Dined here across from our hotel, the Margaritaville, in Biloxi with three people in our party. Food was fine, our server was OK, but it took a little while for us to be served. Bread was brought out cold and and it took ten minutes to get our server to bring our check. A person in my party asked for a to- go container and no bag was given. That's a pet peeve of mine, not a big deal, but the young lady at the hostess stand offered us one bag , for two to- go containers, even after she was informed that we were going to different locations. Stopped in for Lunch. Service started great however, we were being waited on by the bartender. He got busy and no one helped. By the time we got our food it was lukewarm at best. Good atmosphere with a short wait. Our waiter was excellent and spent time exploring the menu with us. I had my usual now when at a steakhouse, ribeye. It was prepared like I asked but unfortunately the cut was very lean. I would guess it was graded USDA Select. It also had all its fat trimmed off. Why a restaurant would sale a ribeye that's been trimmed of all its fat doesn't make sense. I asked for real butter to help make the steak more palatable but the waiter informed me that their butter is a mixture of real butter and margarine. I would advise all carnivores/ketovores to find a more suitable restaurant. read more

This place has the best fall off the bone ribs. They make their own bbq sauce, which is sweet and savory. The loaded potato soup had plenty of potato and seasoning, and it was actually hot. I was so full I had to order my dessert to go. I ordered the homemade carrot cake. Each bite would just melt in my mouth. The interior has an old west motif with mounted animal heads, old west pictures, and antlers on the walls. We were greeted with smiles when we walked in, and our service was top-notch. read more

We came at an early time and were able to get parking up close. There is parking around, beneath and behind the restaurant. We took the stairs up to the restaurant but there is an elevator for those who need it. We were greeted immediately and although the restaurant wasn't busy were told it would be a 15 minute wait. I can only guess this was because they were short staffed. We sat in the bar instead. Wish we had not as an elderly couple had an all out domestic dispute while we ate. I will have the say the bartender handled them well. She was an awesome waitress too. Hands down the best part of the meal. We ordered the Range Rattlers, grilled as opposed to fried, as an appetizer. We weren't warned about how outrageously spicy these things would be. Tasty, but you'll need plenty of a drink to cool your mouth down afterwards. I got the t-bone and the wife a grilled chicken salad. While the t-bone was tasty it lacked the sear I like. Too, it was full of gristle. Look, I know steaks can have a lot of gristle. But I spent half the meal dealing with gristle. The asparagus was perfectly grilled and tasty. My wife was pleased with her meal. I'll have the say service was excellent from our waitress/bartender. She never let a glass get even half empty. An empty plate never stayed on the table. This USED TO BE my favorite steak house, but last night was the WORST Saltgrass experience I've ever had. I'm shocked at how terrible things were compared to our normal experience...the place is going downhill, which is sad. (1) the floor was so greasy, me and my daughter both almost slipped and fell going to the restroom. I have had that experience before, but this was way worse than usual. Why is no-one mopping the floor in front of the bar area? (2) the table tops were also greasy...I had to grab an extra napkin and a salt shaker from a few nearby tables (server no where in sight nearly the whole time and never did he come check on our food after he first delivered it) and every table I touched was gross (and these were "clean" and ready to seat people tables, not waiting to be bussed) (3) I always order my steak "Pittsburg-Medium Rare" a term I actually learned at Saltgrass years ago when I explained to a server how I like my steak a little charred on the outside. I've ordered it that way ever since and it's usually at least in the direction of charred on the outside. Last night my steak came to me pale and watery looking - not even one dark spot on it... and all the other steaks at our table looked cooked the way I like it on the outside. (4) But ALL 4 of our steaks come out with a solid round glob of cold butter on top. Normally it's melted over the steaks (one of the things I like about your steaks), and the steaks themselves were not very warm either, so the chilled butter never even melted. In fact, on my husband's steak, which he did order rare, it never melted. Rare is rare but still it should have been warm enough to melt the butter. Everyone had to smear chilled/room-temp butter over the tops of their meat to distribute it. I always ask for a small ramekin of the melted butter or garlic button on the side to go with my grilled shrimp, which I did as usual and the poor server kid literally brought me a bowl of cold butter on the side. He seemed clueless. He was very nice and did suggest they remake my steak, because by this point, I just told him I was very disappointed, and when it came back, it was a bit charred and the butter was melted, so I was much happier about that part...but I should not have to send it back and eat after my family is finished eating, just to have it served right. If I'm paying a couple hundred dollars for steak dinner for my family, I am going to enjoy it! (5) I could not find a salt shaker that worked... I literally tired 5 different ones from the surrounding tables and none would allow the salt to come out. I even opened them to try to get the salt out and what I found was wet, yellow salt piled up in the tops of each one.... which was gross... and the reason why I would stop and try a different one... but ALL OF THEM were like that. Wet and yellow.... WHY IS THE SALT YELLOW? That is disgusting... I was literally GROSED OUT while trying to eat my dinner. (6) the poor young server was the worst server I've ever had there... but not holding him totally responsible for the terrible experience. I feel this is a management issue. I asked for my salad dressing on the side, it was not. Had to ask several times for more bread (1 small loaf is not enough for 5 people, they should have brought 2 from the start), he never brought us our appetizers, and when we questioned it he tried to play it off and was going to go drop the order right before our steaks were due to come out, so we told him never mind on the apps. We asked for an extra plate because my son was going to eat some of my husband's huge steak, but that didn't make it to our table until the 3rd request, and after he had finished eating off of the tiny saucers we had an over abundance of on our table for some reason. The sever was not picking up and removing used dishes. When it was time to order my father just wanted a cheeseburger and fries, but when he ordered it, the server literally told us that you guys have a terrible cheeseburger and that he needed to order something else. Is there something wrong with your cheeseburger that I should be aware of? So when he asked him what did he suggest other than the cheeseburger, he said "honestly, the bone in cowboy ribeye was all he could recommend"... the most expensive steak on your menu. Seriously? My poor daddy didn't know what to do. He got the T-bone and left saying he wished he'd have just ordered the cheeseburger anyway. My young daughter's Sprite came out in a filled-to-the brim, tall glass instead of a kid's cup with a lid (it did say "kid sized drink" or something like that on the kids menu) and it spilled all over her paper kid menu as soon as she tried to pick it up, ruining her artwork, which also upset her. There was more, like how they ruined the surprise cake we brought for my daughter's birthday, acted like they didn't believe us when I confirmed that we were indeed all there and could be seated. Saltgrass Steak House is one of the newest steakhouses added to Biloxi, MS. It is located on the north side of HWY. 90. across the street from the Golden Nugget Casino just at the west side base of the Biloxi/Ocean Springs bridge. On my first visit, Saltgrass surpassed all my expectations. This is the real deal, the service, food, ambiance, bar area, porch area......all good! The only thing I could think that wasn't okay was the parking, but then again not too many parking spots are okay for my 4x4 pickup. The parking can/will fill up if it's busy. You will need to park in neighboring areas. Not a showstopper just a heads up. The restaurant is elevated above the ground due to its close proximity to the Gulf of Mexico. But there is elevator access to the restaurant floor. I am looking forward to future visits. The menu also has lunch specials that are very affordable. I'll update as I visit more, but so far so good. read more

