I am EXTREMELY dissatisfied with Five Star Ford in Carrollton, Texas. On December 28, 2022, I purchased a 2021 preowned truck (paid cash [$30,300]). The truck only had one key, but the salesperson (Alex) assured me that a second key would be provided to me. I have a signed "We Owe" document confirming that a second key will be provided. After numerous attempts over the past several weeks (direct contact with the salesperson, Alex) I continue to be "jerked around", being promised the much needed second key. To date, NO KEY. If you are in the market for a New or Used vehicle, I suggest you stay clear of Five Star Ford. They make promises they simply Cannot Keep. I have had a Terrible experience with them. Ford and the dealer have decided against supporting the Ford Focus safety issue of the Powershift automatic transmission. Clearly, they are in denial and have not helped me in my situation. An apology has no value when you abandon your customers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I sold my 2014 Ford Focus and took a loss of nearly $2000 after 18 months of car ownership because I did not want to continue to deal with Ford and Sam Pack's Five Star Ford's Service department. The car was originally sold at Five Star Ford in North Richland Hills. I had bought it used with 11K miles with a rebuilt title. After the mileage crossed 13K miles, the Powershift automatic transmission began to consistently shudder when switching into 2nd gear. The issue was infrequent during the past thousand miles but had become more frequent. Ford has admitted to faulty Powershift automatic transmissions in several models of cars, including the 2014 Focus, in a nationwide class action lawsuit settlement. I had been mailed notification statements regarding reimbursement and repair of the automatic transmission from early 2017. After a visit to the service department, Sam Pack's Five Star Ford informed me the slipping of the transmission was within the "accepted" tolerances of operation(transmission inspection by their mechanic). I disagreed with the assessment. This car was unsafe and uncomfortable to drive because it began to jerk and slow down during acceleration while in 2nd gear. At intersections, the car was dangerous to operate because car was slow to accelerate when crossing the intersection. During stop-and-go traffic, the car was a pain to drive because it constantly jerked forward during 2nd gear shifting. The dealer told me a car with a branded/rebuilt title does not qualify for warranty repair. I disagreed with their determination because I was notified by the class action settlement in regards to the faulty Powershift automatic transmissions in all 2014 Ford Focus cars. I stated that this transmission defect should be classified as a safety recall. The type of title has no bearing on whether the automatic transmission is faulty(especially due ot the low mileage of the car). After multiple phone calls I was told by Ford and Sam Pack's Five Star Ford that the repair of the automatic transmission was not covered. By the way, there were 2 services performed on my car that were considered safety recalls despite the branded/rebuilt title. I had an option to pursue this matter with Ford through arbitration. Ford had agreed in the settlement to pay for all attorney expenses for Focus owners entering arbitration. However, the arbitration process had been put on hold for possibly more than a year, due to an appeal of the settlement. Never buy a Ford. read more

Now that the weather has cooled I find that the heater didn't work either. Changed heater core and during the swap I fin that the vehicle had zero anti freeze in it. Straight water. The primary reason I continue to be a customer with this location is the service department and specifically my service advisor, Oscar Jaramillo. Around 2-3 months ago my wife and I ended up at Sam Pack's Ford in Carrollton looking for a new Ford Edge. We were fortunate enough to meet the sales manager, Reuben Krause, who was willing to cut through all the typical BS that surrounds purchasing a car, and we came to a deal. My wife loves the car and we're good to go. Fast forward to last week, and after unsuccessfully dealing with multiple Chevy dealerships trying to buy a truck, I was reminded of two things: 1/ There are a lot of really shady car dealers out there. 2/ Sam Pack's Ford is not one of them I put my initial desire for a Chevy aside and decided to give the F150 Lariat a try. Reuben put me in touch with a great salesman (goes by the name Flash), and I proceeded to purchase the truck via text message and a couple of emails. The next day I went in to sign the paperwork, and I was off with what, IMHO, is a much nicer truck than the Chevy LTZ I was previously considering. I usually go to North Central Ford for all of my services because I purchased my truck there. Today I decided to try Sam Packs five star because it is right by my office. Made an appt for 8:15am. Dropped my truck off at 7:50am and told them I'd pick it up after lunch. I scheduled the works for $39.95. That's an oil change, tire rotation, multi point inspection and complimentary wash. Picked my truck up at 12:30pm. Total was $52.90, not the $39.95. They said they had to add an extra quart of oil. Fair enough, even though no one mentioned