Great off-shoot of the NYC staple. The space is gorgeous, portions as generous as NYC. I will say the service is clearly still being figured out- a bit of a shitshow, but once that is settled it will be nearly perfect. Think these bad ratings are rating this as a bagel store, it's not. It's trendy, it's probably a better brunch than anywhere else in HPV, the bagel tower situation is meant to be slightly absurd and you just have to lean in. Came here for brunch with my best friend and the aesthetic was so cute! I loved everything about this establishment. Everything was clean and the food tasted fresh. My omelette was so good and very filling. The tower was also very good and the egg salad tasted clean and fresh. 5/5 would come here again and would recommend. read more

Came here the first weekend after when they just opened. Very pretty and posh brunch place in the middle of Highland Park Village. Atmosphere is very nice to hangout and grab some mimosa with friends. However, the food is just on par and way way overpriced (knowing they are from NYC may be the answer). I ordered their bagel with smoked salmon, presentation is perfect with tiered plates. Came deconstructed so you made your own bagel. Taste just so-so, I've tried bagels that are much better here in Dallas. I also ordered their french toast which is amazing, tbh. Very thick brioche but crispy and crunchy. Again overpriced but at least it tastes good! Overall, good atmosphere but I don't think I will be back. read more

Highly anticipated! Other reviews that seemed disappointed about the price or serving size just didn't know what to expect. The prices and portions were both as expected knowing other Major Food group restaurants. I have always wanted to go to Sadelle's during my trips to Vegas and NYC but never made it. I was so excited that they opened one here in Dallas. The atmosphere is 10/10! The service 10/10 and the food 10/10! It did not disappoint! I had been so excited about this opening and it just didn't hit the mark. Pro: our server was great, I believe his name was Kyle. He was really attentive and when something was not available he let us know immediately. Also comped my friend's meal because they missed bringing her a side. He is the reason the place gets 4 stars. Pro: the inside is so cute and beautiful, lots of detail went into this location Pro: FRENCH FRIES Con: Prices are steep for what you get. I expected the best sandwich of my life and it was... fine at best. This review is for the counter service side of Sadelle's as I haven't had time to stop and eat in the main restaurant. However, it's quickly becoming a regular stop on my early morning commute to college. Jade and Paula are usually there when I'm visiting but everybody is attentive and kind. Best bagels and iced americanos I've found in the area so far. The ambiance is unique but tasteful and I enjoy staying for a bit when I have the time. I look forward to trying more of the menu, including the main restaurant, because I'm impressed with what I've seen so far. read more

Came here to try out one of the latest and greatest NYC imports in Dallas. The aesthetic here is very cute - what you'd expect from a place in Highland Park Village. However, the acoustics aren't great for conversation or even placing your order with your waiter. And as many others here have noted, the food is decent, but not worth the price. We loved this place! Sure, it's not perfectly authentic NYC style Jewish food - but for Dallas it's enough to satisfy your craving for some lox and a bagel. This is a lovely restaurant inside the affluent and upscale Highland Park Village. When I walked in I feel like there's a blend of dim atmosphere with natural light at the same time, maybe it was just cloudy that day. Either way, the layout is open and airy, with a hint of retro dining. The color scheme is pastel and light fixtures classy. The waiters all wore white lab coats which I thought was funny but seemly appropriate for the vibe. Much of the food we ordered we could probably put together at home. However, their presentation and and attention to detail is superb. I definitely enjoyed the starters the most and I think I could have skipped the main entree. What I did get for my main was the Waldorf salad. It was pretty delicious with copious amount of raisins, walnuts, chicken, celery.. and of course lettuce. There was so much that the salad alone can be made into three individual meals, which is what happened to it later that night. The starters and deserts speak for itself in my photos. My personal favorite was the shrimp cocktail; the record temperature outside may have played a role. The salmon tower is one of the more popular items there and I got to share that with my family. You won't find enough things on the tower to completely fill your stomachs but it does make a wonderful center piece. I'd definitely recommend this place for a good social outing if you're in the area. Maybe even shop a little after you're done eating. read more

We came here for our brunch wedding anniversary. We ordered the Sadelle's Tower, tomato soup and salmon egg benedict and 2 cocktails. The Sadelle's Tower is a little bit disappointing for $145 price tag. They all taste good, but I expected more for the price and the portion is smaller than average here. It came to more than $200 for 2 people for brunch and I think it is hella expensive. read more

