I enjoyed the taste of the Nacho Crunch burger and thought the concepts of most burgers on the menu sounded intriguing; however, everyone in my party noticed the texture of the burgers was a little off. I personally chalked it up to low quality meat. The blooming onion was the highlight of the meal...better blend of spices in the sauce than you'll find elsewhere. This place is dirty. I think anyone who runs a restaurant must keep their place clean. I don't understand the positive reviews. You see dead cockroaches on the floor. There's trash everywhere. You can see that the kitchen staff have not been trained to properly handle food. My husband really like burgers so we came. As soon as we entered, I wanted to leave. But he was too tired and hungry, so we ordered our food here. Food here is like Applebee's food. Nothing special. But I could not stop thinking about how dirty this place is so could not enjoy the meal. If the front of the restaurant is this disgusting, imagine the kitchen floor. We were in Myrtle Beach on vacation and ate at River City Cafe a total of 3 times. The food and service were very good during the first 2 visits and we were so pleased we returned a 3rd time. However, on our 3rd visit we were unfortunate to have Sarah M as our server. I have never seen a server who was more rude. She barked at us when taking our orders and was very rude when she brought our dinners and throughout our meal. I honestly don't know why a friendly place like River City Cafe would hire a server like her who is so disrespectful to patrons who are only there to enjoy a nice meal. She ruined our impression of this restaurant and we will not be returning or recommending it to anyone. Were it not for Sarah M I would have given this place 5 stars. read more

Placed a pick up order on a busy night and it was ready to go when we arrived. The staff was friendly and helpful even though they were swamped. Got the food "home" and it was still hot and most importantly delicious! Chicken Philly and veggie burger were devoured. Arrived at 5:30 and put our name in, they said it would be a 25 minute wait. It took just about 25 mins, we were seated on at a picnic table on the porch. Stephanie was our server she greeted us right away with water and peanuts. She came back with our drinks from the bar and took our order. She was on point with her service and had such a delightful attitude. I order the Texas BBQ burger but sub the hamburger for a chicken breast and hubby got the continental burger with gravy fries. Peanut shells on the floor, crayon drawings with license plates on the wall. Service: perfect. My husband and I came here on our last night of vacation for dinner... wish we stopped in earlier! Service: our waitress was super friendly and helpful BUT attentiveness was a bit lacking. We came around 9pm, there weren't *that* many tables occupied but our server would disappear for long stretches. Then we ordered fried zucchini as an app at the same time we put in our drink order but it never came... we ended up not bringing it up because we figured our meals would come shortly anyways. I felt like it DID take quite a long time tho for our burgers to come. Odd bc the place wasn't crowded at all. Food/drinks: $5 margaritas were great! I had been craving one for a loooong time now so it tasted extra good. My husband and I both got burgers. He got one called "OMG Burger" and I got a banana pepper burger. Both were FANTASTIC! The fries were AMAZING as well! The coleslaw had raisins in it (blah) so I just picked them out. When our check came, my husband had his wallet on the table with our room key showing. Another mixed review where my meal was very good and my husbands was so so. Came here for lunch during our day at the beach and sat on the patio. No pics left the phone in the room. Fun atmosphere, small little place, but the variety of burgers is crazy. I ended up having their Baja Chicken Sandwich which was really good. There marinated chicken recipe is delicious, and I'm going to say it, the chicken was so "moist" highly recommend. Husband had the Mac N Cheese burger which he was disappointed in. It looked and tasted dry. The mac n cheese looked like Kraft but it wasn't creamy enough to make it a good burger. On April 4, 2022, I ate at River City Cafe. I ordered sweet tea, a Mac & cheese Turkey burger and cheese fries. I've never had a Mac & cheese Turkey burger before, but I'm glad I tried it. Overall, my meal was yummy. I was in Myrtle Beach during our school's spring break and while eating at River City Cafe, enjoying my yummy burger, I heard the sound of a little voice shouting my name. As I looked up, I noticed two of my students running towards me to give me a hug. Our school is located in Atlanta and here we are, in Myrtle Beach and two students from my school (siblings) and I having this encounter at the same restaurant. What are the odds? Wait here for lunch during our vacation. It's located close to the beach and close to a lot of the shops, but we ate here because we saw that it had good reviews. At the time that we went they only have outdoor seating available which worked for us because of the pandemic. We ordered burgers, chicken fingers, and their hotdog with chili. The food here is AMAZING. The burgers were tasty and well seasoned. The chili was flavorful and also very delicious. The food is FIVE STARS. The service here though, they are definitely struggling like so many other restaurants during the pandemic. Our poor waitress was trying to handle the outdoor crowd while also handling the indoor crowd. I think they were only two servers overall in a place that was pretty cool. One of the managers helped us when it started to rain and moved us into a place that was still outdoors but without any rain hitting us. He was very kind and friendly. Our server was very apologetic the entire time. It is honestly just a tough time for all restaurants, but it didn't take us very long to receive our check in to receive boxes at the end. Overall though it was a great restaurant and I would definitely go back. But I would probably recommend doing takeout. read more

Came here as a recommendation from the concierge at our hotel. We got here and it was about a 30 minute wait so we walked over to the candy store across the street. The hostess mentioned it wasn't too long of a wait so my guess is that they can get pretty busy. We were seated and the servers were working their butts off running around. They were busy & our server wasn't overly friendly, but she was good at her job. There were two of us and we ordered an appetizer & meal to split. We got the Cheese Pops and Chicken Tenders, and the chicken tenders were AMAZING! Hands down the best chicken tenders I've ever eaten! It was suggested to come here for a great burger so we'll definitely be back before we leave Myrtle Beach. read more
