This was an easy and convenient spot from the hotel. We were seated right away and chose to dine on their outdoor deck. The waiter was great but we couldn't miss the peanut shells all over the place, which we assume is a thing as that is an on-the-house appetizer, but it was ridiculous. I ordered the grilled onion cheeseburger. It was good but the onions must have run out because there were barely any on the burger, but they did substitute with a whole bunch of pickles on it. The drinks were in these small cups- especially for the alcohol drinks. The highlight was the big... waterbugs, palmetto bugs, roaches whatever you want to call them running rampant. My husband brought it to my attention and I'm glad he did because that would have let out a yelp for sure! There was one we kept our eye on coming up the umbrella to meet his relatives who were peering down at us- can you imagine eating and one of these big things falling in your food!!! We heard about burgers before venturing in. Wow. Just wow. Total dive but great food. When you have amazing food, we can overlook worlds most uncomfortable booths. We had an odd interaction w/ servers where we were moved twice. Musical servers. Again, odd and have no idea what that was about. In the end, the service we received was fantastic. Anyway, the food. To call it a 'burger' doesn't do it justice. My hubby had the OMG burger. It's a fried-egg-grilled-cheese-bacon-cheese-meatloaf. With onion rings. And lettuce and tomato. It's not for one person. My 12 yr old had the Cheetos Burger. The 13 yr old had the Fried mac n cheese burger. I had the pulled pork bacon cheeseburger. I've been to a couple of locations in MB and it's always on point. Good service, great sweet tea and the best burgers in town.

Just got to Myrtle Beach today and couldn't check into our hotel yet so we took a walk to the River City Cafe. Didn't have to wait to get seated inside and we were with Stephanie! She was absolutely amazing. Stephanie was so hospitable and funny and always checked up on us to make sure everything was good. The burgers were so good as well as the drinks! If we were to come back to Myrtle, we'd love to be in Stephanie's section! read more

This place is all about the creative burgers and yet the burger meat was pretty bland. Kinda thinking that if you tout all your creative burgers that you start with a flavorful patty. The bologna on the Darlington 500 was also pretty bland and it was a big chunk of bologna. I was expecting a burst of bologna flavor with that big chunk of bologna but that just didn't happen. I've had more flavor from the mass produced thick slice Oscar Meyer bologna. The coleslaw had raisins in it for something different but was still pretty average. The fries were good though. You get a basket of roasted peanuts while you wait for your food and they were pretty good too. The dining area is crowded and the chairs were uncomfortable for me. I haven't been here in years, can't remember why, and after this experience I'm even more confused because it was so good. For an appetizer, we got the fried zucchini. It came with an avocado ranch (which didn't have a strong avocado flavor) but boy were they delicious. The breading, the crispness, everything: phenomenal, would definitely order again. I will say on this visit they were out of lemons and jalapeños, so I couldn't get the burger I wanted initially, but instead decided on the Texas BBQ burger and it was fantastic. The burger was juicy, and I could really taste all the flavors on the burger. Phenomenal! We also got the onion rings which were HUGE!!! We also shared an order of cheese fries, these were just okay. Would probably not get again as they put so much cheese on the fries that the fries were extremely soggy. But overall we had a fantastic experience sitting outside on the covered patio/deck and eating delicious reasonably priced food. Can't wait to come back to Myrtle Beach to eat here again! read more

I downloaded Yelp for this reason. Do NOT come here unless you're willing to pay hospital bills. We took a weekend trip to Myrtle Beach and this restaurant gave us food poisoning (specifically the chicken). It ruined the entire vacation and cost us a lot of money. Food was pretty good, the portions are humongous. But I will say the time it took to get my appetizer was probably 45 minutes maybe an hour and then to get my actual food was even longer. If you dine outside there are heaters on in case it gets cold which is nice, but they're not very strong. The onion rings are delicious so I'd definitely recommend! read more