Sadelle's proceeded to charge me $200 for missing my reservation even after I explained there was a death in the family that caused me and my family to suddenly travel out of the state. I understand the cancellation policy, however there should be exceptions for situations such as this. I have emailed and tried to call, with no response. Had to make a trip back to shopping center as there is not a number to contact so it could have been adjusted over the phone. Check your tickets!!! If I wanted to pay Nick & Sam's prices, I would have just gone there. The large Freddy salad will set you back $39...WHY???? Who knows as there's nothing spectacular about it. The salad looks nice when presented but after they toss it for you, you're like, did they bait and switch it?!?! Also, request a copy of the bill BEFORE you pay as I'm pretty sure, we were charged for items not ordered. This was a one and done place. We were in a rush to get to the airport and we stopped off for an early dinner. There was one other group in the restaurant and we had a very long wait for our food. I ordered the house smoked salmon, which was covered in some mayonnaise-ish sauce, and one piece of toast cut into four pieces. My husband ordered chicken which came out totally over-seasoned. And the worst - my little boy's "grilled cheese" was an inverted poppyseed bagel in a puddle of cheese. Iced tea was refilled once, early in the meal. To add insult to injury, when the waiter brought the check, he told us the sandwich was normally served on toast or challah but they ran out - this would have been helpful to know when we ordered! This place is definitely a must-check out in Dallas, mostly for the scene. I will preface this review by saying that as a New Yorker, I am very critical when it comes to NY restaurants being pried from their natural habitats and landing in Dallas AND very critical when it comes to THE most NY dish, which for me is the bagel and lox combo! It doesn't get more NY than that folks! Ambiance is 10/10. The decor of this place is flawless and I LOVE the branding. From the vintage diner aesthetics to the pops of turquoise, the interior designer knew what he/she/they were doing! The service was really great. I like that the menu offered a variety of brunch options, but Sadelle's is known for their lox so naturally that's what I ordered. I got an everything bagel with lox and cream cheese. Presentation was 10/10. The taste of the lox was also pretty good, but the bagel was a little underwhelming. I also got a mocha latte, which was excellent and my toddler got pancakes, which he also enjoyed. Our server, Roberto, wasn't amazing. He was very standoffish and inattentive. We thought it was maybe the brunch rush, or personality, but we compared his service to us vs. the tables we were sandwiched in between. I don't know if it was racism, as my family consists of Mexican/Pakistani/Kenyan heritage and the tables around us were totally white except one diner on one of the tables who was Asian. We definitely didn't want to think of it this way but his lack of communication and care reduced our thought process to align with this possibility. Anyway, the food was amazing, the hostess and other staff we had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with were awesome, and the vibes at this restaurant are just unmatched! Oh how I wanted to love you. Easter Sunday. Great ambiance. Great seat upstairs perch. Our server never brought my husbands cream for his coffee. He had to walk downstairs to get it. Our server put our 'caviar' appetizer' in at the same time as his Benedict and my double toasted bagel. They tried to deliver all at once. Then came back 3x with the Benedict only to find out we still weren't done with our 2oz Russian caviar. Which brings me to our server only bringing our caviar with the shell server. No other spoons or smaller knives for the rest of the accoutrements. My husbands eggs came. My bagel did not. Had to ask for it. Barely toasted. Gave up. Lots of service work to do here. Visited briefly for coffee and a croissant one weekday morning then dinner on a Friday night. Cappuccino was good but croissant was cold and deflated. Not very lively during the weekday mornings (~9am Tuesday) considering the prior establishment was bustling. Went for dinner on Friday and it was more lively at night. The interior is beautiful and wide open. Service was mostly attentive. The food was kind of a joke. We got the coconut shrimp to start, which was $18. Consisted of a small basket of mini shrimp, a lime and some sauce. Shrimp were dry and too small. The rest of the table got various items from a grilled cheese and fries, salmon, shrimp quesadilla and I got the crispy chicken schnitzel. Grilled cheese and fries were fine. Hard to mess those up. As was the quesadilla. The salmon was undercooked and almost raw in the middle. Everything basic, no standouts. The chicken schnitzel was absurdly enormous. It was two chicken breasts pounded out and served without any garnishes or greens, a tiny side of coleslaw that could be eaten in one bite and mustard all for the low low price of $28. Picture the biggest plate of flattened and fried chicken you've ever seen and pretty much nothing else and that's the chicken schnitzel. Zero reason to go back. read more
