4 stars for the food and 2 stars for their online ordering process. I order a sandwich off the menu (not a custom built one) that comes with a set of particular ingredients. It prompted me to check what I did and didn't want. I also selected Brentwood as my pick up location and got a confirmation text and email. Shortly after I ordered they called me (and I had stepped away from my phone) to ask me what I wanted on my sandwich and if I was picking up in Brentwood. What's the point of making selections online if that doesn't get transfered to the store. I asked when it would be ready and they quoted me another 30 minutes. That was really wrong of them considering I had placed the order another 30 minutes prior. It shouldn't take an hour to make sandwich. Really poor ordering process. In person isn't much better-I've walked in other times with no one in the shop and still given an hour wait time. No sandwich is worth that long of a wait. It was cute and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The hot pastrami sandwich was the best that we've had - not too much bread and it was soft enough to chew easily. I placed my order and was told 15-20 minutes. I arrived within 15 minutes of the initial call to find out I had accidentally called the Discovery Bay location instead of Brentwood. First my husband went in and he was told the only solution was so go pick up the sandwich in Discovery Bay and that they would not remake the sandwich even though he offered to pay for both sandwiches (we were not disputing that we made the mistake). They refused to make us a second sandwich. He came out to the car and explained what happened. I said he must have misunderstood that doesn't make sense if we are offering to pay for both. So I went in and the girl that was helping us (she was great) called the owner. The girl was explaining the situation and I could hear the owner cut her off mid sentence. She said that we had to pay for the Discovery Bay sandwich. I said yes of course please ring me up, she said she was unable to do that and that we needed to take care of the balance in Discovery Bay. I had a toddler in the car and was not going to drive to Discovery Bay and back. I asked if I could pay over the phone to that location and she said no. Love the environment here and the employees inside are very sweet, good vibes(: I got the Italian Salad, Snack Box and the Cherry Lime Italian Soda. Ok, need to note that I am not much of a sandwich person and it takes a lot to wow me in terms if sandwiches. This averaged out to a 3.7 rating overall. I heard about this place and wanted to try it after the Brentwood Farmer's market. This place has cute decor and a homey vibe. The staff are so sweet and gracious. I like to support local family small businesses. My ratings are for the food itself. I ordered a hot pastrami sandwich which is one of their most popular sandwiches. This was a 4 star sandwich reminding me of the old school sandwiches I had when I was younger and the sizes sandwiches used to be in my day-just right sized not overly huge. Nicely toasted- their Dutch crunch was not as crunchy with extra hard crunch factor on top- but I liked it this way better I think! It had sauerkraut in it which is good. The chicken salad sandwich was like a Napa chicken salad with red grapes. It was a solid 3.5 stars - think a little less mayo letting the chicken pieces shine would have made it better because with the excess mayo, you couldn't tell what was the chicken or anything else. It still was good though. The tuna sandwich had relish it seems and was a little sweet. 3.5 stars for this per my daughter since she is not into sweet type of tuna sandwiches, but it was still good. They have tortas which I want to try one day! And maybe try their Italian one! So I will be back. Total rating is 3.66 (3.7 rounded up). So a solid, good will come back again sandwich shop when I am in the area type of place- for me, not a 5 star knock my socks off or hit the ball out of the ballpark spectacular fireworks type of 5 star food! We've picked up sandwiches a couple of times always and they have always been very tasty. My favorite is the #2 on Dutch crunch. I always get the garlic sauce on my sandwich. I tried a slice of their tres leches cake and it was good! Service was great! I think the owner was the one who attended us and made our sandwiches. Ok neighbors of Discovery Bay had a doctors appointment in Brentwood and stopped by the Roadee's For a couple of sandwiches I got the same number two which is turkey and cheese and my wife got well I ordered her the Caprese which is warm. Let me tell ya I will be ordering the Caprese sandwich next time instead of my usual number two. It was so good if you like tomato pesto and mozzarella this is a sandwich for you and especially it's warm that support our local Discovery Bay Roadee's oh by the way macaroni salad is so good. Decided to give this place a shot since Dino's next door had a large line and there were only a couple of people in Roadees. The staff were friendly and took my order quickly. I ordered a Turkey Bacon Avocado sandwich on a sourdough role. While waiting for my sandwich I had a chance to admire the interior which was like stepping back into a different era. Lots of cool memorabilia on the walls. My sandwich was ready fairly quickly. There's fairly limited seating but that shouldn't be a problem as most people seemed to get their sandwiches to go. The sourdough roll was very fresh although I wish they would have toasted the bread, but that's just a person preference. I'm sure they could have done that if I asked, but my usual sandwich shop does it as a standard practice so I didn't think to ask. The avocado in the sandwich was well portioned and sliced to perfection. The ratio of mustard and mayo was exactly the way I like it and not overly dry or slathered on. I was not a fan of the avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, and bacon . Most places I get this sandwich use freshly cut slices of avocado. I'm not sure what they used, but it definitely was not fresh or sliced. It was a mushy avocado-ish paste. I was not a fan. The tomatoes were not ripe and