Prime rib

We celebrated our anniversary with hot bread, prime rib, pork chops, jacketed baked potato and wedge salad. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. Highly recommend.

I walk in and sit in the bar area. Everything is portioned well, drinks, sides, entrees. Prices are reasonable. I switched it up and ordered the 20oz. Prime Rib with the Jacketed Baked Potato. Our server Mari was fantastic.

Dang... this used to be a favorite place. I used to bring my friends here after today. I will never come back. The table was dirty. The floors were gross and dirty. The service was terrible, I saw my waiter twice. the Caesar salad which I should've taken a picture of was horrible, the cheese on it was hard. The cheese was brown. I couldn't eat it. Been here for an hour. I do have a drink and I have my salad lol can't eat that still waiting for my food. If it wasn't so filthy in here I probably could overlook some of this stuff. This disgusting. I'm just gonna take my food home and eat it hopefully it's not gonna make me sick.

The restaurant was clean and inviting. Our server was friendly and attentive. The filet mignon skewers were excellent. The meat was tender and cooked to perfection. This is a great steakhouse for locals.

10/10! Cute little restaurant! Excellent service! Shianne was our waitress & she was phenomenal! Steak was delicious and so were the mash potatoes!! Would recommend!!!

Sourdough

We haven't been back here for quite awhile; trying out different establishments in Reno. Food still great and service good ! Sourdough to start. Today we got the 10oz Garlic butter Sirloin with asparagus and broccoli as sides (Yum) and 16oz Ribeye. I requested more garlic butter to put on my veggies; which to me made it pop. We had enough room for dessert so we tried Ruby's cookie (which the cookie tasted undercooked / mushy. I prefer a firmer cookie). Overall still good steakhouse !

If you follow my reviews you know I've been in a Birthday club with the same girls for 36 years. Tonite is the night to celebrate Patti's 60th. To be honest I haven't been to the Ruby River since the last Birthday party when Shannon turned 40 so it's been awhile. I had the garlic top sirloin, it was delicious and the meat melted into your mouth. I wish my onions could have been grilled longer and really my one piece of asparagus could have used a few more friends on my plate. Everyone enjoyed their food and service was excellent. We made a reservation for 8 and got seated right away. All of our dinners came out at the same time and for a table of 8 there were no issues other than more asparagus. The last time we were there you would throw the peanuts on the floor but it seems like they removed that type of atmosphere and the restaurant was going more for the classy steakhouse vibe. When we left there was a huge wait in the front! Glad we made a reservation. I highly advise it. Oh by the way they didn't include the gratitude for a large party and I thought that was extra nice. We always give more anyway.

I had the smothered chicken breast. I didn't read correctly, I thought I was getting chicken breast smothered in mushrooms. It was smothered in cheese and bacon. My bad! It was quite tasty, I just took off the cheese and bacon. On the other hand I heard the steak was perfect. Never disappointed when we come here. The service was great as always. Ruby River is always a great choice.

A nice place with reasonable prices. Good food at prices that won't break you. Saw a number of families sharing. A full bar with decent wine selection. Might call ahead on evenings and weekends.

When I get that urge to have steak, it's the Ruby River. Three for three now, excellent, tender meat, very good, what else can you say?

The riverside setting made for a relaxing atmosphere and was a great place to spend a summer afternoon. We started with the Crab & Salmon Cakes, and they were outstanding. The presentation was beautiful, and each cake had a perfectly crisp exterior while remaining delicate inside. You could clearly taste both the crab and salmon, and the slightly spicy aioli complemented them perfectly without overpowering the seafood. For cocktails, I ordered the Tequila Mockingbird, and it was excellent. The mezcal's smoky flavor came through clearly, almost reminding me of a good Scotch, yet it had just enough sweetness to keep it balanced. If you enjoy spirit-forward cocktails that aren't overly sweet, I'd highly recommend it. My wife ordered the Razz Jazz and later the Rosé All Day. She loved the Razz Jazz, describing it as refreshing, lightly sweet, and lemony, with enough alcohol flavor to remind you it's a cocktail without being overpowering. The Rosé All Day was another refreshing choice and perfect for a warm afternoon on the patio. For lunch, we ordered the French Dip and the Tri-Tip Sandwich. The French Dip was tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the rich au jus. The Tri-Tip Sandwich was loaded with smoky, well-seasoned beef on fresh bread. It was a bit richer than I personally prefer, but the quality of the meat was undeniable. The fries were a standout in their own right, perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and seasoned just right. Wild River Grille isn't the least expensive lunch in town, but the quality of the food, expertly crafted cocktails, attentive service, and beautiful riverside patio made it feel well worth the price. We'll definitely be back.