that to me at any point. Walking to my truck, still looks dusty, they didn't wash it, which was supposed to be a part of the works deal. Asked the service advisor about it, he apologized. Got into my truck, paper and plastic all over my seat and floor still, so it wouldn't get dirty. Checked my tire pressure, drivers side both are 38psi, front passenger is 36psi and rear passenger is 34psi. Clearly they didn't check my tire pressured like they were supposed to. It makes me wonder if in fact my tires were rotated and If the multi - point check was in fact done, because I never received a report on it, like I do from North Central Ford. On my invoice it says if you are not satisfied to call 972-446-5000 and ask for Drew (was on vacation) Mike (was at lunch) or Trey (she had no idea where he was) I tried. Very disappointed with the overall service I received, I take pride in my truck and wish that sam pack's did too. read more

I would put a negative star if I could. I bought a 2020 Ford Fusion last year and the transmission has already failed on it. Now they are telling me they can't give me a rental until they diagnose it which won't be for another 4-6 weeks. So I took it to another Ford dealership and they told me the same thing. So I called their "customer relations" number and that guy didn't seem to give a shit at all either. So now my only option to get their attention is to shit all over them all over the internet. Ford motor Company sells an inferior vehicle and their policies are trash. They don't seem to care about their customers once they sell them said shitty vehicles. I bought a car here and felt the sales process was good. That said, once you close on the sale it takes them days to call back in response to an inquiry. I am perhaps spoiled as I have purchased most of my other cars from Sewell and are used to their outstanding customer service. Unfortunately, Sewell does not sell Ford trucks. LYING THIEVES. I went into the service department to fix a few problems with my car. After going over what was being fixed I asked point blank that X was the cost. When I returned to pay & pick up my car I was given a statement 3x the cost. When confronted Vince in the service department claimed "that's the way it is." What a joke. After telling him I was only paying the agreed amount he went on to throw a fit and and act like a child. I only paid the agreed-upon amount. When I got to my car I noticed my AC was not working. Turns out they had unplugged the compressor and stuffed the cord in a crack very difficult to find. After taking my car somewhere else to find out that was the problem the man told me this doesn't happen by accident. Turns out the Ford service department decided to sabotage my car because they weren't upfront and honest. Needless to say I will not return to their location. I hope you think twice about going to San Pack's Five Star Ford in Carrollton. You will most likely run into people that will try and take advantage of you. Also, my sunglasses were stolen out of my glove box. Whatever you do Don't buy a Ford !!! I didn't even have the car a few months and the recalls started. The main recall problem was with the car not going over 30 mph and shaking. Took it in got it fixed supposedly. A few months later the doors all had to be replaced. Just one thing after another. 5 recalls in all. This year the car does the same thing won't go over 30 mph and is shaking. Take it in, Get a call That it will take $1000 to fix. And that the recall warranty no longer applies. Of course not. So basically it wasn't fixed properly the first time. Get the car back less than two weeks later the same problem starts again. Take it back and get a call from Mooney saying oh we did the cheap fix to see if that would work. Now it will cost you &1080 . That's complete BS.its all a scam to make money of trusting customers. I've already reported this situation and dealership to Ford. Their dismissive behavior and oh if you don't pay this we can't guarantee it won't happen again attitude is shameful. I have previously had good experiences here however today I took my car in for "the works". I usually wait 45 minutes at another dealer for this service however today took 3 hours. They did replace 2 filters which understandably would take a little longer. They compensated me $10 for waiting which was nice however when I looked at the multi point inspection notes, it showed that all my tires tread depth were above 7/32's and in the green. This is incorrect. My tires last time tested around 6/32's and when I checked them myself today they were all around 5/32's. Tires do not magically grow tread. Disappointed with this discrepancy which makes me wonder about the rest of the report. Other than this experience I do like the dealership and staff are always nice. read more