We were here about 2 weeks ago. Such a fun vacation dining spot. Worth the wait! The wait was really long however if you just want food get it to go. We were not even there during peak season. The patio seating was cool. It was a little chilly on the patio for my mother and aunt but we were served quickly and forgot about the chill in the air. Portions are large and ohhh sooo gooood! The wait staff was really friendly and knew the menu well. The patio was a little messy but it's probably hard to keep it clean with all the beach wind blowing. Expectation: While visiting Myrtle Beach, I googled and found this place. I looked at reviews and the menu online. I'm always looking for a "food experience" so I was happy to see this place has a variety of unique burgers. Location: We went to the 208 73rd Avenue location. They have a very small parking lot so it was difficult to find a parking spot. The wait to be seated was over an hour. One of the hostess recommended another location. I didn't know they had other locations. So we headed over to 5835 Dick Pond Road location. We were happy to see that there was plenty of parking. Experience: The inside was a decent size and was full of customers. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. Our waitress was very nice and professional. It didn't take a long time for us to receive our food. I ordered the Nacho Crunch Burger and onion rings. The burger was topped with nacho cheese Doritos, jalapeños, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, onion, guacamole, and spicy chipotle mayo. I don't like spicy food so they took off the jalapeños and I switched spicy mayo out for regular mayo. The sandwich wad delicious! My friend let me their Big Island Burger and that was amazing! I only received 2 onions rings and I see why, they were huge! If I'm ever in SC again I'll come back here. read more

If you're looking for a quick burger and a beer this place is just ok. The staff is super friendly and efficient. There are over 15-20 different burgers to choose from. There are also salads and other entrees but the restaurant is really burger centric. Close to the water and ample parking. Colorful and casual esthetic in doors and they also have a big outdoor patio. Our main issue was the cost of the drinks So pricey that we each only had one. There were three of us and lunch was over $100. read more

Our favorite lunch spot! The other location we tried was great because of the beach access and view- but this one thrived in personality too. This is the original location! The food is incredible. The mushrooms are my favorite. The fries are so so good. The burgers, fish sandwiches, and literally everything else is just so tasty. Gosh now I'm getting hungry again. The pies are more like ice cream and are soooo yummy and cute (small enough for one, but big enough to share if your on the full side) Many hotels have discounts with these chains so ask! Service has been great each time. This location did NOT give us a Mac and cheese bowl with the kids meal- just and FYI for parents becausr my son was missing that from the other location. read more

I gave them one star because I have to put at least one to leave a review. We waited for an hour to get our table, and they sat down three families that got there after us. When we sat down, I couldn't order a beer because it was past 10 pm. We waited 20 min to get our drinks. Half of the food on the table was cold. They gave me only two onion rings (nothing like the photos). I ordered mild wings, and they gave me plain wings, and they said it was mild. My daughter's mac and cheese were cold. I'd never been here before even though I come to Myrtle Beach often (my elderly parents live here). Well my mom had a stroke. It was bad. She's in ICU and dad won't leave her side, not even to eat. She's 80, he's 86 and they've been married 60 years. My brother went to River City Cafe to get my dad a grilled pimento cheese sandwich. That's all he wanted. It's not on the menu, but my brother explained the situation and the waitress said "we got you." The chef whipped it up for us lickety split and my dad ate it sitting in the chair next to my mom in her hospital bed. "This is fit for a king!" he said. I went back for lunch the next day. I had the pimento burger and fried mushrooms. Great service, good drinks, delicious food and evidently a staff that really cares. (The fried mushrooms were ridiculously good) Our family is going through a hard time right now. Thank you, River City Cafe for helping an old man find a little comfort in a grilled pimento cheese sandwich. read more

All employees wearing masks. Our server was Emily. She was awesome! She knew what we wanted before we did, seriously! July 26, 2025 River City Cafe Extremely long wait over an hour and there wasn't a line out the door it was just not being run well . The guy working hostess stand seemed to tell everyone 45min wait when actually it was an hour or more . The host man kept saying how he was saving this or that table for a party of 15 which never materialized. We kept asking over and over when we would get a table as no new people seemed to even be coming in . Not to mention this location had no AC in the middle of a heat advisory/ summer peak season. I suspect trying to not replace unit and be greedy . People were so desperate to eat that we stayed in dirty hot restaurant for mediocre food. it was very disappointing . The entire experience from start to finish was miserable . Even the beer was hot . the employees were also complaining as they would pass by us because it was extremely hot! They were hot and sweaty looking no one wants to see the workers under duress of heat serving you food . And the Divine group certainly can afford to replace the AC unit that should be a priority in a beach tourist town & the place is dirty some one should be pressure washing that back deck daily ! This used to be a nice fun good food place . Now it's just a tourist trap make money off people desperate to find a place to eat. Divine group needs to spend some of their money to bring this place up to code ! Start with AC , and clean those nasty floors and grimy deck up ! we were offered to sit outside but when you looked outside it was filthy dirty deck that has never been cleaned! We left most of the food on the table and spent a fortune for this food I didn't eat ! I left hungry tired and dirty unacceptable food & restaurant conditions ! No excuse for this experience.