lacked flavor completely. And there were no more than three slices of tomato in my sandwich. I'm personally not a fan of minced iceberg lettuce in sandwiches and this sandwich was a good reminder of why I don't like it. It seemed to add to the mushy texture of the sandwich and also lacked the flavor and crunch you expect from a more refined lettuce. I prefer romaine lettuce and for larger pieces rather than finely cut sprinkles. Now the bacon is a huge part of why I wanted this sandwich, because who doesn't like a nice slice or two of bacon. The bacon in this sandwich was the biggest disappointment of the entire sandwich. There were a few large pieces in there, but they were stale and hard. They had the flavor of cardboard and the consistency of chalk. After the first couple bites I could not handle the taste or consistency of the bacon and had to do the previously unfathomable and remove the bacon. Overall the sandwich was not terrible. I think with a few minor tweaks the sandwich could not only be good but it could be perfect. read more

My husband and I have loved Roadees the entire time we've lived in Brentwood (4 years) - our favorite sandwiches in town. Not only that, we've proudly recommended them to friends and new-town-comers. We ordered sandwiches yesterday (1/1/26). First, I called and the voicemail said they are not accepting orders via phone, but only via online order. Totally fine! I put in our online order. A woman then proceeds to call me to scold me about the selections I made on the online service (it was too unclear, I guess). I told her that I tried to call, and did my best with what it asked. She said "well that's not how it needs be done". I am not sure what kind of personal turmoil this woman is going through, but she is SUPER rude to customers (not to mention, REPEAT customers). I sent my husband to pick them up, and he said that she even continued the attitude at pick-up. Roadees - do better. It's a sandwich, it's not so serious if my pepperoncini selection was a bit unclear. Deal with it, that's customer service. We'll find a new sandwich spot. read more

I visited Roadee's sandwich shop in Brentwood (2nd Street) today at 1:30pm and observed the arrogance of an an owner who blatantly disrespected a young female employee by casting her aside in the middle of my order. Needless to say, my order was incorrectly prepared and missing an item; and when I returned to the shop to address the error, I was met with more arrogance. I was told that I received what I originally asked for and that I would have to wait in the queue for at least 15 minutes to be served again. I didn't wait but I did decide that today's transaction was my last. I hope the young lady involved finds another job with a leader who, at the very least, will respect her. Ordered the Turkey bacon avocado on Dutch crunch. Sandwich tasted good, however, could be better executed. I was expecting something that looked like the picture on the sign out front but got very little Turkey and 1 slice of bacon. For a $10 sandwich I could have made the same thing at home for much less. The dressings (mayo/mustard/ garlic spread) were barely added to the bread. There was literally a single squirt of mustard in the middle of my bread when I opened the sandwich. Bread and ingredients tasted fresh but I was expecting more given the other ratings and pictures. One farmer's market, my family and I were given some samples of a hot pastrami sandwich. My husband was so impressed as well as my 3 year old son! Fast forward a couple of weeks, my husband and I had a kid free day and we decided to try out Roadees. We walked in and the owner immediately welcomed us like we were family. We looked over the menu but she said most popular sandwiches were the hot pastrami and the caprese sandwich. We took 1 of each! We got to sit outside in a lovely outdoor patio. She brought us our sandwiches personally. My husband devoured his sandwich and was so happy to have gotten the hot pastrami. I had to take a little longer to eat mine because it was a little messy but oh so delicious! I definitely would choose to eat the caprese sandwich again! Once we were done she came to talk to us and talked about how she started and what she does to make her sandwich shop special compared to those around her. She talked about how she makes everything in her shop and does not make it in large batches. She puts a lot of time, effort and a lot of love into making each and every one of her sandwiches. Have gone twice for a sandwich and ordered the same Avocado Turkey and bacon, First time the sandwich was excellent but sadly the second time the one thin slice of meat was so thin I actually thought they had forgot to put it in! However, I would not call this place a "cafe." Order our food, which was the toasted pastrami sandwich with dutch crunch and a children's chicken sandwich. Sat outside waiting for our name to be called. My 4 year ate a whole bad chips and a drink while we waited. Watched people after us get their food as we patiencely waited. Still seeing people come and go. I asked when our food was going to be ready. The lady stated 10 more minutes. Seriously, we have already sat here for over 30 minutes. The lady seemed like like she was going to help, but the sandwich took 8-10 minutes. Even though we were sitting at their establishment, they treated us like a togo order. It's a good thing I opened it up there because they gave me a kid's grilled cheese. THE WRONG ORDER. I came back up front and let the lady know she seemed like she was the owner or the boss. She tells me to take it up with the front. So as I explained it to the girl. The boss lady interject, " I make they how their ordered." Obviously not. I again repeated. That is not my order. Showed up in 30 minutes and it wasn't ready which is OK but after waiting for an additional 15 minutes when I asked how long I was treated rudely and was told I had to wait for all the people that walked in ahead of me to get their orders. so I would've got my sandwich faster if I just walked in instead of ordering over the phone?which doesn't make sense why even have a phone ?so I walked away left my money.