After I bought my King Ranch at Sam Pack's, I had the bed sprayed and windows tinted. My truck was returned to me with my seat deeply reclined in gangster style, rap music blaring on the radio, and overspray all over my carpet. I complained and they topped of my gas tank and detailed my truck. I thought that was nice so I decided I would give them another chance in the future as obviously their technician had a bad day and they tried to make it right after the fact. Still, I could simply not believe no one even looked at my truck before returning to me then, and that is just what happened yesterday once again. There is obviously ZERO quality control at Sam Pack's. I live in Frisco. I drove 30 minutes to Sam Pack's shop yesterday just to be told I would have to wait for 1.5 hours for an oil change I could have gotten 10 minutes from my house and had it done in less than 30 minutes. Only that slow service wasn't the only thing that sets Sam Pack's dealership apart from others. 1. My truck was returned to me with my antennae sitting on the passenger seat, and upon closer inspection the paint had been stripped from the bottom off as apparently your tech used vice-grips to remove it. 2. My truck was not cleaned, which coincidentally I was told is the reason the antennae was removed (so they could put it through the wash). I didn't expect to have it cleaned but now knowing that was overlooked at my truck was given back to me damaged and not even put back together upset me quite a bit. I told my service advisor who got me a new antennae and I only had to wait another 15-20 minutes for my truck to be washed. I have no idea how Sam Pack's calls itself a 5-star dealership. I have only worked with them twice and at this point I won't be back since they have reliably terrible service. I have 3 pre-paid oil changes left on my account that I won't be using because it is simply not worth the hassle and risk of future damage to my truck. I did complain again after someone reached out to me about a survey coming from Ford. I was offered the same deal as before: top of my gas tank and detail my truck. I won't be taking them up on the offer again. I am done with Sam Pack's 1-Star Ford. I almost forgot to mention the cherry on top of all of this: after my name was called for me to visit the cashier to retrieve my truck, I overheard someone in the Internet Sales Department making fun of my last name. This is the worst Ford dealer I have ever tried getting service from.. A few month back I brought my truck in because I heard a noise while driving. Figured it was either bad brake pads or a wheel bearing.. Moody the service advisor did not want to take it in to be looked at. Drive it around the block and said it was a suspension issue and would take a few days to look at.. Knowing that it is either a bearing or a brake pad I said no and took it home and pulled the front wheel off. Sure enough it was the front brake pads.. I ended up putting the new brakes on the truck.. Fast forward to yesterday.. I dropped off the same truck at just past 6:30am asked for an oil change and a tire rotation.. Also asked if they had time to look at a service track issue that comes up ever once in a while.. Moody said no problem that they would get the oil service done and look at the service track issue.. I came back at 5:30 pm and nothing had been done. The truck was there ALL DAY.. Nothing done.. No call from them saying they needed more time. Then tried giving some BS excuses about not wanting to be 900 bucks into repairs and me wanting to trade the truck in.. Guess they really over charge on the oil changes and tire rotations there.. Do not buy a used vehicle from here. After five - six months of ownership my check engine light comes on. I bring to a Nissan dealer and they tell me I need to contact where I bought the truck from, and ask about getting help in repairing fuel system, bc the filters are old and look to not have been changed in 20-30K miles. I have put approx 7500 miles on the truck since purchase. I contact the used sales manager Scott. Told him what I was dealing with and the first thing that comes out of him mouth is "are you sure those filters are out of your truck". I knew at this moment this was an uphill battle. I was told a complete service was done to the truck when they took possession. When I brought the old filters back to them to prove that they were as old as I was stating, they went and grabbed a diesel tech that can apparently smell water in diesel from fuel filters that have been out of the filter housing for over a week. Now Scotts excuse bc he has now seen the condition of his supposed new filters was that they didn't do a complete filter change, but rather looked at the filters and deemed them to be ok at time of inspection before sale, and slapped them back in the truck. But since this diesel tech can apparently smell water in diesel it's not their issue, thank you for coming, don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya. Here is a hint for those that don't know, you can't smell water in diesel. Do not buy a car from here. They are dishonest. They are not looking out for you they are only looking out for profit margin. I get it it is a business and they have to make money. I just bought this truck, I have driven the truck for less than 10000 miles, now on top buying a used vehicle for 30k, the cost to replace the fuel system falls on me bc the vehicle wasn't serviced correctly. $20k dollars to replace a fuel system bc the company they use to service the vehicles doesn't service the vehicles and they know it. Oh and since the filters have been deemed the cause of the destruction of the fuel system, insurance has ruled this as mechanical failure and not a covetable issue. I purchased a new Ford Escape Hybrid from