    Sourdough olive bread $14
    Magda G.

Super friendly staff. I got the olive bread -- it's huge and absolutely delicious. The bakery itself is small and adorable. Just a heads-up: they do close early on certain days. Pastries/coffees/tea available as well.

Hands down some of the best baked goods in SF. Picked up a selection to bring to a meeting-- everyone was raving about them. Their morning bun and cinnamon roll are worth the trek to the Embarcadero Center. Staff were very pleasant. Will definitely come back.

I got the latte and morning bun and it was so tasty! I went on a Sunday around 11am and the cinnamon bun was already sold out. The place is super cute and cozy and even though there's no seats inside, there's plenty of tables around the area to enjoy it.

Adorable little bakery tucked inside the Embarcadero Plaza featuring outstanding bread, lovely treats, and tasty coffee. I dropped by for a quick breakfast before work, and I was super impressed. I would probably budget a bit more time to find this space -- they do a perfect good job labeling their store, but I'm just quite directionally challenged and spent way too long wandering the Plaza -- but it is otherwise the perfect spot for a mid-day pick-me-up. I got their seed loaf, which was, true to its name, absolutely loaded with seeds. It had flax, pumpkin, poppy, sunflower, and I'm sure several other seeds, which made the little slice super hearty and filling. I paired this with an americano, which was lovely -- the coffee wasn't overly bright (which is my preference), although it did feel a little bit too watery / wasn't all that fragrant. They also had a bunch of other goodies that I didn't get a chance to try, like various danishes and croissants. I think I've had their baked goods at other cafes before, though -- I'd recognize their almond croissant or millet muffin anywhere -- and they've been delicious. They're most famous for their bread, so I'll have to come back and give it a try. There isn't a ton of seating inside -- just three small tables for 1-2 people along the front windows -- but there are a few communal picnic tables right outside in the plaza if you need a place to hang out for a while.

I stopped by Rosalind Bakery on a Saturday morning for coffee and ended up grabbing an ice americano along with a blue corn cookie and seasonal danish (mixed berry with vanilla) and to snack on while spending the morning journaling. Loved the blue corn cookie which reminded me of a sweet corn bread with a great texture from the corn. I love cookies that are chewy and not too sweet and this was just perfect. The danish was great as well with a fresh berry jam with whole pieces of blueberries and I loved the flaky layers in the pastry as well. Such a cute bakery with some counter seats inside and long tables outside. The natural light coming through the windows is beautiful and it was super cute that while I was there, a lot regulars came in grabbing their usual Saturday morning pastry. I can see why this is a neighborhood staple and will definitely be back! Pro tip: I've also seen Rosalind Bakery pastries at Paper Son on Mondays and Tuesdays so it's great that they're expanding their reach!

I discovered Rosalind Bakery through Blackbird Pay. I'm so happy that they have almond croissants. It wasn't sold out like Jane the Bakery on Fillmore was when I came at lunch on a weekday. It's just as yummy and big too with the almond paste inside! Highly recommend their almond croissant!

Quick stop before lunch with my friend. Tried their matcha with Oat.....ummm not sure if I like it color was off to me. Service was great though. Might try their coffee next time if I am in the area.

Excellent experience! The Rosalind Bakery croissant is well made. Their cappuccino was good. Marie's counter service is friendly and represents the business well. Barstools and window counter are clean. Atrium light coming through the window is pleasant. Prices for this quality of food are fair and a great value. I will be back yet again for another perfect experience. Thanks Rosalind Bakery!

    Dry inedible Millet muffin

I came by to pick up a surprise bag through TooGoodToGo. The lady behind the counter sighed one of those "ugh, you're one of those" sighs. I received a chocolate chip cookie, a slice of something I can't find on their menu and a millet muffin. That unknown slice I enjoyed. The cookie was meh but the muffin was hard and inedible. I'm trying to help prevent food waste but how can I do that if I can't eat what I'm given?

