I've been a fan of Riscky's for years but on my most recent visit it was so memorably bad I felt compelled to leave a rare bad review. They had cheated on their ribs. They were moist and well cooked in the middle but had a crust of overcooked rind, indicating to me that they had been slow cooked, cooled, and then reheated at too high a heat. The bbq beans were floury and could only have come out of a can. Even the potatoes tasted mass-produced. The only dish I liked was the coleslaw... but you don't go to a bbq restaurant for coleslaw!! Been going there for 30 years and loving it, but last 2-3 something changed, brisket has way too much fat or just plain gristle, ordered from here last Saturday, got home was charged for pint of beans , got a half pint and it was about 1/4 full. service has been fair but this is it , will never go back. read more

Good food and plenty of it!!! Big portions and great service. The balloon guy was right next to us on the patio so the kids even got a couple balloon animals. The Ambiance is great since they're right in the middle of the Main Street. read more

Right at the entrance of the Ft. Worth historic Stockyards, your instantly greeted by the smell of smoked meats of Riscky's BBQ. This place was busy but we were seated quickly with first available table located on the patio. I ordered the 3 meat combo which was a great deal for $17.99 and just a $1 more than the two meat combo. This is a lot of food for that price. I had the brisket sliced which was delicious. Pork ribs were also good but slightly dry and the meat just fell off the bone. I chose the beef ribs which were just ok but that could be because this is not my favorite BBQ dish. The potato salad and Coleslaw we're both very good. For appetizers we ordered the fickles and fried brisket ends which both were awesome. I would order both of these again. I enjoyed my visit here except for the flies all over the patio but we are in cattle country so that is to be expected. I would order just the two meat combo or order the AYCE rib special. I'm having a hard time not writing this review as if I had heard so much about Riscky's and had just wandered in. I was told by a few people I should come here. I went in on a Tuesday after watching the cattle drive so it wasn't busy. I ordered the lunch special of a steak salad cooked medium rare. It was busy and loud in the restaurant but despite our waiter being very busy he was super attentive to us which we appreciated. If you come to Riscky's I'm the stockyards, come for the BBQ. We have the BBQ tacos, chopped beef sandwich, and Maverick Burger. It was all delicious. I came in with my 4 year old daughter & seizure / mobility detection service dog. I am a 100% total and permanently disabled United States Army Veteran. I asked to sit at a booth because it's currently in the low 30s currently , I was told because you have a dog I would have to sit outside on the porch. I informed the hostess that this is not a pet but a service dog, she insisted that it's an animal and I would have to sit outside. I informed her that it is against the law to segregate a patron with a service dog and chose to leave to go right next door to the Risckys burgers to be welcome to sit inside at a booth. That is the same as telling someone in a wheel chair or with a walker to sit outside. Service dogs are considered medical equipment because of the specific medical task they are trained for. There were two of us, and we both ordered the chopped BBQ brisket sandwich with fries. Honestly, the fries were better than the sandwich. We also ordered the peach cobbler, and it wasn't that great either. I think I might have seen 4 tiny pieces of peach, and the crust was thick and doughy. Came here for lunch one afternoon. They have good lunch specials Monday-Friday 11am-3pm. I tried the Brisket Plate and most of the specials come with 2 sides to my surprise. I got fries and mac and cheese. I love mac and cheese so I'm usually going to order it everywhere I go, and I've come to terms with the fact that it's usually not very good. Riscky's mac wasn't that bad though. It wasn't watery and it had good flavor. I was surprised, but definitely had better. The brisket was tender, not dry. It did lack some flavor, but the bbq sauce made up for that. The fries were seasoned well and yummy. Overall, a decent lunch. I had been wanting to try it, since it's a popular spot in the Stockyards, and now I can say I've had it. Maybe I'll try something else off their menu, but I'm in no hurry to go back. Worst food experience I've had in a while. The brisket was full of fat, more fat than meat. And it tasted more like roast beef, not brisket. No smoke flavor. So in the area, we were told by many people to check out Riscky's BBQ if we were going to spend the day in the stockyards. Turns out there are two different locations on the same long street so we chose the one closer to the petting zoo and shops. We were seated immediately outside as there's a large patio area and more seating inside. We got a view of the cute cattle and horses walking by as we waited for our food. We started with drinks. SWEET TEA: Meh. My boyfriend loves it, but I don't so I can't vote poorly on it since it's not my drink. It's a preference and I don't like my drinks to be too sweet. I love my drinks carbonated and lemony, hence my Sprite order! FRIED BRISKET BITES 4/5: We love us some brisket and we hadn't really seen a creative menu item like this before, so we opted for it. Pretty crispy, although very salty for my taste. The meat inside was tender and delicious though, I'll give it that. The sauce on the side was good too, but way too runny for my taste. By the time we dipped the bites in the sauce and took it away from the sauce to eat it, the sauce would drip. I'd recommend changing the consistency up a bit! FRIED PICKLES 4/5: Pretty yummy and a very generous helping of them...just too salty for my taste again. Then again...what can I expect from deep-fried pickles?!? It went deliciously with the BBQ and ranch dip. BBQ PLATTER 4/5: From the choices, we chose brisket, beef ribs and smoked catfish. We loved the beef ribs, and liked the brisket and smoked catfish. The brisket was pretty okay. Not the best we've had but still good, as well as the catfish. Served with beans, crispy fries, coleslaw and thick slices of toast. We were definitely full! The food wasn't mindblowing. Very hit and miss. We've traveled around Texas and dined with much better Texas BBQ than this, so it was underwhelming when people called this the best BBQ in town. Riscky's is what I have decided to call tourist barbecue. My mom and I decided to visit the stockyards last weekend and enjoyed walking through all the shops and experiencing the historic area. Our noses led us to Riscky's. I ordered the maverick burger, my mother got the barbecue platter. The burger was decent, a thin beef patty sadly missing the grilled onions and "chuck wagon sauce" it was supposed to come with. My mother's experience with the platter was similar in the sense that it was edible but not good enough to waste time going into detail about. We will definitely not be eating there next time we come back to the area. The atmosphere was reeally nice though especially if you sit in the covered outdoor/indoor section like we did. My first time at Risky's BBQ. I got the Mesquite Grilled Cheeseburger. The food was fine, but since we had a big group (16 students and 4 adults), ordering was a little hectic. We all sat outside, which I normally hate, but since there were misters, it was surprisingly okay. My friend and I asked for ranch and mayonnaise, but my friend never got her mayonnaise, even after telling the server twice. He ended up finally getting it for her when she asked one last time, but before he left to finally get it, he had put her hand on her shoulder really weirdly - she found it super creepy. I was excited to try this place since it was my first time in Texas and hearing all about the amazing BBQ but man... My husband and I were walked to our table and Before my butt even hit the chair we were asked what we wanted to drink.. we had no drink menus or even told what drinks they had available. We ordered the brisket bites as which was probably the only good thing we ordered.. I ordered the all you can eat ribs with mashed potatoes and my husband order the brisket plate with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The potatoes were cold, not good at all. The ribs were gross and the brisket was okay honestly none of it was good. I had high hopes for it but this place was not it. We even felt a little sick after leaving. We ended up having Taco Bell a couple hours later and that was SOOOOO much better than this place. read more