I originally made an appointment for 5:00 and was told that my reservation was at 5:30. I was able to go back and confirm that the l did in fact made it for 5. None the less they did still seat us. The inside was quite empty or so I thought and they sat us all the way in the back on the side that there were no other guests. We sat for about 10 minutes before another group was sat at the front by the door and then once that group got their waiter so did we. Apparently the waiter was also the bartender and the hostess did not notify her that we were there nor did she take a look. I ordered a burger well done which was was medium well when it got to me. I did have to sent it back and unfortunately due to the service etc. I decided to just pay for our drinks and leave. This was an unfortunate first impression, maybe I will try again and sit outside and hopefully get a better experience.

My experience was quite different, we had a party of six celebrating a very special occasion. Thinking this Steakhouse is rated 4 stars we thought we couldn't go wrong, that was our first mistake. Of the first 5 salads brought out they had to take em back because of the 'off' odor. Our server explained that maybe it was the radishes (not what I would expect from a four star steakhouse). When the entrées came out three people had ordered filet mignon's, which I was told was very tasty. One of the patrons had ordered New York strip (three of us confirmed that) and was given and charged for a filet mignon rather than taking it back to the kitchen and giving the patron what they ordered. It was unfortunate, but the service in my opinion was not four-star they did check on us occasionally and kept the water glasses full and 'maybe' they even asked if everything was OK. Not wanting to spend $60 for a steak (I was a guest) I ordered the seafood roast. It turned out to be a very tasty bisque, but a tasty bowl of soup shouldn't cost $35.00. Give em try if you want to gamble on a great experience. My recommendation is to go to Western Steakhouse, enjoy the much better ambience, 120% better experience for maybe 10% more. You do you, all six of us know where we'll go next time.

The eating area is very spacious and commodious. Though this place has a casual vibe, the presentation of the food is totally fine-dining material. Each dish, especially the Citrus glazed salmon, is served as a piece of art. I've been here around three times before I installed yelp, and am excited to finally leave a review. The short rib, was absolutely amazing. The short rib was so tender, and each brussels sprout was a literal flavor bomb. The brussels sprouts I've had at other places have flavor only on the exterior, whereas the brussels sprouts here play a different game. The short rib is served in a really big portion. Though it may look dark from the photos, there are actually three big pieces. I loved loved loved the sauce; there's a sweet tangy taste to it, though it reminded me a lot of BBQ sauce. This short rib was a win. Chefs kiss. The truffle lasagna was terrific; so much sauce in between the lasagna layers. I could absolutely make out the truffle flavor in this dish. However, I recommend eating this dish quickly, as the lasagna stiffens really quickly. Thirty minutes after it was served, I went it to take another bite, and it wasn't as good anymore. The ceasar salad +beef is a great choice for a light but filling meal when you're currently on a healthy diet. Each dish here comes in giant portions, but even after you finish this salad, it won't feel too heavy on your body. I think it's because Washoe is really light on the dressing levels; perfecting the amount so it doesn't overtake the fresh flavor of the greens or leave the salad bland and insipid. However, the beef was a bit too well done and on the firmer side. The first time coming here, I was totally shocked to find out that the food they served did not match the relaxed and informal vibe the setting sets up. Not a bad thing at all. Creates a laid-back vibe while still getting high quality food.

Situated in Mid-Town, it is conveniently located near the River and an easy walk to to the Pioneer Center. Have no fear, there is quite normal food fare in addition to the more exotic. We went with a large group, so we were able to sample the exotic and the more traditional. Starting with the Double Elk Chops, featured on Dives, Diners and Drive-Ins, the Elk is a bit on the gamey side, tender with a hint of lamb taste but a finish of liver, it is not for everyone. Scottish Eggs is a soft boiled egg, wrapped in sausage, then deep fried. It is served with a beer mustard. My friend, from England, was quick to order the Scottish Eggs. He reported that they were a bit over cooked but otherwise fine. 6/10. The Kangaroo Philly Cheese Steak sounds more exotic than the taste. For this sandwich I would have appreciated a bit more Kangaroo :-) but otherwise was good. Our friends seemed to enjoy the Boar Schnitzel and the portion was certainly large, as were all the portions at the Washoe Public House. The Short Ribs were so tended and a just a touch on the sweet side. My wife liked the sweetness but as a full meal, it was a bit sweet for my palate. I had the Washoe Burger with Bacon. A solid burger. I would have preferred my patty a bit less cooked but it was fine none the less. Rich with flavor, a solid choice. The fries were good. Nothing spectacular. It you are looking for different, Washoe Public House just might be the ticket. Fantastic cuisine, located close to the River and other entertainment.
