Make it fresh and churro matcha latte
    Tash C.

Have been a customer at this location for several years. Haven't been a quite a while lately, but visited recently and the staff remember me, my partner and our orders! Definitely the BEST coffee spot in Pleasant Hill! Check them out when you need your next coffee fix. PSA: Shoutout to Fern and Rain B for being super amazing!

the iced maple matcha w oatmilk was so good! definitely my favorite matcha in the area- the matcha flavor is strong and the matcha powder is good quality. this cute coffee shop is conveniently located in pleasant hill, with a large menu and lots of seasonal drinks too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]there is a large outdoor seating area with benches, which was the only thing i was disappointed about as there is no indoor seating, and i wanted to go there and do work but no biggie.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Gluten free pastry (pumpkin muffin)
    Ingrid A.

Stopped by for coffee near the location I was in, and I am very satisfied that they offer gluten free options for pastries and food items. Today I got a gluten free pumpkin pastry and a seasonal drink (hot Ube coconut latte). For both items I spend about $12. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is small and cozy, there is seating area right outside, staff was friendly and knowledgeable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I definitely recommend to try this coffee shop if you are in the area!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cute neighborhood coffee shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Coffee and matcha were good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor space is big but the inside is small.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not really enough space inside to hang out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Small parking lot but got lucky with parking in the front. Will be visiting again when the weather is nice and if I feel like having my drinks outdoors.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a vibe. This shop is nestled in a neighborhood that makes it awesome for those around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The coffee is very good and they also have a solid kitchen. Wanting to take a walk and make this your pit stop, I suggest you do! Everyone working is in great spirits and there to help you.

This is a cute place and not too crowded at 10:30 AM on a Saturday. They work fast. There is also plenty of seating outside with umbrellas. The coffee was pretty pricey but they offer plenty of options. Also, very rare to find coffee shops that offer so many milk options, especially macadamia. Their snacks look yummy too, but we didn't get to try anything this time around. I ordered their maple matcha latte and it was divine. Real matcha too! The bf ordered the strawberry basil lemonade and didn't even share haha. I definitely would come back again and support this small business. On a nice day, it's a great spot to hang out with friends and not too loud.

Are they open during "shelter in place"?

Their website has been updated today! They're opening up on Tuesday March 24th for online orders and curbside pick up - 9am to 1pm. I'm so excited because I've completely run out of their coffee beans.

What do you have that's vegan?

Hi! Our entire menu is vegan :)

Are there gluten free items on the menu?

Yes they have gluten free options

What brand of cashew cream cheese does rooted use?

We make our own cashew cream cheese!

Do any of the "milks" contain Guar Gums?

Hi Kayla! One of the creamers that we use, Ripple, does list Guar Gum as an ingredient. We have a variety to choose from!

I've been to Zio Fraedos many moons ago and I'm glad that I rediscovered this gem while I was in the area. Let's begin with the service -- Servizio impeccabile! Our servers were on point, very friendly, and continued to check on us while we were eating. The food -- I ordered the special, steak omelette with mushrooms and a single blueberry pancake. My hubby ordered the chicken fried steak. Let's just say that we enjoyed every bite! I don't know what it is, but even the sourdough toast was good! The location -- You can dine indoors or outdoors. The visuals outdoors makes you feel like you're in a different country. From the sculptures, mini water fountain to all the foliage, it's so pretty! But if you rather dine indoors and watch a game, they have flatscreens and a small bar. Highly recommended! They have a pretty good selection of dishes to try. I'm going to make it a point to come back.

I got a BLT with a side of tater tots - yum! I took pictures of the menu. This restaurant reminds me of an Italian themed hotel, think Vegas. Our waiter was excellent and so was the rest of the staff that interacted with us.

The hygiene alone should be enough to make anyone turn around and walk out. The employee working the front repeatedly coughed into his hands, rubbed his nose, sneezed, then immediately went back to handling customers' utensils, napkins, and food-related items without washing or sanitizing his hands. It happened over and over again. It was honestly disgusting to watch. Basic food safety should never be optional. Then came the bill. Three items. One tiny crepe, one madeleine, and one quiche. Nearly $50. I actually thought there had been a mistake. The crepe was embarrassingly small, and the chicken inside was some of the worst I've had. It was dry, stringy, chewy, and tasted incredibly cheap. There was absolutely nothing fresh or high quality about it. The portions were tiny, the quality was poor, and the prices were completely disconnected from reality. My husband was born and raised in France, and we've spent plenty of time eating at cafés and bakeries there. This isn't even remotely comparable. It's an overpriced imitation that relies on the idea of being French instead of delivering food that's actually worth eating. If you're going to charge premium prices, then deliver premium quality, proper food safety, and an experience that justifies it. This place failed on every one of those fronts. We won't be back, and I genuinely can't understand why this place has the reputation it does.

If you blink, you might miss it. Service is still 10/10! This time around, I ordered a hot matcha latte, and honestly, I wasn't expecting much (let's be real, some places can mess up matcha). But surprise, surprise -- it actually tasted like real matcha! It was delicious! For my meal, I tried the cowboy scramble, which I swear was everything but the kitchen sink tossed in a pan. It was hearty, satisfying, and totally hit the spot. The only hiccup? The melted butter they used on the toast had a weird aftertaste. I can't quite explain it -- like if butter went to a weird party and came back a little off. But hey, it didn't ruin the whole meal, just a little side note. All in all, I'm into the new look, and I'll definitely be back for that legit matcha latte and hefty scramble!

She had the Croque Monsieur and I had the Fontaine Philly Cheesesteak. The food took a long time to prepare, which was surprising as we were the only patrons (this should have tipped us off!).