We loved Becca! She was so sweet and attentive. The staff seemed to work as a team. Servers and servers assistant or food runners (assuming from observation) worked smoothly together. Becca was busy but never neglected us and her supporting staff filled in the cracks. Food was great. My husband rated his steak in his top three he has ever had. My ONLY complaint was that we were seated at a dirty table. Crumbs on table and put seat with the previous table's checkbook on my seat. Hostess error no fault of our server. Our family dined here on one of their busier nights. The wait was shorter than what we were originally told so that was a plus. My husband and I had Moscow mules which weren't strong at all, more like juice. We ordered the fried pickles and peppers as well as the queso fresco dip for appetizers and we loved both of them. The queso fresco doesn't come with a lot of chips. One of my sons got the chicken sandwich which he said was delicious, my other son got fried shrimp which for the price he said was not worth it. My husband got a ribeye which thankfully he loved since he is super picky about his steaks. I got the shrimp duo with Mac n cheese. I loved the shrimp but the mac n cheese was way too stiff for my liking. I like my Mac n cheese to be creamy. All of our meals came with a Caesar side salad which we all enjoyed. Let's just say this restaurants Ambiance is crap!! Went with my husband, son and daughter in law to SaktGrass for dinner on a Saturday night after a Christmas show in Biloxi. On the way to the table 3 people out of the four step in feces in the dining area on the carpet. Hostess response was "Do you want a different table?". I discovered Saltgrass in Houston several years ago while on a business trip and thnk Saltgrass is one of the best chain restaurants in America. I've found the service and food are high caliber and at reasonable prices making Saltgrass a great dining choice. Me and my friends came here to enjoy a birthday dinner. We were, at one point the only table in the section. Of course, other customers came in and were seated around us. They received their appetizers AND their food before us. Management had a very nonchalant attitude about it. Jim was our server. I liked him. He had personality and was all around a nice guy who tried to use his discretion on how to go about doing things when it came to us. Kiersten was very helpful and she wasn't even our server but she was helpful. They both earned the two stars I gave on their own. As I write this, another table who were sat after us has gotten their food before we got ours. I am on vacation here and am very upset about my experience being that this is my first ever experience with this restaurant. I definitely won't come back here if I'm traveling here in the future. Management only took off an appetizer. How about taking off the entire bill after not helping us out and not showing concern at all. When the food finally came out, the steaks were RAW. I was on a buddies golf trip to Biloxi and I had eaten at a "high end" steak house the the night before, with a bill of about $130 per person. Someone from the group who had avoided the high end place asked me to join them at Saltgrass because it had steaks, which he and his buddy wanted, and seafood, knowing that I had had a steak the night before. I was jealous that I spent so much the night before after seeing their steaks. Generous portion, appeared cooked to order, and the guys claimed they were very good. I, on the other hand, got the ribs, and my jealousy abated. The ribs were a HUGE portion, so much that the rack had to be folded onto itself. Lunch on a holiday week- so not busy. Newish steakhouse decor with seafood, ribs and burgers also on the menu. Very attentive server--prompt, smiling, professional. I had the steak and shrimp lunch item which was 6oz sirloin cooked perfectly to order, and four shrimp (your choice grilled or fried). For $21 I think they could've upgraded to an even half-dozen shrimp, but that's just me . My companion had the 1/2 rack baby back ribs with fries (~$15) and upgrade to wedge salad for additional $2.99. Salads were fresh and delicious. A little garnish or color on the entree plate might help eye-appeal, but Gordon Ramsay doesn't work here! Ribs were tender and tasty. (No sauce served with them FYI.)
