his face, and then proceed to run food and drinks to his tables without washing his hands! This was highly unsanitary and we ultimately left the restaurant without ordering any food. The place was also about 80 degrees without good airflow or any air conditioning. I'm not sure if this was a fluke for this restaurant but I highly recommend that the owner re-evaluate his hiring choices and get some better (and more hygienic) servers. read more

Quattro! Quattro! Quattro! Quattro! I had to say it four times, because this is how we felt after this amazing experience at this casual restaurant. We were not really hungry, but we wanted just something that would sit us well, while we had some drinks and we landed in this amazing place! We lucked out, because we got to sit at the bar and also watch a show, because it is extremely cool to see the chef cooking all kinds of pizzas from the stove oven and feel the warmth and the heat in a very cold New England Day. My wife and I felt very comfortable and we had the opportunity to chat with the chef, who was very appreciative of the company and gave us some tips on how to cook a great pizza. While I may be able to make one at home, I doubt that I will be able to toss it in the air, splash it on the table to soften the dough, toss it side by side to bring in air and promote the glutenous flavor of a spongy, soft, yet crunchy and flavorful pizza with a ton of Prosciutto (see picture) and an amazing decoration. Wait, I forgot the Martini's, which is the reason why we came to this place. The Pistachio Martini was absolutely amazing, especially after I had ordered an Espresso for myself and tried the one she ordered. Nothing bad at all, but the Pistachio was amazing and I ordered one for myself for the second round, because it was that good. Best of all though was the attention and care from everyone at the place. We felt right at home, maybe in Italy and we were definitely transported, which is always great, when your life is so busy and you can dream about being somewhere else, especially during winter. Was in Boston for the day with a priest friend for the installation of Archbishop Richard Henning. Leaving Holy Cross Roman Catholic Cathedral, we asked someone where we could get good Italian food. "No questions asked," he remarked, "take a cab to Quattro in the North End." We took his advice and were not disappointed! My friend had a pizza and I had their famous chicken parmigiana that came with spaghetti . Both of remarked first on the solicitous service and then on the quality and taste of our meals. The prices were reasonable and the portions generous. It is unfortunate that we will probably not be back anytime soon to enjoy other menu items. Then, hostess asked us to switch tables because they needed our table for a big party. Even though we obliged the request, we were not offered a compensation for the inconvenience. Next, the waitress asked if we wanted still water or sparkling water. I chose still water expecting it to be free, but was charged $9.95! It cost more than the water at the hotel.