this dealership in 2008. Everything has been great ever since, until today. I've taken the car to a shop in my new hometown and they've identified a problem with the emissions system. The manufacturer's warranty has expired, but I purchased an expensive and allegedly super awesome extended warranty from the dealership so I'm covered, right? Wrong. Millennium, the extended warranty provider, has exclusions for certain types of issues. So, while I thought I was buying the best, it turns out I wasn't. According to the rep from the Ford dealership I'm working with now, the Millennium plan offers a greater profit margin to the sales rep, so it's obvious that he sold me the plan that was best for him, not for me. Needless to say I'm unhappy. But let my misfortune be your warning: If you purchase a car from this or any Ford dealership, insist on the OFFICIAL Ford Premium Extended Warranty. Do not accept anything else. It supposedly covers every last detail of the car for the duration of the warranty contract. You CANNOT count on the sales reps at Sam Pack's to tell you this, as they're looking after their own bottom line read more

Service advisor Vincent Grazioso was beyond helpful with answering any and all questions I had for the whole process and made me feel well taken care of while I was waiting on my car. I live about an hour away, and my phone was about to die at one point while waiting when I would need directions back to my house, and Vincent went out of his way to ask all of his coworkers if they had a charger I could borrow. He was also quick to help me out and find an outlet that worked as well haha. It's the little things and gestures for me, and they hit home with every one. Love this place and the staff. The manager Moody, after having to call 8 times because no one answers the phone, or I juyst would get transferred around to voicemail, tells me he can't help me find my bolt pattern to a super duty wheel... He hung up on me eventually, stating "we're spinning our tires here in the mud"! Do you think he was trying to be condescending!? He says he doesent know what a bolt pattern is to the wheels! This guy is at seniority!? You've got to be kidding me! He told me he wasn't going to help me over the phone because he doesen't know what I'm talking about, and he doesen't care to ask anyone or bother with it because it would take away from other responsibility. What a lousy manager! I can't believe I buy from a so called "prestige dealer". I called back back (this made 9 times and askijng for a different department) and Roman actually found the bolt pattern (8x170mm) using their system, which is all across the board the same bolt pattern. Wow!!! Moody exclaimed "we assign VIN numbers to vehicles for our parts", was his reasoning. Get Moody out of his chair and learn something. My husband wrote a review previously, just after going in to buy our new 2015 Ford Escape back in January, but I wanted to follow up with a review of my own - this time, for the service folks. Just after the nasty ice storms when the roads were riddled with potholes, I wound up tearing a tire in one of them. We popped the spare onto the car, but because I do a fair amount of commuting, wanted to get the tire replaced as soon as possible. We talked to Moody in the service department, who was able to confirm that they had the tire we needed in-stock, and got me in the same day, right after I left the office! And, lucky for me, they washed my car for me too, giving me one less "to-do" after all that nasty weather. Moody & the service team at Sam Pack's are just as wonderful as the sales & financing team. Found a vehicle I was searching for at this dealer; well, almost. They were advertising it without pictures or a price because they didn't have it; is that even legal? I called and found out they were to get it; it was a trade they took, sight unseen. They were going to ask $15,000 something for it; I offered $14,000 if it was as they stated. They accepted and we agreed they would do nothing to it for me; they sent me a picture a couple days later. I asked for more than one picture and a Carfax on it. They said they couldn't get more pictures right then because the interior wa worse than they had been told, so they sent it to be detailed and have the interor evaluated. I asked them why and reminded them that they were to do nothing under our agreement. Then they said the interior would cost $500 to fix, if I wanted them to fix it. I expressed disappointment at that, but agreed to pay that if they fixed the interior. Next e-mail I get, three days later, is that they sold it to someone else without having it even return to the dealership!! I've written multiple times to the salesperson (Jared) and he doesn't respond. I use their on-line 'help' tool (Elana), and no one calls or writes. I don't live near this dealership, but if I did, I would NEVER go back to a dealer that accepts and offer then sells the product to another person. They didn't even offer it to me as a first, with the other person second; they just sold it to the other person. This reeks of poor or dishonest managment and salespersons with weak ethics. This dealership should be ashamed of what they did - apparently they are; so ashamed, they can't even communicate with me about what they did. read more