    Ham + Cheese Croissant

An odd mix of big loaves of bread and individual pastries. Not really in the mood to take a big loaf back to the office, so focused on the pastries. Everything I tried was really yummy. Ham + Cheese Croissant: Not the typical crescent shaped croissant that I'm used to, more square like a pain au chocolat. Except no chocolat, but tons of thick folded ham. And some cheese too. Really nice against the flaky buttery dough. One of the few savory pastries sold here, so could be part of a lunch in a pinch. Hibiscus Bearclaw: A little sticky. Even more so since they put it in a bag and then the sticky topping gets all over. But despite the mess, it's kinda tasty. The pink sticky glaze was very subtly scented like hibiscus. The inside of the pasty had a nice sweet almond paste. And same signature buttery flaky pastry shell that they do well here. Cinnamon Roll: This was HUGE! Literally the size of my hand and I don't have small hands. A little messy with all the frosting, so keep a few napkins at your desk. The first two rings are flaky and a little dry, like is typical when bakeries attempt cinnamon rolls. So I was a little concerned. But then I got to the inner rings and was so delighted. Soft and full of cinnamon flavor. Just like those cinnamon roll specializing places, which is rare for a bakery to get right. Had some leftovers obviously, but still tasted good the next day. Pumpkin Pear Danish: Loved the center, which seemed to skew more pear than pumpkin. Something great about the pairing for fruit with buttery flaky pastry. Chocolate Croissant: A few bits of hard chocolate surrounded by lots of buttery croissant dough. Kinda wish they were a little more generous with the chocolate though, since there were many bites without. Almond Croissant: This felt like they were cheating. It was a croissant cut in half with almond paste spread in the middle. Always seems more magically when the almost paste is actually baked inside. Also, it feels like having the almond paste baked instead makes the whole inside a bit moister too. It was still decent, but not their best offering. Chocolate Chip Cookie: A very comforting classic cookie. I like how it was a little thick, but not too thick. The oversized chocolate chips were perfect for the thickness. And a nice touch of salt for contrast, but not too salty.

tried the millet muffin and it was extremely satiating--loads you up with fibre because of the whole wheat and provides great textural contrast bc of the crunchiness :")

Best croissant I have ever had!!! Great coffee too, very good prices for the area, about to become a regular.

I tried the regular croissant, the almond croissant, and the kouign-amann. My favorite was 100% the almond croissant. All were amazing but the flavors and textures were truly exceptional. The flakiness, the caramelization, the perfect balance of flavors. I wished I had ordered 10 more. Also, the staff were so kind, the line moved quickly, and bonus: all the items freeze exceptionally well!

For someone to stake their cred on the line and vouched for the kougn-amann, I am def up for this challenge. We took a Waymo which is the coolest car I ever rode in. This bakery location was pretty far from the hotel, but since our friend said this is the one she often visited, so off we went. The surrounding area for this location was nice and seemed to be in a good neighborhood. Since there is no seating (which is a pity), I bought a cup of hot chocolate from next door and we sat at their seatings. Hence no eating of ambiance here. SERVICE 5/5 I have to say the staff here worked really fast despite the line. They were very efficient but not lacking the basic friendly vibe. FOOD 4/5 Kouign-amann 3/5 Sadly, my friend's cred was gone. It was just an ok kouign-amann. There was not enough sugar and I def have better kouign-amann elsewhere. Mademoiselle Louise in Houston had one of the top kouign-amann I had evereaten. It was in year 2020 and I could still remember the wonderful kouign-amann there. Savory scone 5/5 Luckily I got to try the savory scone which was very flavorful and scrumptious. Highly recommended. Our friend took a bite of the kouign-amann she bought to bring home, she commented yea it was not very good, tasted diff. My brother had a butter croissant, and commented it was flakey and pillow-y at the same time. However, it lacked of a good butttet taste. Perhaps that was the reason the kouign-amann I had paled in comparison to those I ever had, which were usually made of French butter like Elle & Vrie and other gourmet butter. I would still recommend this bakery and the best time I would get the savory scone.

I have been to Butter & Crumble two times now: once while waiting in line for an hour and a half, and the second time with one of their limited pre-ordered boxes that I got lucky enough to claim. First off, I want to say that I love how Butter & Crumble is not only a woman-owned business, but I also appreciate how you can definitely tell through its whimsical decor in their small storefront. While there is not any seating inside, there is still a lot of personality packed into the space with their pink disco croissant, pretty Instagram-worthy tiles, and the aesthetically pleasing transparent divider between customers and their working team (for patrons to watch the art of making a flaky pastry!). I truly appreciate how their menu changes every month and that all of the bakers who work there are able to showcase a specialty item. I was very bummed that I missed the prime rib and Dungeness crab pastries, so I'm hoping they bring them back again soon! Since I got a pre-order box during my last visit, the pastries were already pre-selected, so I was not able to choose what I wanted. Regardless, I was happy with the selection. I got some of their signature pastries, including: *Morty P Croissant: Salty pistachio pesto with mortadella meat, giving an Italian sandwich type of vibe. *Pistachio Cardamom Croissant: Generously filled with pistachio cream with a slight hint of cardamom. It was sweet and tasted like a cannoli, but with flaky butter pastry. *Mocha Cruffin: An excellent blend of both chocolate and espresso. It was really balanced and worked well with the cruffin shape. Mine leaked out a bit (it was stuffed more on top) and got everywhere, but I enjoyed the flavors. *Herby Olive Twist: Savory and cheesy from the Parmesan, and I enjoyed both the olive and olive oil flavors paired with flaky sea salt. Overall, do I recommend Butter & Crumble? Yes. However, I do want to call out that I wouldn't recommend waiting an hour and a half in line on a regular basis to get it, even though this spot is delicious.
